Solid 8/10 that could easily be a 9 with a proper Critical Mode and good FM content.
It's bad
I feel bad for all the early adopters who ruined their first playthrough instead of waiting for Critical mode, but that's what they get for being fanboys.
It's great, but it needs Critical Mode.
3/10
I can't believe SE hasn't made a good game since FF12.
Way too easy, worlds dont have original plots it's literally just the movie with sora in the backround half the time, dialogue is pure cringe but that was to be expected, the gummi ship is still in. Lame/10
Didn't like the game because I feel much too old for this bullshit about the power of friendship and gay shit like that. Game took TOO long and I mentally matured. Now I see it as embarrassing garbage you only liked when you were young enough.
This series has no business being so successful especially cringe inducing how many people are still hyped because Wreck It Ralph became a world for the mobile phone game. Seriously? That movie is shit and anyone who likes it is shit. Also Nu-Disney is shit.
It's got flaws but I liked it. Going through the worlds reminded me of playing through the worlds in 1 for the first time. I wish there had been more relevant plot before the Graveyard and that Scala was more than a boss arena. I'll definitely play it again when Critical mode is out.
Somehow they managed to reduce the gameplay to musou -tier shit.
not as good as IIFM and has some pacing issues but a ton of fun and has some of the series' peaks. easy 8/10 and I'm hyped for Critical and DLC
I already want to replay it but I'll wait for the DLC.
Don't listen to seething Changers who can't play it, the game is great.
Underwhelming, unfocused, seemed like they were just trying to get it out of the way. I’d still call it 7/10, but there’s a lot of squandered potential and obvious mistakes
>I mentally matured.
a certain C. S. Lewis quote springs to mind.
fpbp
5/10
midcore.
Easily the second best in the series imo.If it paced itself good and presented a solid challenge it would be the best.
I agree with that quote, but what boggles my mind is that anyone took KH seriously in the first place. People are acting like they just now realized the writing was some shit. It’s got nothing to do with being kiddy.
>mfw all the seething retards itt that didn't understand how kino this game is
Pretty much. Crit mode fucking when?
I didn't mind it, got to make my magic-build (which was disgustingly more powerful than i expected) so i can tackle crit mode with a melee-only build.
It feels like everyone who defends this game has stockholm syndrome, like MGS4 fans or Dark Souls 2 fans
Don't give me that crap. Did you actually give a shit about helping Rapunzel see the lights? Or help spot Elsa during LET IT GO!!! Or going to Pirates to spend time in the middle of TWO sequels mixed together for a sloppy story or Monsters Inc with the laugh bullshit. This junk is so infantile, barely a step above shit like Steven Universe.
Conceptually Kingdom Hearts could have been good, but you know what kills it? Once you grow up and realize Disney is shit you no longer have an interest in that garbage. Only manchilds and women childs and shipper fag/cunts like this shit.
What build will you do on your Crit zero exp playthrough?
>not twitter
>not smartphones
>no final fantasy characters
>butching twilight town.
>the best worlds weren't even Disney but pixar worlds
>only one super boss
its shit aimed at zoomers.
How would CM and FM fix this? Increasing difficulty and adding some items and bosses is not not going to solve the shitshow this series has become.
>he's too dumb to understand the deep lore and plot
Heh I guess not everyone is born equal
That would imply you cared about Aladdin and Tarzan, which is fucking retarded
>>no final fantasy characters
As a fan of Final Fantasy, fuck you that's a good thing. I never liked the FF cameos in KH because they were always ruined bastardizations of them. What is the point of a cameo by a beloved character when they don't resemble at all who they are which is what made them popular in the first place? Even fucking Smash Bros without any story understands who Cloud Strife is. He doesn't wear Vincent's cape, he doesn't wear Vincent's claw thing, his sword is not wrapped up in toilet paper. Fuck Kingdom Hearts. The removal of SE cameos is the best thing that ever happened to t his franchise.
not him but Monsters Inc was one of the better worlds since it had its on plot. only bad part is you dont get to fight lizard guy. in fact, the lack of Disney villains to fight was awful. even the organization fights felt like half-assed versions of their fights in two.
>zero exp
I'm not masochistic enough for that. I tried that in KH2 and i just wasn't having fun. Kudos to the ones that go through with it though.
Final Fantasy cameos is the very reason why kingdom hearts even exist.
Auron was pretty much identical to the original version.
What part of 'once you grow up you realize it's shit' don't you understand?
>What's the Yea Forumserdict?
6/10 slog where there are no stakes until the last fourth of the game. If the ability to turn off attractions gets patched in, then it could become a 7/10, and if good final mix content is released then it would become an 8/10.
Knock both numbers down one and I'd agree. That said, no amount of difficulty balance changes are going to fix the underlying problem of its core "Everything is nuke. Nuke everything." game design.
8/10
It's a good game but it does have flaws and in a way feels, like a step backwards from KH 1 and KH 2. A few questionable decisions was made by Tetsuya Nomura and Tai Yasue that just blows my fucking mind. With some DLC and some balancing patches, it can easily be a 9 or 9.5
>or Monsters Inc with the laugh bullshit.
You picked a bad example for your case. Monsters Inc world has a decent original story for the game. A being that is made from negative emotions goes to a world that harvests fear to repair himself.
Huge issues with core design of the game that you can't fix with a patch or FM version.
5/10
Like?
Personally I'd say it was a 9 that has the potential for a 10, but I really liked the ending. Either way, good post.
Different user here. I went back and played the first game and still enjoyed it. It's just the sequels sucked.
I'd lower it to a 7 solely for how shit the main plot is handled
I really thought 3 would be the game where they would actually give a shit about the story, considering on a Twitter poll they asked people what they cared the most about the series and the majority saying 'Story', but they didn't and it kind of dampened my experience
KH's story has always been less than average but this was almost as bad as DDD
rest of the game is pretty fun though
C+
Hard should have been the normal difficultly. Transformations are actually fun and add a layer to combat. Story is... play for the gameplay and charm. There's nothing to do after you get the ulitmate weapon. And the Secret Boss isn't that difficult.
S-shut up a guy on youtube told me this and he's played HUNDREDS of hours of KH2FM
Plot and story was just fine. Are you one of those people who didn't keep up with the mobile game?
If you don't expect some of this stuff when the entire premise of the series is Sora visiting Disney worlds, you may be retarded
> Do you know why Monsters Inc never got a sequel?
What does this have to do with Kingdom Hearts? Also I like how you don't give any examples, you just conclude it's infantile after telling an unrelated story.
Attractions and general focus on AOE in combat. Kinda feels like a musou game at spots.
Story is told/paced really poorly. The disney stories felt out of place since Sora/Donald/Goofy didn't necessarily learn anything from them.
The events in the batshit insane last arc are bizarre and made it seem like they ran out of money/time.
>Do you know why Monsters Inc never got a sequel?
Oh you. Sorry to break the news.
moviefone.com
>Attractions and general focus on AOE in combat. Kinda feels like a musou game at spots.
I'm confused how this is a bad thing that means the game is broken
>The events in the batshit insane last arc are bizarre
They fight and kill the bad guys. I dunno what was confusing.
did you play the same game?
>everything main story related saved until the end
>sora you can't save aqua until you get power of waking
>lol didn't actually need it to save aqua, also you had it all along
>everyone gives up and dies except sora because kairi has random powers that keep him alive
>sora can just revive people
>xehanort wanted balance all along and was a good guy
you cannot tell me these things are good
3 had a lot of good moments but also had a lot of bad, dumb moments that sour the experience
So far my biggest disappointment in maybe all my years of playing video games as I was excited for this only to be upset a couple of hours in. The only other one I played was 2 and I really wish I had just kept it at that. Combat is very bland in terms of what you are actually doing most of the time and the extra combat stuff isn't anything new and becomes stale quickly. Story is ass but well it's Kingdom Hearts what do you expect. The game looks amazing but that only keeps you drawn in for a while before you see the same shit over and over again. Its always been rpg lite which doesn't leave a lot of room for growth.
I guess it's fine if you like musou games.
It wasn't confusing, just underwhelming. The fights against the Org seemed like they should have been in the disney worlds, not back to back at the end. I like most of these characters and giving them more focus by spacing them out could have made the game way more engaging to play through.
>everything main story related saved until the end
Except for the cutaways after every world and the constant meetings with Organization members
>sora you can't save aqua until you get power of waking
Ok?
>lol didn't actually need it to save aqua, also you had it all along
You just said, he had it all along. I don't see the issue.
>everyone gives up and dies except sora because kairi has random powers that keep him alive
Kairi has random powers because she's a Princess of Light, which she's been since the first game.
>sora can just revive people
Yes it's the power of waking, you know the thing they brought up a bunch
>xehanort wanted balance all along and was a good guy
He wasn't a good guy al along. Heck, Xehanort just accepts his defeat in the end, he isn't redeemed.
I think you're the one who didn't pay attention user
>I guess it's fine if you like musou games.
But user you were saying that KH3 had fundamental problems that made it a 5/10 game.
>The fights against the Org seemed like they should have been in the disney worlds, not back to back at the end.
Oh but user this is a completely different argument now. I daresay you're moving the goalposts.
>I like most of these characters and giving them more focus by spacing them out could have made the game way more engaging to play through.
Oh ok you're just changing subjects completely.
8/10, needs critical mode, and more story in between disney worlds. Also Elsa should have been the boss of the Frozen world
kh2 is still the best, and i say that as someone who first played it last year, so i'm not blinded by nostalga
Fair enough.
