Yakuza 2 is one of the best in the series. Kiwami 2 is a good enough remake. It loses some of the charm and one of the smaller districts was cut, but it has all the improvements of 6 (and even more refined) and the overall plot and key substories are in tact.

His story should have ended at 2 where he can live with Kaoru and Haruka Better than using the "Kiryu gets dragged back to Tokyo for yakuza shenanigans" 4 more times.
