Literally nothing released during this Q1
Are we even expecting any significant bump?
Literally nothing released during this Q1
Isn't still the best selling hardware week to week in Japan?
Of course it is, the 3DS is dead and the PS4 was never that popular in Japan. It only sells well in Japan because of its handheld feature.
Then I think it will have a bump even if its a small one. But by the 2nd half of the year it's going to be doing much better on the grounds of having a new Pokemon game. Not that this Q1 has been especially bad to me, I've bought a bunch of things I've missed out on myself so I got plenty to do until the Summer comes around.
Wii U is better than the Switch.
Having unpopular opinions doesn't make you seem intelligent or right. Stopping shitposting because you can't afford a switch.
>it can play all these old games I can play better on PC
>I can play better on PC
>better
Don't lie user
No chance that's true if you were ever a part of that gen.
Switch at least is getting the large support of 3rd party multiplats for the most part (especially fighters and RPGs).
I can name only like 3 fighters on Wii U, Tekken Tag 2, Smash 4 and Pokken.
What are you talking about? Yoshi’s Crappy World just came out.
How is Japan still such an important market? There's only like 100M people there
woo another mediocre Yoshi game nobody cares about
Wolly world was a flop too
Cringe. Wii U is not only better in terms of games but it also has gamepad functionality.
People late to the Smash party got sales going throughout January and February.
Now there won't be a significant spike until Mario Maker 2.
Sure thing sweetie
Because it's the third largest economy on the planet while housing an enormous video game development sector in respect to its size? Switch doing well in Japan means extensive Japanese support for the system, which nobody can shrug off as insignificant.
Wow that means so fucking much with no games.
That's because PS5 and the new Xbox is right around the corner.
>implying anything but Smash, DBFZ, and Pokken have players
>t. SF 30th Anniversary owner
I own a Wii U but stop coping, poorfag.
The console was a piece of shit and it had to get its games ported to Switch to salvage their sales.
Yet, here it is, missing out on literally every major Japanese release or getting a delayed port.
It's getting pretty much every game that can run on the system and even games that don't like RE7.
Why hating on Nintendo has become so popular lately?
I own USFII as well and can still find players.
BBCF also has players.
That being said at least it's getting games like those as well as the new ones like MK11, KLK If, SamSho and likely whatever the next GG project is.
Wii U would've been skipped entirely without even an option to play offline multiplayer.
Would it be too much for Capcom to release Bionic Commando Rearmed and Strider and Konami to release Hard Corps Uprising and the Rebirth games on it?
>be too much
>Capcom
We all know the answer for that, user.
i own both. the wii u was unironically better than the switch.
>free online
>most of the same library, plus games that aren't on switch
>miiverse
>better pro controller
>gamepad was comfier than the switch in handheld mode
>asymmetric multiplayer
the switch is a downgrade in so many ways and only sold because of better commercials and a name that didn't have "wii" in it.
A-user!!!
You know those don't count!
Fucking Capcom. I'm going to be mad when Konami doesn't include Castlevania The Adventure Rebirth in their collection this summer.
I know you are un Yea Forums but you don't need to be a contrarian just to fit in with the tribe.
I'll take your challenge on.
>free online
You win this one.
>most of the same library, plus games that aren't on switch
Not even remotely true by this point. It isnt even a joke how big Switch library is compared to Wii U and how much 3rd party support it's getting.
>miiverse
Another win for you.
>better pro controller
Debatable, I like the better battery life but matte on Switch pro feels way better to hold than glossy Wii U pro in my opinion.
>gamepad was comfier than the switch in handheld mode
It's rather bulky actually and has a lower res screen as well with q giant bezel due to having the controls attached to the device. I prefer having the option for tabletop mode that Switch has to offer for a way better portable multiplayer experience anywhere I want.
>asymmetric multiplayer
Hardly any game used this. Even among 1st party there were so few titles that were built around the idea.
oh, i almost forgot:
>backwards compatibility
>virtual console instead of subscribing to nes roms
>direct voice chat instead of a shitty mobile app
yeah, no, sorry. pretending the switch is better is the actual contrarian opinion.
You forgot
>sexy rounded edge discs
They buy more video games per capita
Does this number mean they missed their 20m objective?
>No RE2, KH3, Sekiro, MHW
Yeah amazing third party support, i love playing Doom and Wolfenstein fuck white people 2 in 360p.
Unless they sold 6 million Switches this quarter, yeah, they cut back to 17 million
It's probably going to hit 35 million.
>implying ports of those games aren't being developed for the revision version
Is this the moment where we list some games released in Q1 and you tell us they don't count because you yourself consider them shit or bad or whatever else?
In japan and NA
I thought we were debating Wii U vs Switch?
Ok, what major system sellers released in 2019 for Switch so far?
Hating on Nintendo has always been a popular thing to do
I think getting NES games through a $20 subscription is better than paying $5 per game. What does suck is the total lack of manuals within the system. They couldn't even be bothered to add a sentence in the description for Startropics for the code.
I fucking loved the Wii U but nintendo himself tried really hard to fuck the console in almost all imaginable way, some that come to my mind:
-Making mandatory using the gamepad to launch games in games that really did not requiered using the gamepad all the time like mario maker or star fox zero.
-Mandatory gamepad to enter to fucking settings.
-Small space capacity on the console for modern games (32GB was still a joke in 2012)
-The name, everything about the marketing of the console in general
-Smash being ported also to 3DS and having the best stages and modes in the 3DS version, also cutting ice climbers.
-Porting Wii U games to 3DS in general, and not porting games like kid icarus uprising to Wii U.
So many fuck ups and still managed to be the best console of the generation, and not exactly thanks to Nintendo.
A Mario port and Yoshi's Crafted World if we're talking 1st party. The Mario game at least made good money probably.
They're stacking Summer though it seems.
>Not even remotely true by this point.
no, it's still true. nintendo has become lazy as fuck with its first-party output by coasting on full-priced wii u ports. for example: it's a disgrace that the switch won't get its own brand-new mario kart, instead of leeching off the wii u.
>Debatable, I like the better battery life but matte on Switch pro feels way better to hold than glossy Wii U pro in my opinion.
the wii u pro has a good d-pad too while many of the switch pro controllers' d-pads have issues.
>It's rather bulky actually and has a lower res screen as well with q giant bezel due to having the controls attached to the device.
it was "bulky," but still more comfortable to hold. the switch being totally flat on the back is a recipe for hand cramps after playing for any decent length of time. the switch also has a bezel.
Is this the moment where we list some games released in Q1 and you tell us they don't count because you yourself consider them not system sellers?
They'll just jump to whatever shitty argument they need for each individual claim.
NSMBUD made money solely by going on sale digitally for $40 a few weeks back. Pretty much all the stores shut down the offer after a day or two.
Switch having better 3rd party support than Wii U is like clsiming dying of drowning is better than dying in a fire.
Both miss the best 3rd party games.
So by the next year it will reach the Xbone. Impressive for having such a weak library.