I'm not good at arguing anyway so you win this one.
forgettable schlock
>Except for the cutaways after every world and the constant meetings with Organization members
nothing happened, people just talked but nothing progressed, only vexen and demyx getting a replica for roxas and namine is all they did, everything else was pointless
>You just said, he had it all along. I don't see the issue.
he didn't use it to save Aqua so it was pointless of everyone telling him he couldn't save her without it
>Kairi has random powers because she's a Princess of Light, which she's been since the first game.
so? that doesn't explain anything
>Yes it's the power of waking, you know the thing they brought up a bunch
its a broken abilitiy and sora just having is too continent for the plot, I don't care if there are "consequence" if the main character of the series is using a broken power, he'll be fine clearly
>He wasn't a good guy all along. Heck, Xehanort just accepts his defeat in the end, he isn't redeemed.
xehanort gets off with a slap on the wrist and is just allowed to go to gayblade heaven with eraques after all the shit he's done
again, tell me why these things are good
The last hour really made it for me, I was pretty bummed you didnt have a lot of walking around room that wasnt linear in the worlds this time around but I was mainly playing it for resolution which the last few dialogue scenes with all the characters really made it for me. Interactions these characters have been waiting to have and Ive been waiting to see for a decade; they really hit home for me and thats really all I wanted this game to deliver on.
Not a big fan of the combat this time around; not being able to cancel attractions/joint attacks to get to the next one had me playing through shitty modes that I really didnt want to use to begin with, not sure if you can disable ones you dont like as Im writing this I only beat the story yesterday so I havent had a lot of time to explore. The block system seems odd, not sure if I had to completely unbuffer any other attacks to make block work or if I'm missing a skill that makes it easier; something like the getup attack after air recovery which made fights 200% easier. Hard mode shouldve been normal mode, had to ramp it up because boss fights were underwhelming on normal.
Not a lot of variety with the missions, they were so formulaic you could always tell your mid story boss will be here or at the end of each gummi travel youre fighting a big boss, not a lot of surprising elements to the game at all really.
If Im wrong on anything please let me know, like I said I just beat the game so i have to go back and farm a few more lucky emblems for the Nomura ending, if theres any secret keyblades or bosses like the other game I've pretty much avoided any media on it for 4 months until I was able to play.
It's comparable to the vanilla KH2 (JP) version. If we get a final mix version it might surpass KH2 but right now KH2FM is still the best game in the series.
To Nomura;
You cheated not only the fanbase, but yourself.
You didn't grow.
You didn't improve.
You took a shortcut and gained nothing.
You experienced a hollow victory.
Nothing was risked and nothing was gained.
It's sad that you don't know the difference.
>nothing happened, people just talked but nothing progressed, only vexen and demyx getting a replica for roxas and namine is all they did, everything else was pointless
Riku and Mickey were actively finding out about Terr'a swhereabouts and piecing together that part of the mystery. Plus Sora found out about Ventus. And we confirmed that there's new Princesses of Heart. Just because you ignored it doesn't mean nothing happened.
>he didn't use it to save Aqua so it was pointless of everyone telling him he couldn't save her without it
Except that he used it to save Ven literally right after, and even then Sora is the one who had to dive into the darkness to get Aqua back.
>so? that doesn't explain anything
Yes it does, they even bring up during the game that Kairi can use a keyblade as well as her powers as a Princess of Light.
>its a broken abilitiy and sora just having is too continent for the plot
Why? You didn't seem to have a problem when Rike did it in DDD.
>I don't care if there are "consequence" if the main character of the series is using a broken power, he'll be fine clearly
Then why do you read any fiction or play any game? The MC will win in the end after all. That's a stupid argument.
>xehanort gets off with a slap on the wrist and is just allowed to go to gayblade heaven
He fucking died and we don't even know if heaven exists. Plus I think it wouldn't have tonally fit KH to have Xehanort die horribly.
Again, I don't see why these are bad, maybe just pay attention next time.
Has Nomura lost his touch? Because there should be no reason why KH 3 should have felt like a step backwards in some areas . Pacing for one. How in the fuck does KH 3 not have a middle act? Saving Aqua should have clearly been the middle act. There is no middle part . It’s just Sora fucking off in Disney worlds then suddenly it’s time to save Aqua then the Keyblade Graveyard finale.
It probably doesn’t help that Tai Yasue wants this series to be more casual and clearly has no idea what made KH 1 and KH 2 so amazing.
>not being able to cancel attractions/joint attacks to get to the next one
You can immediately cancel attractions, and you can scroll through the ones to activate with L2. I am actually shaking my head right now at you.
5/10 I guess it's my fault for having my expectations so high with the direction the series took.
Will most likely be 7/10 when KH 3.2 drops
Not an argument.
I bet you're a drooling DMC faggot.
Easily the weakest of the numbered installments, but still a good game over-all. The easy combat and lack of any substantial post-game is absolutely ridiculous.
>Easily the weakest of the numbered installments
>He likes KH1 more than 3
Gross
You mean besides just activating the attraction and then immediately hitting finish you can just completely skip it? Neat, thanks for the tip
KH1 had way more charm, a substantially better story, and much more satisfying combat. Plus there was actually interesting stuff to do when the game was over (i.e. Colosseum and super bosses).
So do you think KH3 is good? Better than 1 or 2?
Not an argument.
KH3 is easily one of the greatest games to come out for a while. It's also better than KH2. This game will easily surpass KH2FM with the DLC.
this honestly, and frozen is worst world cool boss tho and useful keyblade
No
It's the best one. GOTY even.
Get rid of your nostalgia goggles.
>barry is back shitting up threads again
Yes.
Yes.
Fuck off XV-kun.
No. It's not very fun
But it is tons of fun.
>Fun
Got anymore meaningless buzzwords for us, Barry?
Imagine being this wrong
Poopoo that I forced myself to finish
4/10
Good thing I'm not wrong at all.
XV-kun pls exit the thread.
Your IQ is below 20.
How combat is press X to win
7/10. Good game but cut way too many corners and felt unfinished. lacked critical difficulty at launch, gutted twilight town, hundred acre wood is literally one area with 3 similar minigames, you never get to actually explore the last world, the keyblade graveyard is short as fuck
Not on level 1. And even other modes you should be experimenting.
What the actual fuck
8/10?
It was like a fucking 6/10 at most. Do you people play any other videogames?
Your taste is fucking trash. Do you play other video games?
It's not even the best game that came out in January, let alone the entire year
Do you have any reason why youre labeling it a 6/10 or are you just here to attack people for not giving it the same score as you
KH3 easily beats it.
Retard
>experimenting
You legit just use whatever is best for the worlds or your stats. It's not like you really have much to deal with the game is pretty fucking easy.
The gameplay was beyond braindead, not a single challenging thing (also floaty)
The pacing was godawful from start to finish
Throwaway Org.13 characters
Plastic artstyle
Entire BBS trio jobbing
This fanbase
You people have no standards. The game managed to feel rushed after we waited like 15 years.
This thread is filled with fanboys, not humans.
Cringe
Based. An actual non-rushed, atmospheric, well done immersive experience.
Anyone who was alive with no disabilities when KH1 dropped thinks KH3 was a huge disappointment.
>You legit just use whatever is best for the worlds or your stats
No lol. You don't drop keyblades you like that have good transformations. You are supposed to experiment with different combos and attacks and there is a shit ton of them. Level 1 is balanced and makes good use of that.
>any criticism of KH3 can only come from Barry
My man, in case you haven't noticed - Your game has one attack button.
>different combos and attacks and there is a shit ton of them
You people don't play other video games. I'm weak. Lmao.
Yeah 3 hour game is not rushed at all
The pacing is all over the place, the characters feel lackluster and it all feels uninspired.
It tries to be too many things, but none of it seem to work.
There's too many finishers and specials, too many cutscenes even in combat, too many minigames and your companions are just useless.
I especially hated tangled and frozen, where they just drop you in the middle of the story and try to insert the characters in the most jarring way possible.
I don't get how people rate this an 8 or a 9.
>muh atmospheric immersion
Lol shut the fuck up KH3 destroyed that game.
Not an argument
I don't think you know what rushed means. It has nothing to do with how fast a player went through it.
You could beat the originals in less time. You'd know that if you played video games and not hand-holding fanservice bullshit.
>you actually fight Gothel and Hans, as heartless.
Davy Jones was one of the best fights because it was Disney and has fun visuals. But he was still piss poor easy as hell.
>Not an argument
Yep KH3 destroyed it and it's the better game.
I'll humor you lol
Can you please elaborate how it destroyed it? Sales aren't an argument - And if they are, Call of Duty must be the best franchise ever to you. Right?
The actual game length is 3 hours though not speedruns
>Your game has one attack button.
>Press X to do shit combos with Mystic Staff, Magic Launcher, or Counter Shield
>Or Evade first with Mystic Staff to spam clones, Hold R2 to launch grenade launcher shells with Magic Launcher, and Square to block with Counter Shield to absorb hits before returning them
>One attack button
Read the post again. That has nothing to do with a game being rushed.
A game being rushed would be for example, an entire world where you get knocked down and do the same paths over and over.
Just like re2.
You don't have to do any of that and you never did.
You can beat the entire game with the floaty batman attack button while looking at the pretty animations and colors.
That didn't happen a single time in RE2. You'd know that if you played it.
its shit
this thread needs more bara heartless
Not at level 1, faget. Continue to evade the argument.
>Anyone who was alive with no disabilities when KH1 dropped thinks KH3 was a huge disappointment.
It's not just this. Kingdom Hearts as a game series has gotten worse. Does it even have a future? Even Nomura personally doubts that KH has a future. Let's be honest the story is garbage and the gameplay is questionable overall. Not every game plays like KH2FM, only that specific game plays like that, everything else plays worse and worse and sloppier.
And if you don't like Disney's garbage shilling you're not going to enjoy this series. KH3 selling well is a horrible sign, but it also means another thing, this is probably the final time Kingdom Hearts will ever receive such global hype. Tell me how you old farts are going to feel about Kingdom Hearts like 9-10 years from now when Kingdom Hearts 4 is going to get released (after of course FF7 Episodic Remake) because I assure you new kid gamers don't care very much about Kingdom Hearts. You could put in movies that new kid gamers grew up with like Wreck It Ralph, but the main story is STILL the driving force of this franchise and new kid gamers aren't going to feel welcomed when told "Oh you need to play the ENTIRE Xehanort Saga to understand about Riku's characterization and what he constantly refers to, Sora's clones, etc and don't forget the mobile gacha game." Really I see this series majorly decrease in sales. It's novelty expired and it really doesn't much of a future because it's a mess. It's a mess in story, it's a mess in gameplay, it's a mess because Nomura is bad. I'm ready to see Kingdom Hearts die already. And Nomura needs to be banned from working on any given SE franchise. He's horrible at his job.
