Is it safer to pirate my games through things like Google Drive instead of using torrents? I feel like torrents are easily tracked?

So what is it?

In terms of getting a letter from your ISP it's safer.

Copyright holders pay trolls to seed torrents and log all IP addresses of peers, then they contact your ISP.

With DDL like Google Drive or Mega they can't do that.

It's not safe to pirate games regardless though, because running "game.exe" from some random Russian hacker and "reputable" uploader is extremely unsafe.

I can't believe Windows users primarily install software by running binary executable files they find on websites.

This is what I wanted to know, thanks user. Looks like I'm safe.

Idiot.

You're less likely to get a letter and more likely to get malware but even a torrent could cause you to get malware. Really anything you install from a torrent should only be run on an offline computer you have no intention of ever bringing online or run in a VM cuckshed unless you have zero value for your personal information and various accounts.

I use Linux and either

- Install software from a central repository where multiple different systems build the packages and they all have to have a matched checksum.

- Compile the software myself from source, usually with a PKGBUILD from the AUR, which is just a small shell script with instructions to build a package on Arch.

Idiot, anime, and Google cock-sucker.
We got the fucking trifecta.
Off yourself retard.

>safer
Safer from what? Nobody's gonna come beat you up for pirating. The worst you're going to get is a letter from your ISP saying "pls stop pirating and delete the data you pirated" because they're are legally obligated to send one when someone makes a complaint to them about it. However, they won't ever actually deny you service because they want your money. The only way you can actually face repercussions is if you seed, because the people who enable the piracy are the only ones worth going after. Never seed.

It happens in America, I've gotten these letters before (never for anything I've downloaded, but someone in my house downloading shit like Kanye West's new album).

The letters don't say anything but a warning.

ISPs don't actually give a fuck, they just have to pretend like they care so copyright holders who make complaints will be happy.

My neighbor got a letter and ended up paying hundreds of euros because he pirated movies. I don't want that to happen to me.

>Euros

I'm very sorry user, I just assumed you lived in a first world country.

He's a dumbass, they can complain, threaten and demand as much as they like. They still have no legal means of forcing you to pay.

He probably seeded. Normies don't even know what that is, so they don't reduce or disable uploading and leave their torrent client running.

>people will believe this

>thinks Google is less trackable than torrents
user, I...

What's wrong with it?

Generally GDrive and Mega are “””safer””” in that you’re unlikely to face any consequences, but they will still log all of your info. As for torrenting, there are bots that seed the most popular torrents on the piratebay/nyaa/etc so that they can log the IPs of everyone who leeches. Torrenting is generally unsafe unless you’re using a VPN. If you have a VPN, torrenting is best

Just use DDL my man.

Great bait and great taste in manga OP. 8/10

It was worrisome until I saw that it also includes files I didn't download.

I'm not baiting, I'm just dumb I guess.