They are two completely different games, but yes KH3 destroyed it in sales. Just because something is popular, doesn't mean it's good. In this case however KH3 rightfully swiped that game's sales.
That's not rushed. That's Disney interfering with the story and setting of the world, which did not make it bad at all.
It was fun to play through but the lack of difficulty or endgame content kills any replayability.
I'm fine waiting for those updates since I've got other shit to play.
>The pacing is all over the place, the characters feel lackluster and it all feels uninspired.
None of the characters in this series are substantial or are good. Maybe only Riku is substantial. But everyone else? They're just Shounen stereotypes in one way or another. And it hurts that a good chunk of them are clones from other characters.
if you magic build, ever after is all you need. fucking melts everything.
>And if you don't like Disney's garbage shilling you're not going to enjoy this series.
Honestly user, I truly 100% at my core believe Kingdom Hearts fans are legitimately low IQ / autistic / have aspergers. Not a joke, not an exaggeration.
These people don't care. They don't even have an EYE for things like that. They're going to continue eating shit forever just so they can see their dumb fucking deviantart OCs interact. It's hilarious and sad. I love KH threads.
I still need to finish my meme pic
having them turn into heartless dont count.
Look at this brainlet taking himself so serious
seething.
Hundred Acre Wood feels tacked on.
San Fransokyo had maybe a half hour of actual gameplay, excluding cutscenes and the time I spent afterwards getting all the treasure/emblems.
Randall should have been a boss in Monsters Inc. Why'd they bother building him up otherwise?
More Disney bosses.
Sora and the boys weren't really involved in the plots of some worlds at all, especially with Frozen, Pirates, and Tangled. Half the fun was seeing the story play out differently because Sora and co. are there.
Nothing more falsity than the words of a pseudo-intellectual who lacks any self-awareness. KH attracts your bunch like flies on shit.
I agree with 8 out of 10. I really liked the words better than previous installments though. Olympus felt like the ending to God of War 3, Toy Story was better than I expected, Tangled was good, the only weak one I felt was frozen and that's because the mountain design was terrible and you couldn't visit the town itself.
I wonder if the rumors are true that square is just not going to do DLC and just turn the DLC into it's own game and have that be ready for the PS5 launch? I mean they're probably going to have Kairi be the MC for the next leg.
Then again Kingdom hearts Celebrates it's 20th anniversary in 2022 and if the game comes out in 2019 they'll have to have something for it's 20th anniversary
Do you have problems reading?
Not as good as 2 or even 1 if you ask me. 1 is pretty old but it paces itself far better and it’s combat options have more variety in utility. Too many of KH3’s moves have overlap in utility.
It’s story is also one of the worst in the series. Barely being beaten out by Coded and that’s it. It ya small the problems DDD has except even more pressure was on this game’s plot. Some of its decisions are brave but the dialogue this time around can be utterly painful.
It masks by having some of the best cutscene direction and score in the series, but it doesn’t hide the fact so many of the cutscenes are devoid of any purpose or emotion.
So much if the dialogue is just regurgitating already known information. They kind of have to, I get it, I would’ve preferred they hadn’t.
>probably the final time Kingdom Hearts will ever receive such global hype
>I see this series majorly decreasing in sales
This, me and both of my friends who liked KH have sworn off the series after this
The only way they could recover is they just rebooted the series completely, the long convoluted story needs to be completely scrapped
Playing that card isn't going to make you look any less dumb, shitlet.
Its press x with no direction. Win. It's not very deep. You use attacks with the most damage nothing more.
Nomura is going to put Stella in the next KH game. You're getting your fucking true version of 15 weather you want it or not.
Watch then pull another 2.8 and turn extra content into a full game and have everything just be Square Enix Worlds.
You're probably right, after all Disney's shitty Live Action Remakes for Aladdin, Lion King, Cinderella, etc are all bound to be successful because of such low standards people.
Honestly, once you grow up you see Disney in a different light. I hate Disney as a corporation. I hate what bullshit falsehood propaganda they make and honestly their films have a lot of budget money wasted on them, but they don't tell any good stories because their main motto is "Animation is for Kids." Disney is complete trash as a company and the only reason they rose to such power is 1) they never had actual competition when Walt was running things 2) They realized that women are an easy demographic to appeal to and get them to SPEND MONEY.
And don't say that women aren't easy:
youtube.com
See that. Most of the people there hyped for KH3 are twats. And that's Disney's bread and butter. I'm done with this series and I wish the series itself was finished. The next game better flop. Too tired of seeing this garbage that refuses to die when KH2 had a decent enough ending. Don't care about the stupid box, the stupid Furry Convention (the animal mask foretellers), etc. You really need to be autistic to keep enjoying this garbage. We live in a world where Kingdom Hearts is more popular than Sonic and Sonic was usually seen as THE autistic series.
>Olympus felt like God of war 3
No it fucking did not.
the reactions for Lingering Will are accurate as fuck
I don't care about looking dumb to people who actually enjoy Kingdom Hearts you fucking loser lmao irl
Not on level 1. KH's core battle system is a treasure of video games, and you can't help but find out how every move works.
You're not looking dumb, you are dumb and you should be killed for your stupidity.
Oh it absolutely did, God of War 3 did the whole city burning event where you take out the Sun Chariot and rip hermes legs off as the titans are invading.
The music in the KH3 level even felt like it belonged to a western game.
It's not just the long convoluted story that's problematic. Think about it Nomura's policy is this:
"Sora will forever be the protagonist of the series HOWEVER Sora will never mature, never develop, never ever grow up in any way and in fact he is a stereotypical hopeless STUPID Shounen Stereotype like Luffy from One Piece."
Who has the patience to put up long term with such an objectively BAD protagonist? The story being garbage is one thing. But if the protagonist is unbearably stupid then damn you already hurt the plot in a different way. No one likes unappealing main leads.
>Says he doesnt care
>Keeps replying
I wonder who is the true loser here
Lingering Will was such a missed opportunity. The few moments of screentime he had were kino as fuck though.
>KH's core battle system is a treasure of video games
you'd kill your entire family and then yourself if you ever played a DmC game
you have a lot to learn
It's shallow as fuck. What fucking combos are you even talking about?
Its because hes getting paid to incite arguments on the internet. People are actually employed for that sort of thing. If not then he's really just a loser doing it for free lmao
Still mad :(
It didn't.
Sonic's fanbase is seen as more autistic because of the massive amount of fanart, fanfiction, and OC's they shit out
Kingdom Hearts' fanbase isn't anywhere near as bad, though it's still really cringy and autistic
>People are actually employed for that sort of thing
What? Tell me more.
>DmC
I played every single DMC including DmC. I literally just beat 5 before I hopped into this thread about an hour ago. The difference is that DMC isn't an action RPG, it's an action game. KH is an action RPG with such a refined action RPG battle system, nothing can top it. Nothing can top KH2FM's superb battle system and not even 3.
There is loads of shit you can do. Being an action RPG, it doesn't get enough credit for the incredible battle system. Name another game where you can attack and use magic fluidly in between your combo, or attack and change direction to get other enemies behind you. You can switch keyblades during a combo if you time the button right at the end of an attack's animation, and if you have a form you will switch to that form's combo string.
>Of all the games you could pick from to use as an example of combat you chose DmC
You really are retarded, next you're going to mention Sekiro as your game of choice. Did they kick you out of their threads too? Is that why you're here?
Worst console KH game by far.
It pales in comparison to dmc5. I dont believe you played dmc 5.
5.5/10. Needs a Final Mix badly.
Everything you mentioned devil may cry does and so does the latest final fantasy.
>time the button right
Nigga it's a meter you fucking fill
>sekiro is bad
too inaccessible 4 u?
T. Never played KH2FM
>DMC5 and Sekiro have bad combat
>Are you one of those people who didn't keep up with the mobile game?
Most of the essential mobile game bits that aren't in Back Cover are still Japan-only, on top of there being no "finished" product for a large amount of fans to get into. I've kept up on it, but that's asking millions of fans globally to keep up on a couple Youtube channels translating these things as soon as they come out for a few years' worth of missions from a mobile game that suddenly became plot-integral in between DDD and 3.
Oh I didn't? It doesn't pale in comparison. I got everything I ever wanted out of KH3, which was a superb action RPG. DMC 5 is great in it's own right.
7.5/10
>ok gameplay albeit too easy
>story accumulates into a sack of putrid fukushima tier nuclear waste
>Nomura knows that us fans are aware of more games, but couldn't keep the sequel baiting until the secret movie
>Big Hero Six, Tangled and Frozen suck
>Fuck Frozen especially, since that shit represents the arrogance and no-risk play it safe attitude of Iger's Disney
>No old favorites like Oathkeeper and Oblivion
>needs way more worlds
Otherwise in other regards it's not the worst game out there but it is pretty underwhelming
they dont have bad combat but out of all of the games in the universe you could list those are your go-to options? Really?
One of the worst games I've ever played in my life. You literally have to be autistic to defend this game.
see
>People are acting like they just now realized the writing was some shit
That's strange. I remember a large portion of the fanbase making fun of the writing 13 years ago and not really changing since then.
It does. It's a sub par game all around. It does nothing new nor exciting in the series. Is easy as all get out and overall a disappointment. I regret this purchase and feel cheated with how little their truly is in the game. Whatever combos and shit you are talking about please link or show a video because I genuinely have no idea what you are on about when you say this game has "an excellent well rounded battle system."
Expect Back Cover to get a remake into a single player game similar to Recoded or RECOM. Granted they did the movie already, but it wasn't enough.
AAAAAAY JOEY
They're relevant games to reference since they just came out and are fresh in everyone's minds
What would have made you happy, if he referenced God Hand instead?
God Hand is hot garbage compared to any DMC
>play game as a child
>love it because too young to care about convoluted storylines but hey look all my favorite characters
>become invested enough to have enough effect to make me want to finish the story even when Im older
>no complaints about the game but also no praise, just finishing it to see it through and move on
>people who didnt play the game or take it as something much more serious come in to the discussion after their latest podcast listening session to tell you how immature you are for not dropping old childhood memories as soon as you turn the age of an adult in the eyes of society and you should no longer have fun with games that arent marketed to you like Mortal Kombat or the latest gun shoot-em up
I dont see the point. What do you gain by arguing against a game you didnt enjoy if you were never really a fan of it to begin with? Complaints like are understandable; a fan of the series didnt enjoy how the director took the game in a certain direction, but if youve never played the games or gave up on them a long time ago and are just here to call people manbabies for even continuing on with the series then why are you here?
No. No it wasn't. It does everything exciting, from story to combat. Kingdom Hearts is one of the best series for experimentation and challenges, and that's no different here. Level 1 is still as balanced as 2's. If you can't see how great this combat is then you don't know shit about video games. There isn't anything as complex as DMC's action system, but it's not action game. It's an action RPG. For an action RPG with this amount of depth is insane.
Nigger, what the fuck makes you think Randall would be a satisfying fight? Sora would beat him with a single strike from his Keyblade. Most modern Disney villains just don't make for good bosses. Mother Gothel's a frail old lady, that what's-his-name prince is literally just a dude.
>why would you reference games with good combat in a discussion about games with good combat
cringe
The big problem with 3's combat, besides lack of difficulty and magic builds being overpowered, is just too many goddamn nukes. Attract Flow just means you basically get free damage in, and while you can take some damage in the process it's a severely negated amount even on Proud. That and a lot of enemies aren't that fun to fight, honestly.
The Big Bodies are the best example. Up until 3 they had a fairly straightforward method of a couple direct attacks, but their backs are exposed. What does 3 do to make them relevant? Give them red berserk modes that make them nigh-unapproachable as they quick turn and bumrush you for seconds on end slapping your ass. Way too many enemies and bosses pull this shit, where it's time to evade and do nothing but that until they return to being hittable. It's not even challenging, and the endgame humanoid bosses all fall into the same trap of losing a health bar (or two) from a combo, throwing out basic combos and then going invulnerable berserk mode for a minute, rinse and repeat.
Removing Reaction Commands really took a lot of possible per-fight unique charm out of the game really.
>play god of war
>wow this is nothing like breath of the wild what the fuck this game is all wrong
Thats literally the type of comparison youre making right now retard
>story
No its anime bullshit. It is if you really wanna debate the story of all things please don't as honestly this is a preference but jesus chirst as a guy who has watched anime for nearly 15 years at this point it is nothing new or even note worthy.
Ok in that video he isnt doing very much at all. It's simple X to a triangle to switch to a new form and press x again to do a different boring attack then r1 x to do the dumb lock on and then up or down on the d pad to select magic. Wow crazy.
GOOD:
>best world designs
>amazing soundtrack
>keyblade transformations are cool
>Sora, Donald and Goofy are amazing
>Gummi Ship is perfected
>most enemies are satisfying to attack
>even some giant bosses are good
BAD:
>perhaps the worst pacing in KH history
>no new characters
>characters who have been boring in the past are not better now
>pathetically easy game
>lots of non-Yoko Shimomura tracks
>attractions feel tacked on
>barely any humanoid boss fights until endgame
>Skoll and Lump of Horror have way too much HP
>Riku and Kairi are very lame in this game
I'd give it a 7/10
>Give them red berserk modes that make them nigh-unapproachable as they quick turn and bumrush you for seconds on end slapping your ass.
literally the only time fat bois were even slightly threatining was the slide attack by the viking ones
sora is so mobile now you can literally just mash their shit in with zero effort
no, it isn't
strawman harder, faggot
Sora has become the opposite of cutscene Dante where he’s treated like he’s hopeless in cutscenes but in gameplay he’s a god. Rock Titan is a tutorial boss in 3 and he sends him hurtling down Mount Olympus and acts like it was nothing.
I guess I just wasn't good at handling them then, but you know what I mean right? Like every 'tough' enemy type has that one move that does nothing but waste your time or multi-hit you to be annoying, even with how overpowered Sora is making it moot?
>anime bullshit
Yeah sorry but anime bullshit is good. Realistic stories are garbage and high fantasy is where it's at.
And he IS doing much you idiot. You don't just switch to the next form. When you attack, and switch to the next keyblade, you will switch to the next keyblade's combo string. So he is switching strategically to make it look cool, and that's some of the crazy things you can do in KH. What the fuck are you retarded? Do you expect there to be DMC inputs? It's an action RPG you numbskull. You just don't want to admit it's good.
Same goes for DMC.
No matter how hopeless he is, he wouldn't lose to fucking Randall. Have you even seen that movie?
>there are people on Yea Forums RIGHT NOW that play games in normal mode
That’s what I mean. There no way they could make Randall by himself a convincing enough threat to be a boss. They would have to make him like the Oogie Boogie fights and they all suck.
>sniveling coward Randall would be a satisfying fight!
>making shit look cool
>some of the crazy shit
If I wanted to just press x and see some cool shit I could just throw up a movie up on my ps4. Also what do you mean you don't just switch to the next form? There is a skill that does it automatically for you for shits sake. I expected more at least 2 had cool triangle promps every once and a while.
This isnt even meh high fantasy
Nomura is only as good as his team.
He has cool ideas and has the ambition to make something as great as he possibly can, but he also has a oenchant to spiral out of control.
He wants to make the game as great as possible, but that means he wabts to cram everything he thinks is cool.
Like if he saw a musical he liked, he would say that he wants to add a musical the next day in the office.
He needs someone that can put a leash on his autism and channel it, but from what I heard Tai Yasue isn't the guy who can do that.
I'll play Final Mix. The story ended at 2, but I can enjoy a good colorful action game.
>The story ended at 2
lol
>There is a skill that does it automatically for you for shits sake
You don't know what you're talking about. If you would rather boot up a movie it's obvious you don't play games. It's great high fantasy and you're just a casual.
>Hundred Acre Wood feels tacked on.
When doesn't it? Hell every world feels tacked on. Once you leave a world nothing lingers on.
It was pretty fucking disappointing and was made for Disney babbies
>caring about the unprecedented autism fest that succeeded it
We can't save you.
Hello scrub
>make the best bad guy in a long time
>proceed to not include him
Why?
7/10 until they do a FM version.
Iger Disney just puts in whats popular with normies.
>tfw no Chernabog boss for 3
Making a black bad guy with voodoo magic probably would not fly in current year.
All 4 of those points are arguments, you might be retarded
This is what someone says when they’re trying to justify why other people got to experience a game first.
Sounds about right. Honestly, a lot of his ideas for KH3 were excellent. The Caribbean is legitimately one of the best worlds in the entire franchise. Attraction Flow is a cool idea on paper, as since Kingdom Hearts is a celebration of Disney, it makes perfect sense to bring the theme park attractions into it, but at the same time it hurts the gameplay flow a bit too much. If it were more seamless, it might have been better, but it's also a bit too cheap and overpowered.
Speaking of theme park attractions, one of the coolest things about some of the worlds, particularly Monstropolis and San Fransokyo, is how the general pacing and styles of these worlds play out like a theme park attraction. It reminded me of shit like the Back to the Future ride at Universal Studio or Star Tour at Disneyland. This is a game that's truly soaked in appreciation and love for Disney, perhaps to the detriment of the rest of the game.
Frozen world is probably the worst world of the bunch, but I do appreciate parts of it. I actually like the ice labyrinth and just wish it was more properly tied into the story and narrative. The Frozen world as a whole was severely hurt by Disney's meddling. San Fransokyo is really cool too, but in practice it's kinda clunky.
You were never a true fan, secondary
Fantasia got a whole world in DDD. It was pretty well done.
I want Chernabog to fuck my bussy
>If a white guy used voodoo magic it would be labeled cultural appropriation.
There’s just no winning.
OC fags are the real secondaries, because anyone using that term is an jerkoffs who doen't play video games for anything but the anime storylines.
BUT WHO CARES
NO BIG DEAL
I WANT MOOOOOOOAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!
>people whine for inclusiveness
>make a movie with a black princess raised in shitty economical times, and a black antagonist who practices voodoo down south.
>this wouldn't fly in (current year)
I want to believe you're bullshitting.
Suck me.
This game a dumpster fire and a waste of money, efforts and time of everyone who worked on it. It has the least amount of shit compared to other numbered titles and pales in comparison.
Switching keyblades mid combo doesnt do much as every fucking attack has huge range anyways and the game is laughable easy
>play Sanfransokyo
>get up to the part where everyone from big hero 6 is speaking with each other
>Honey Lemon is talking normally
>The next moment she sounds like she just stepped off the boat
did they have some other person do her lines in some instances or is this like the SNL Skit with Jimmy Smits where normiesonly pronounce spanish words with a retarded accent?
>DmC
There have been some ongoing rumors that Disney meddled extra hard with some of the disney stuff that is in the gane.
So that might explain why some of them are so lackluster.
We're just lucky that pixar was so cool about everything and actually collaborates with nomura.
they do mention something about Honey Lemon being some form of spic so I assumed she was argentinian or uruguayan but they just use the typical "gringo" spanish. shits annoying dude
Seething hard.
Backed into a corner real quick eh?
"Theme park attraction" describes a lot of the game pretty well. But this isn't a ride, it's a game, so creative priorities shouldn't gear towards the former.
>eating the shit that was the handhelds and KHUX makes you a good fan
nope.
I fucking believe it 100%. Not even Eisner was that fucking petty when it came to protecting their shit, hell besides Mickey KH1 actually managed to make the Disney characters seem like they actually had anything to do with the plot
>YFW your name was on one of the keyblades in the Keyblade Graveyard
>He doesn't like to play videogames
IMAGINE being this retard
I still think it beats a lot of the boring hallways in previous games.
Next game is apparently all Square Enix worlds. So something must have happened.
It wasn't bad in retrospect.
>Graphics are stellar
>The combat was eye candy although easy until CM content makes it interesting
>The gummi missions and exploration are by far the best the series ever had
>Worlds are massive (aside from Twighlight Town although it was mostly empty alleys in 2)
>You keep your party as well as utilizing the Disney cast at the same time
>Final Organization bosses were memorable
Kingdom Hearts is unironically a guilty pleasure as a whole. The seriousness mixed with absurdity makes the whole series fun. As a game, it's a bit underwhelming, but as a Kingdom Hearts game, it was really fulfilling. Aside from the Disney plot mishaps, the rest of the game just needs minor tweaking and it will almost be a guaranteed GOAT
Only pigs eat whatever slop their owner gives them.
Yeah I can imagine it being all contractual BS. Because Disney can totally trust the right people to make video games
I always thought she was appropriating culture like an average American girl always does
Beast somehow making it all the way to Hollow Bastion on his own is my favorite use of a Disney character in the story. Donald and Goofy being top tier bros in 3 comes close though.
4/10 at best, It's super easy on the hardest difficulty and the story is somehow worse than ever. On top of this there's 50 new mechanics that all just waste time and do less damage than spamming X. They also removed drive forms to put in keyblades transformations but then gave us shitty ones. Hey guy what if you had a keyblade turned into shit baby drills or a dumb hammer or oh oh YOYOS lmao. Instead we could have had upgraded drive forms and cool moves but lol Sora forgot how to fight again! Also was suppose to end the arc but instead just add more stupid bullshit to it. Honestly I would rate it lower but even with the retarded dialogue and shit pacing/gameplay I still enjoyed it more than say the witcher 3
>The Carribean
>good
yea no.
Driving around killing ships was cool.
I honestly just have a pet peeve of anyone speaking any language badly. Spics or japs speaking broken english, mega weebs fucking up japanese, and american whites fucking up spanish all pisses me off
I hated the ship combat.
>that time Doland and Goffy left Sora to die in Hollow Bastion because of a vague order to follow the Keyblade
"Friends"...
Hardcore tryhard esport players BTFO'd
Casuals who only played 1 and 2 BTFO'd
Master Race who played all the games on normal rewarded by a game, although it has flaws, has tons of passion in it and completely captures the feeling that 1/2 had.
Different user here, do you play World of Warships and if so would you like to group up?
Just wasn't much more then eye candy that got real stale real quick to me.
I played and beaten all games in the series in Proud mode except for Chain, 358/2, and Re:Coded and I still think KH3 is meh
what now
I still think the game had some legit issues like the story pacing, cutting 0,2 as the prologue and putting it in 2.8 as tech demo hurt the pacing of the story a lot.
The same goes to there not being a mig midpoint like the battle at hollow bastion.
Kh was always backloaded, but KH3 was backloaded a fuck ton even for kh standards.
Not to mention that there is no colisseum anf how hard they neutered pooh bear.
KH3 team and Nomura have made plenty of fault, but I don't believe it was only on them.
Lol, none of those abilities refer to what you were talking about. You're a fucking idiot. Nothing you said holds any value since you fail to grasp the brilliance of the combat system.
Switching keyblades mid combo initiates devastating attacks more quickly depending on the form change you switch to and the certain combo string. It's not laughably easy on level 1. Get out.
I think the big issue is that people expected Kingdom Hearts to have a plotted story which would have beats and go somewhere, whereas Tetsuya Nomura wants to write like he's working on Shonen Jump.
This all their fault, the execs, osaka team, and Nomura
>Wreck it ralph world
>UX gets it
How does it feel knowing you will NEVER be able to affect the future of the games and they will still be enjoyed by lots of people no matter how much you seethe? There is literally NOTHING you can do to change this.
>thinks he beat the real final boss
>didn't do any of the side quests
This. Most of the problems it has can be fixed with updates and dlc.
Feels like I would just have to enjoy the good parts of the game that Nomura didn't rush on. I never said KH3 was on the same level of Shadow the Hedgehog, Sonic 06, FFXV, or Mega Man X3, now those are bad games
Feels like never buying a Square product again, while enjoying discussion about the original games and shitting on the pathetic post-2 ones and their secondary fans.
You done masturbating there user?
>KH3 sold 5 million copies
> Square Enix is now expecting a million more to sell within the quarter bringing the total sales numbers to 6 million
I dunno I thought the series couldn't get any bigger and yet it has. This is now Square's best selling title in nearly a decade.
Nigger we all got Ultima Weapon even though Frozen Slider is the DUMBEST. FUCKING. SHIT.
FUCK YOU. I swear to fucking god I am SICK OF THIS GODDAMN MOTHERFUCKING MOUNTAIN HOLY FUCKING SHIT.
>YFW HE'S IN the next KH game as a merchant running a shop with his son and daughter along with his wife Zero
so who is the master of masters and why is it demyx
What about FFXV?
If this means more KH faster I am for it. At least I hope this keeps Square from going more into the mobile game direction. Or maybe just slow down their change into only mobile games.
>laughing SE executives
If it's not Demyx, I'm returning my copy of KH1 to GameCrazy. I don't care if it's an auto parts store now.
it already outdid it's sales figures
2B would be more likely. We already got the machine enemies getting a nod so a bigger Automata cameo is not implausible.
lel, relying on the "you're just jealous!" defense, as if it matters how many people play a game before you.
As a long time kingdom hearts fan, it's pretty bad. The story is so disconnected and lost at this point. Makes no sense. the world are pretty bad and lack any original plot, and all of the characters no longer feel like they belong in the game
You weren't here for 2 vanilla eh?
It does. You can clearly see it just as I can. The combat isn't brilliant, I get what you are saying with the keyblade switching but we basically did that in other games like bloodbrone with mid combo switches.
You only carry 3 key blades and honestly you use about 2 and 1 for back up, atleast that was how I played.
>As a long time kingdom hearts fan
Saying this in the beginning doesn't give you any credit. You don't know shit about the series in general and you were never a fan.
Riku and Kairi both feel like they need to get this game over with so they can go shopping or clean their bathrooms. Their characters are so beyond this anime shit that Sora looks like a complete retard by comparison.
>The only worlds where there were clear restrictions and meddling were Tangled and Frozen
It's almost as if Disney survives almost solely on marvel and Disney princesses.
Every other world either continued the events after the movie(big Hero 6) or went off in it's own direction and gave you new areas that were not in any of the movies(Toy Story)
>We already got the machine enemies getting a nod
sauce
Sonics fanbase hasn't been genuine for over a decade. All that "huhuhu coldsteel OC" shit you see is ironic.
I know about frozen but what did they meddle with in the tangled world? Seemed fine to me
Imagine being this desperate to look like a real fan of Kingdom Hearts when you just want to go play Granblue or FGO. We know you started the series with UX, dude.
Both Frozen and Tangled were just retellings of the movies where as everywhere else was not.
If only the story was better. I'd take the absolute nonsensical plot of 3d over this shit any day
KH is almost always just the movie
I started with 2 and played every game since. You obviously know nothing about the series.
so is the secret ending teasing the next kingdom hearts being a kh/tweyw crossover, a regular kingdom hearts with a tweyw world, or a cameo of sora and riku on a new twewy game?
>I started with 2
That explains a lot.
Frozen happened probably. All that effort into creating that world for what amounts to fuck all plot relevance and a shitty linear design to the point that even the villain didn't interfere with the plot.
>I started with 2
OH NO NO NO
You can see a nod to their design on the Omega Machine boss.
i stopped playing after i finished the disney worlds because the kh story is lolworthy
it's the best fucking world, along with toy box and kingdom of corona
Since the pic is a bit of a cluster fuck. Look for the round heads sticking out of these guys.
>Next game is apparently all Square Enix worlds
sauce? you're just making this shit up
Why is it called KH 2.9 in the beginning ? Never read anyone discussing this
It's a joke at their naming schemes
Nomura's autism and it made me cringe hard.
eh bit a stretch
They're self aware that the game was rushed and unfinished
People laugh because it isn't a GOTY contender, but in truth, no KH game ever was. It's definitely better than all the side games, and choosing between 1, 2 and 3 is a matter of personal choice desu, they're pretty close.
KH2FM is still the best game in the series, but it's miles better than the regular 2, and imo 3 is already better than the regular 2, so if they come out with a final mix version or good dlc, it might take the cake
Viirricc on YouTube is doing a pretty intense playthrough. Check him out.
Love it!!!
They have the same head shape, eye shape, eye color, and eye outline. Plus they are aliens and it is a spaceship in a game known for crossovers and references. Not really that big a stretch they threw a nod to another Square game. Saying there is some plot or story going on there would be a stretch, but the gummi team throwing in a reference is pretty mild.
btw thermosphere
youtube.com
>when the best song in KH3 is a remix of PS1 track by a totally different composer
Shimomura and her underlings failed us.
He's been making us wait a long time for KH3 to come out, and he made this as a tongue-in-cheek joke to wait a bit longer
>Hahahaha you have to wait a bit longer and play the prologue that sets the tone/plot before the actual game begins
If the other Disney worlds were actually palatable and not underwhelming, then it would've been a good joke
Come to think of it, there's really no need to limit themselves to Final Fantasy in the first place. They may as well go all out and use other viable Squeenix IPs. I doubt Yoko Taro would say no either.
I loved it!!!
Twilight Town in II was pretty much 1.9 anyway.
A mix between "solid 7/10 game" and "this was made in a weekend"
Gummi bosses also included Einhander cameos. They are already branching out from FF.
Since KH is already fanfiction-tier, it would actually be a welcoming addition
It's a decent game that suffered the fate of being the most important game in the series. It's biggest strength is it's greatest weakness, that being you have the largest, most powerful moveset in the series. It's a weakness because as awesome as your asskicking capability is, nothing can challenge you unless you're clearly underleveled or it's the anchor heartless. The game would actually be praised more if Sora was nerfed.
They do count though
I wish "He's a Pirate" would have played for the final boss. That ending sequence was so close to perfect.
Are the anchor heartless that hard? Their mobility's a bit annoying but they weren't that difficult even on Proud.
On the other hand, I kinda feel that Xehanort was one of the tougher final story bosses in the series. Certainly moreso than that pussybitch Xemnas was.
Honestly? Just transition KH into tidbits of Disney, and instead make it more of a Square-Enix multiverse. Dragon Quest x Kingdom Hearts would sell gangbusters in Japan, and having some Brave Fencer Musashi or Vagrant Story, or even some ol' Bahamut Lagoon or Treasure of Rudra references in there would be nuts.
but of course Square wouldn't even reference Mana or Chrono, much less any series like those anymore, goddammit
It was fun, but vapid. The gameplay went out of its way to make sure you could win easily using any strategy. Hell, you can beat most of the Org boss rush by blocking attacks and letting your allies do all the work. Also, magic is hilariously OP.
As for the writing, I get that Sora is literally brain damaged after CoM and DDD mindfucked him, but all the other characters throwing that in his face got old really quickly. And the dialogue got really stilted and awkward at times.
Aqua looks fine-ish in-game, but compare those fucking juicy thighs of Kairi and specially Naminé in that pic and then how potato they look in-game, it's embarassing. Plus Kairi only makes a gameplay apperance in that battle and I've yet to see someone sucessfully taking a decent upskirt pic of her. Naminé only appears in the ending scene but it doesn't even matter because her legs are half the size of the mouth watering art
4/10 game
The anchor heartless were only difficult to me because I was caught off guard from actually getting pushed back by an attack pattern. The entirety of the final world from Heartless Army to the final boss against Xehanort with the X-Blade almost single-handedly absolved all of KH3's sins.
Anyone else feel like every Disney world dragged on too long? Even with Toy Story I just wanted it to end already by the time I got to the boss
All the people complaining about the game being too easy know they can just not use any of the triangle abilities right?
Alright let's direct our attention at the Elephant in the Room. The reason Dr. Facilier didn't happen is because get this, his movie was BAD. Not only was it bad, it was an underseller. And not only that, it was NOT popular. Tiana's merchandise is the one that sells the LEAST of the Disney Princess brand. So why would Square Enix include a world that's NOT popular? And this is what is keeping out Atlantis and Treasure Planet just in case you haven't figured it out. Kingdom Hearts is about putting in the Disney Movies that are POPULAR. I repeat Square Enix and Disney are interested ONLY in the POPULAR POPULAR POPULAR films.
Have you finally accepted reality. Don't you find it suspicious how from the Disney Renaissance you don't see Rescuers or Pocahontas? Needless to say Disney's Dark Age doesn't really have any worlds unless you count the 101 Dalmation sidequest which is still not a world at all my bros. As far as Pixar goes there is no way that Ratatouille will evolve to get a world, much like 101 Dalmations it will stay a side quest. The only thing Disney, Pixar, and SE want is popular selections. So expect FROZEN to be repeated again and probably get repeated more than Olympus Coliseum because that's one of the few Disney films to have official sequels. Expect more garbage that suits Disney's agendas like Feminism so expect Brave as well.
Kingdom Hearts is going to shit and it's because the movies we have to make worlds out of are either agenda pushing shit or need to be majorly popular with normies like Incredibles or Frozen to even be selected. In some cases it's both like Zootopia which is popular and also agenda pushing excrement designed to indoctrinate children into accepting multiculturalism......shit man Disney is a real shit corporation and has been shit for many years now. It's disappointing to see that THIS is what will consume Kingdom Hearts. Disney's newer crappier movies.
It’s shit and fails to live up to the 13 years of hype. It has less content than games that came out in the early 2000s on the PS2. The gameplay was designed by a bunch of toddlers who like doing nothing to win fights, and the story/dialogue was by far the worst out of any game released this year. Sales accurately reflect how bad this game really was with it not even outselling KH1 or KH2, while also being less memorable than those two. But KHfags are cucked and will continue to say it’s a good game as they buy the DLC and new rereleases.
>I kinda feel that Xehanort was one of the tougher final story bosses in the series
it's literally spam X to win, Xemnas is a great fight if you're not overleved and playing on proud or critical
Twilight Xemnas on level 1 is incredibly intense if you're not a speedrunner. Everything in the fight in dodgeable, but man does it take you by surprise after the rest of the final fights.
Opposite to me, I didn't want Toy Box to End at all. Only Arendelle and San Fransokyo desu
Since Disney are acting like cunts with their IP, I can see KH drifting away. That's probably why the 7 princesses stopped mattering at 3. It's kind of like a formal letter of resignition.
Goofy and Donald may even be replaced by Kairi and Riku now that Riku matured and Kairi is a "keyblade wielder"
It's sad to think about it, but if Disney keeps strongarming the story and fucking with the pace, they may be forced to stray away. I think it may be possible that Nomura intentionally made the Disney worlds shit by letting Disney execs have their way, so when they make the Square worlds in the future, fans would embrace the new worlds and leave Disney in the back burner for an indefinite time
spbp
It has more content that the original Kh2
>On the other hand, I kinda feel that Xehanort was one of the tougher final story bosses in the series.
You kidding? I suck at KH and still haven't beaten 2 on Critical, and I didn't use a Kupo Coin all game long for 3. Xehanort had a couple tricky attacks, but you can recover so easily if you know how to play avoidance and abuse healing that you basically don't even have to actually learn his patterns - and his patterns are the same shit in each phase of the fight with different super attacks tossed in between.
The only part that caught most players off-guard at launch was EXPIRE
Get a fucking grip
Name all the content KH3 has, ill wait
Still better than that pussy-ass Xemnas.
Sure if you're playing on CRITICAL, but on Proud he's still a pussy-ass.
>Sales accurately reflect how bad this game really was with it not even outselling KH1 or KH2
How much did KH3 sell exactly? And no don't bother with the shipped details. I want official SOLD TO THE CUSTOMERS type sales. No shipping deflection. Even Smash Bros revealed official sold units a month later. Well it's been a month at the bare minimum. How much has KH3 sold?
Also Tai Yasue is the one who wanted KH3 to be designed for toddlers and casual easy. That's his handiwork. And sadly he seems to be Nomura's protege so the day Nomura leaves KH it will be in the hands of Yasue. Also Yasue is the one who wanted Frozen in KH3 strictly and only to please his daughter.
Not even 1 million in Japan in the months it’s been out while also being overhyped. International sales are unknown but considering how most copies of KH3 are already at a 50% discount, let’s just say it’s not looking too good.
I can believe it.
Maybe it was just me, but it felt like KH3 was mostly one last big hurrah for Donald and goofy like they were leaving.
ReCoM had some cute moments like Olympus where Hercules and Cloud kind of fit together and quoted their source material, but that's the last time I remember KH factoring in the Disney well.
KH may as well take out the Disney, because fuck Eisnerworld to be honest. The company and its properties have been bastardized beyond recognition by that kike and his underlings. SE isn't a darling either, but maybe they could do something passable without the western meddling.
Yasue needs to be fired. He only gives false promises to the fans and most of the time is the escape goat for Nomura, this man shouldn’t be in charge of anything. He was the one responsible for the HD collections being a mess on release filled with glitches that make the games unplayable, visual errors, and cut content. He even admits this was done intentionally to make room for KH3, and look how that turned out. This guy is worse than Nomura
Are you fucking retarded? I didn't say it has a lot of content, but it definitely has more than 2. Both are lackluster by only having one optional boss, but the worlds on 3 are larger and there are more side activities and items to collect. So you're wrong. Also the story was always shit, and it sold in TWO months almost the same that 1 and 2 have sold for years, so it will probably beat them by the end of the year or next one. It's not that bad of a game, you're delusional and all your points are bullshit
it was so bad that after this im done with kingdom hearts
it was the last jedi of kh and nomura is a hack
Felt like another mediocre handheld interquel while we wait for KH3 to actually come out. I wanted to kill myself out of disappointment when I finished it.
>it's not a bad game because it sold a lot of copies to NPCs
Damn dude........
Woah........
I'm enlightened now.......
I didn't say that at all faggot, kill yourself
There's zero fucking propaganda in Tangled and Frozen. I'm all about fucking the joo but you're being retarded
>can’t name the content KH3 has
Meanwhile KH2
>more keyblades
>more worlds
>world revisits
>optional worlds
>more hours story and gameplay
>gummiship missions
>tons of minigames
>Underdrome
>Struggle Tournament
>Coliseum (9 cups)
>Sephiroth
KH3 couldn’t even outdo the base release of a PS2 game
Frozen and Tangled are even story rehashes
Never list struggle in your argument if you want to be taken seriously
- guy who agrees with you
exactly
It's decent, nothing stellar outside of a incredibly strong OST, but a lot of it's problems can actually be fixed with a proper FM / critical mode.
If reaction commands made it back in and attractions either stopped existing or became some kind of summon and the difficulty was higher (hence crit mode) it would go a really long way to fixing it.
Also Terra became a fucking heartless and since Terranort was effectively a super villain compared to everyone else I fully expect either an additional Terra Nobody secret boss or a prevalent main / side figure in KH4.
I'm very curious about those new abilities that Tai Yasue is talking about. He says Crit is made for "technical players" and will feature new moves and be geared around dodging enemy attacks. Sound like 2FM level 1, but he could be bullshitting. This is Osaka we're talking about, but it's been awhile since we've heard from them. Maybe they'll actually deliver. I doubt it, but maybe.
I'm trying not to get too excited about it but it does look promising IF they actually manage it.
>"We got a lot of fan reaction that people wanted to play a difficult mode we understood that—respect that—so we really went into creating Critical Mode and we wanted to do it the right way so it is not superficial—it isn’t just raising the HP for the enemies, for example. We wanted a new experience there and we realized that there was a lot we could do.
>We added abilities for Critical Mode so you have a more technical, offensive based battle style you can enjoy, so things like that changes the game and also because the beginner mode, for example, and standard mode are easier, there are lots of choices but at the same time you’re not forced into doing anything. You can do what you want, right? But for the Critical Mode, you really have to think it out, think [about] what you’re gonna do. For example, when I’m playing the Critical Mode now in development, I realized that cooking is really important all of a sudden. For the beginner/standard modes, if you like cooking you can use cooking, but for Critical Mode, the wide array of gameplay that is there means you really have to utilize everything."
I'm looking forward to playing this. I played KH1 & 2 and BBS way back when.
Picked up 3 and the story so far earlier this year with the plan to work my way through the series.
Currently almost through Sora's scenario in ReChain. I've got a long ways to go but I'm hoping it'll be worth it.
So when Sora stabbed himself, he had 3 hearts in him, His, Kairi's and Ventus.
This created his nobody and Kairi's nobody (despite Kairi having her own body).
Shouldn't a nobody for Ventus have been created too? Perhaps looking like Sora? Are they retconning this is the next games?
>"So like I mentioned earlier, we adjusted a lot of the gameplay and we set out to create a new experience. Like creating new abilities for example. They are sort of oriented towards the technical side so people good at action games and know the exact timing on when to guard or do a counter, abilities are targeted toward that sort of gameplay. We wanted players to be able to clear the game in a fair battle, so we didn’t want people to feeling like it was unfair and getting cheated so we actually adjusted a lot of the AI in enemies as well, and it was a big effort we were all working on weekends doing this Critical [mode]. We wanted to get it right."
I think he technically released 2 hearts from his body (his and Kairi's) while Ven's was inside Sora's heart (and ended up in Roxas' body).
I regret ever playing KH2. I still love it but I should've just played my chain of memories gba and never bothered with the sequels. I both regret and love the fact I got into the series during the late 2000's.
Kingdom hearts 3 may be a effortless autistic cashgrab for normal faggots that worship Disney (4chins Yea Forums) but I accept it for the tumor it is. And it was a beautiful retarded game to end this autistic series story wise.
5/10. Will not further support Israel. The game is good if you love normal faggots deviantart trash.
>Terra became a fucking heartless
It’s weird but no. His heart was only held hostage by the Guardian, Terra himself didn’t become a Heartless.
Okay game but too easy and didn't live up to the hype
What makes Olette best girl?
How did I live
I want to believe this so bad, but I just don't think the employees as SE Osaka can do it justice.
If this is actually your defense, that I'm some pseudo intellectual, then you're just further reinforcing my view that Kingdom Hearts 3 is a terrible game only defended by low iq and Asperger's type idiots. Like, the vast majority of long time fans of this game (who aren't autistic) were horribly disappointed by KH3. It did not even meet the most baseline of expectations. This thread asked for my opinion, I gave it. I've basically never regretted buying any game more than KH3, and I know there are thousands who feel the way I do.
Like why in a year when so many great games have already come out do you bother defending the one absolutely terrible game that came out, KH3?
Being Alive.
>reversal died so attractions could exist
Finished Twilight Town and haven't touched the game since
Meanwhile in KH3
>Gummi free roam
>5 party teams
>Huge ass worlds that don't need loading screens every time you enter a new room
>Better Pirates of the Caribbean world
>Better attack/magic combos
>cooking minigames
>Kairi and Sora is official
>Suck it Yaoi-fags
>Olaf
and the deciding factor
>The best Weenie the Pooh world
When Rockstar let's Nomura use their IP, the GTA:SA DLC will blow everything out of the water
He's a fucking criminal. would you prefer if they made him a really strong role-model character? Wouldn't that be worse? And in Big Hero 6 you're reaching again, so now this time the problem is that he's asian, so it doesn't count? Both Hiro and his brother are great male characters. The villain is a white male but it shows in the end that his actions were justified because family is what matters most. The black guy is the most retarded and pussy out of the bunch. The girl who acts like all tough women -empowering dresses and acts like a slut, and there's nothing wrong with the other one. Disney is doing really bad stuff all around but there's nothing wrong with those movies you have issues with
Based
Solid 4/10, on the same tier as FFXV but no one wants to admit it
For as unfinished and easy as KH3 is, it's no XV.
>>Gummi free roam
I would buy a full priced Gummi Ship game if it was based off of KH3's engine
XV is leagues better tbqh
it's miles better than the mess that's ff xv
I just wish we had 360 degrees of movement like, say, Descent. Instead you can only go so vertical, which makes the maze in the final zone a pain in the ass, and you have to awkwardly circle certain crystal areas to get what you're looking for.
>For as unfinished and easy as KH3 is, it's no XV
true. You could actually game over in KH3's combat.
XV was so easy and casual pandering that you couldn't even do that because of all the healing shit the game throws at you. That game needed a hard mode, not more DLC (that got cancelled)
WHEN YOU WALK AWAY
YOU DON'T HEAR ME SAY
I have a lot of bad stuff to say about the game so for once I'm gonna point out everything I liked and see if anyone else agrees this is where the game had strengths
>Cutscenes have significantly better cinematography and directing. Past games' scenes typically didn't even have a score, leading to a lot of awkward lines isolated by silence. This is the way in which the game felt the most like a step up from the past games
>Aesthetically is near perfectly. Every character whether Disney or KH (can't even say Square anymore) doesn't feel out of place at all. A lot of different colors and fantastic shaders.
>Music is simply fantastic. Yoko really hit it out of the park. Whether new tracks or remixes, they also hit the emotion they want to evoke. Exploring the new huge worlds can be enchanting because of that.
>While still not fleshed out enough, The gummi ship actually traveling in a huge space and not a linear track is a good idea.
>The actors clearly all tried their best even if they were working with some hot garbage.
>The combat actually has a LOT of potential. If not for such poor balancing and overlap in utility (almost everything's an AOE nuke), you'd have one of the most open and creative systems in the series thanks to air stepping and keyblade switching (which could be less stiff)
>Using the pistols above an enemy makes Sora do gunslinger's rain storm which is awesome
>Flow motion is a lot of fun once you turn off all the shitty flowmotion attacks.
The Story is over all just as poor as DDD's but unlike that it does have a bunch of really satisfying moments so here's a short list of all of those
>The days trio's ruin was surprisingly heartwarming, despite me believing those characters shouldve stayed dead
>The Final World's stranded hearts' thoughts have the best writing in the entire series. Its a shame they're so isolated from the rest of the series' plot.
>Repliku remain the best side character in the series by going out in such (1/2)
If they add critical mode and more optional bosses, perhaps one teasing the next game (Like 1, 2 and Bbs final mix versions did) it will be pretty good. The story is a bit of a mess that can't be fixed tho
yeah, you kinda had to spiral to go up and down and that final maze area had some treasures in it, which was a pain.
It's like seeing one of your favorite in concert. You're enjoying the show but then they say it's over and you're just like "oh, that was it?" Now you're hoping for an encore that'll justify it.
In the wake of Devil May Cry 5, I honestly strain to remember the specifics of this game. What unfortunate timing; a little over a month later and one of the most anticipated games ever gets blown out of the water. I can safely say it was better than ff15 since you have more manual control over your melee strikes and you can't just spam a thousand healing items, plus there aren't samey fetch quests. The transformations and weapon switching were cool and I like how powerful magic feels. Downsides were the floaty combat, namely the limited animation cancelling in a game with really long animations. There also still isn't as much control as there should be since attractions, grand magic, transformations, finishers, and link attacks are all swept into the situation command system. There's still a shitty, halfassed open world element, too, and cutting corners on the contextual dialogue so characters say the same handful of lines ad infinitum give me a headache. It's at least a 7/10, but not more than an 8.
>You could actually game over in KH3's combat.
>XV was so easy and casual pandering that you couldn't even do that
Please say you’re joking. If you died at least ONCE in KH3 you’re mentally handicapped, AI literally wins most fights for you, you can one-shot multiple bosses, all you have to do is spam triangle and X against waves of Heartless, and for bosses spam magic. My only “death” in KH3 was the cringe scripted one at the end of the game. Meanwhile in FFXV you can easily die to any boss if you mess up or against high level mobs.
>The Final World's stranded hearts' thoughts have the best writing in the entire series. Its a shame they're so isolated from the rest of the series' plot.
This so much, also that OST.
Finally a KH game was so bad that the english Mickey voice actor said "fuck it, i'm not even gonna try anymore, these lines are too retarded.". I've played all the mediocre side games, but this one was straight up terrible.
Nomura is gonna need serious brain surgery before taking on FF7 remake. No way Square are gonna trust the golden goose with that hack.
(2/2)
> - a thematically satisfying way that it was the only character finale that actually made me fully on cry.
>Some of the comedy was actually pretty funny
>>I cant computer so
>>Everyone sandbagging Zexion
>>That weird ass Aqua is Sora line that got lost in translation
>>Roxas and Ven just looking at eachother and not saying a word
>All of the villain's last words (Except young and old Xeahnort's) embodied everything I love about the series's characters.
>The ending was rather brave
>The premise for the next game sounds kino if it really is Sora playing the death game and Riku and co going to save him
Great post that said absolutely nothing of value. You are a literal retard and a failure.
>If you died at least ONCE in KH3 you’re mentally handicapped
I was alternating EXP on worlds to try and remain to a close level and was also trying to learn how bosses worked.
but nothing can really prepare you for the lazer rape during the Xehnaort boss battle after you use the "Return to Light" reaction command.
>Meanwhile in FFXV you can easily die to any boss if you mess up or against high level mobs.
not when you can heal at 0 HP in XV with your 198 healing items (99 Potions and 99 Hi Potions). My only XV game over was when I failed to land the flying car.
those are all valid points, in the end, I thinks the ups severely outweigh the downs
>My only XV game over was when I failed to land the flying car.
Say what one will about gummi ships and snow sliders, they aren't this
Define "die." Sure, you can lose all your health, but you would still need to lose all your maximum health to be at risk of a game over, and even then, you still have access to 99 overpowered phoenix down and 99 even-more-overpowered mega phoenixes, and you can turn on infinite auto revives whenever you want. The only instant game overs are crashing the type f and not catching up with Ardyn in in his car.
It's just not the same without sound.
>blocks in Toy Box are arranged in a suggestive manner
based underhanded jap devs pushing the envelope
I feel like Nomura had this huge plan after DDD, but then he made Cross and suddenly completely rewrote everything at some point. At the end of DDD, Xehanort outright spelled out to Riku and Mickey that he took over Terra's body, but then after the pair return from the Realm of Darkness in 3 they suddenly have a bat deduction moment of realizing "OH NO HE TOOK OVER TERRA" like they completely forgot or something.
okay okay

>SE hasn't made a good game since FF12
>Implying FF12 was good
Well like I said I have a LOT of bad stuff to say about the game too. To be fair though a lot of that has to do with story pacing, an issue all the games have. Alot of the combat problems are problems even games like Kh2 had too. For example magic being based on a cool down when used means it's either gonna be abused thanks to items and limits that can be used even with 1 magic point left. You make the magic too strong like in KH3 and it gets abused. Make it like in KH2 and it'll barely be used like because it's not as powerful as just mashing x initially and so people only use it for cure.
Kh1 had the best magic system because not only did all spells retain the unique utility (Areo being my favorite as far as unique ones), but magic is given back to you by attacking. It's not a cool down.
Not him, but this is a textbook example of overhyping a sequel. It's a solid game, but fans really do wallow over the smallest things, missing the forest for the trees. Granted, a lot of it is justified, such as the Disney worlds, pacing, and difficulty, but it shouldn't just be relegated as a mediocre successor when it clearly deserves better.
I played through every single game but Re:Coded right up to KH3's release. I can say with certainty that the ranking goes:
KH2FM>KH1FM>>>CoM>>>>>>KH3>>BBS>DDD>>>>ReCoM>>>>>>Days
I highly doubt FM for KH3 will bring it to the prior main installment's level but we'll see.
>there are mechanics for damaging, towing, and repairing your car (no pun intended)
>they all go unused once you're able to fly
>you can make mincemeat out of every boss in the game, but collide with one microscopic polygon and the game deems you too incompetent to allow you to continue playing
why why why
>Cutscenes have significantly better cinematography and directing.
youtube.com
>muh graphics
KH3 looks like a PS3 game and the character models are worse than previous games.
>Music is simply fantastic.
And extremely mishandled. Sometimes when the music loops it’ll glitch out and in Scala there’s a completely new track that’s not even heard for a minute.
>The actors clearly all tried their best
Did you not play the game? All characters outside of the Disney ones sound void of all emotion.
>The days trio's ruin was surprisingly heartwarming
Roxas falls from the sky, Xion becomes a good guy after 2 seconds, and then they all cry and hug. Amazing. You’re the target audience of KH3, an absolute retard. They same exact moment happened with the BBS trio, they couldn’t even be bothered coming up with an actual heartwarming moment, instead they just do the same thing and because they cry it’s supposed to be touching.
>The Final World's stranded hearts' thoughts have the best writing in the entire series.
In KH3*
>Repliku remain the best side character in the series by going out in such a thematically satisfying way
You mean some character that only existed in KH3 to pad out the Organization? Repliku being inside of Riku was literally never brought up prior to KH3. Anyway, his death logically makes no sense since he gave up a potential body for someone else, when they could’ve just created a new body for Namine.
>All of the villain's last words (Except young and old Xeahnort's) embodied everything I love about the series's characters.
That being? All of their last words were the same “I’m not really evil and have my own goals lol, here’s some sequel bait”. That alone should’ve ruined the experience for someone, since you’re fighting the antagonists for literally no reason and they’re do the same for no reason.
>The ending was shit
FTFY
>the next game is KINNNNOOOOOO
oh no it’s retarded
On the contrary, I think many people overrate the game simply because it looks prettier than the other games.
>barry is STILL trying to pit DMCchads and KHchads against each other after months of failure
facillier is literally one of the most popular disney villains now he's literally the mc at most of the disney halloween events now shut the hell up
I think the game was way so much hyped by some people that they ended up severely underrating it when it didn't met up unrealistic expectations. It's a solid 80/100 game. Just like Kh1 and 2. Now the final mixed versions are other story, so let's wait what the game gets in terms of dlc to compare to those
>it's your fault you believed Nomura's lies
>we just need to pay more for the finished product, you'll see
ESL corporate shill begone.
Verdict: Still a game for children too young to be posting here.
I only wish the story was more evenly paced and not all thrown at you in the end.
Also since all organization members had to be fought in the end for plot reasons, not having you control all the keyblade wielders at some point in multiple battles was a wasted opportunity. They didn't even at least give us Aqua and Riku, who had fleshed out animations from the battles you have playing as them in the game. It's the biggest shame of the game for me, really, it would be a perfect gameplay closure to this chapter.
At least you still have your head straight.
>KH3 looks like a PS3 game
>models are worse than previous games
You are actually braindead if you believe PS3 hardware could've handled this game. And the models actually had properly animated faces for all cutscenes unlike previous games.
>Days trio reunion unsatisfying/villain final dialogue disappointing
I'll give you that, the endgame lore jam was the worst it's been in the series. DDD is a close second though, it's not uncommon for a KH game to back load plot. Plus from interviews it sounds like SE had to take lots of abuse from Disney over certain IPs, I'm guessing this forced them to save the plot for the end.
>OC characters sounded devoid of emotion
You must not have played the other games then. This is practically a staple for the series at this point. Doesnt excuse it but you shouldnt have expected more. They did improve it in some areas, the chemistry between Sora, Donald, and Goofy has never been better.
>Music was mishandled
Yep, the guy who organized the tracks really shit the bed and hindered Yoko's compositions. New tracks were bland as hell but at least the reimagining of older themes were great. Tension Rising is a God tier one, original was great but goddamn the new one is amazing.
? I'm not justifying anything, I clearly said the game is on par with 1 and 2. And I don't want to spend more money, it's just that you can't really compare it right now with KH1FM or KH2FM, not only because those two were also cash grabs, but specially in the case of KH2FM, which I doubt 3 will ever eat, were also great games better tan the originals
Big yikes
Paid addons isnt foreign to this series. KH2FM is the best in the series, and you had to pay for an entirely new copy for it. Acting like paid DLC improving a game means it was unfinished is literal retard thinking. If it fixes stuff and makes for a more enjoyable experience, why not embrace it?
user, why do they keep believing that extra content will fix this game?
>story pacing
You can change the pacing all you want, it's not going to fix the plotholes this setting is now rifled with.
Kh2FM fixed KH2. Kh2 is imo completely on par with kh3
>Liking something I dont like means you're dumb
>I am smart and things I like are the standard
You are a cancer on this board, stop making yourself more important than you are. Let people like the things they like. Also Sekiro was a disappointment.
Base KH2 was braindead as fuck and they had to make a game that was beatable even if you didn't have the dash skill from Wisdom form. FM fixed the hell out of the difficulty with Critical and postgame stuff. KH2 has pretty poor pacing itself, though it does have Hollow Bastion in the middle (which is immediately followed by the revisits which crash the pacing again). KH2's Organization showing was downright fucking pitiful and FM only somewhat mitigated that as far as the main story goes. Artstyle's subjective, I think KH3 looks fantastic but I can see how it could be offputting as it's a drastic departure from the old artstyle. Aqua jobbing is dumb, Terra was a fucking chad.
People are allowed to like video games and judge them fairly, sorry guy.
>I clearly said the game is on par with 1 and 2.
When it clearly isn't.
>it's just that you can't really compare it right now with KH1FM or KH2FM
Show me the people comparing 3 to the Final Mixes, that's nothing more than you putting words in other people's mouths because you don't actually have a way to defend 3.
Seriously? You're gonna shill Reversal? It was only useful against dusks and Twilight Thorn and broke literally any other fight with different enemies nearby and left you open to attacks for like 3 seconds.
This, gummi ship was a fantastic bullet hell segment.
KH2 wasn't broken you cock sucker. All FM did was take a great game and make it greater. 3 is a trash fire and no amount of FM content is going to fix it short of Nomura completely remaking it and saying that was actually just KH 2.9.
Just read this retarded Sleeping Realm theory that people have been talking about. Wew lad, this is going to be the Squall is Dead of this era isn't it?
I actually believe the sole reason kh3 was kinda disappointing is Unchained X or whatever other name the mobile and browser game exists, it definitely had a big impact on what the story was originally supposed to be, plus it gave people unrealistic expectations
Letting people like the things they like is fine. But so is pointing out the fucking flaws. You wanting a hugbox in a thread asking for an opinion and claiming that this user is cancer is hilarious.
Isnt it canon already?
This guy came in declaring anyone who is a fan of this series is less intelligent than he is, just pointing out that he's being a dick.
I'm still mad they wasted Fantasia on the 3DS. I would love to see it in full HD.
Cruising the seas with Donald and Goofy, and exploring all those random islands was kino. That was the game's peak.
>Vanilla kh2
>Great
Not even close, good nostalgiafagging though ilk give you that.
Zoom harder
Hes right, anyone who thinks KH2 vanilla was better than KH3 vanilla is nostalgia blind. They are on par with each other, KH2FM added literal hours of great content and expanded the plot so it made more sense.
defend this
youtube.com
If you said KH1 I’d agree, but KH2 is a great game that got even better with FM. People who believe KH2 vanilla was as bad as KH3 are trying to rewrite history.
This. Story was shit but combat was solid. Only needs FM content for late-game like data fights and a harder difficulty.
Honestly, give me some overhauled battles too. A lot of fights felt like throwaways or half a dozen "strong foes" slapped into a clusterfuck that encouraged you to tea cup their faces.
What in the high holy hell are you smoking that 2 didn't already make sense? All the scenes they added in 2 just reiterated what we already knew but in long winded diatribes. In terms of content all it added were a bunch of super bosses and a neat little platforming area to Hollow Bastion, don't pretend like it added a whole new world or made Atlantica an actual one or anything.
Fuck a 6/10 I guess? The gameplay was fun, albeit piss easy, I enjoyed the toy story and monsters inc world since they weren't just boring retellings and it felt nice hearing woody tell xehanort he will never feel any love, it's nice for Donald, goofy and sora to have a better dynamic now than before, with Donald actually healing me when I need him too. The story pacing was a mess and forced everything into the last 5 hours, which was just a odd choice, Corona and Arendelle were boring as all hell, with the latter being the worst level in the game period, and the music felt so poorly used despite it being really good, one of my favourite songs (scala ad caelum) only plays for 10 fucking seconds and the cutscenes felt off somehow. this could have been a really good ending, but it just didnt do it
Sorry but your opinion when you were 10 years old dont count.
>playing Atlantica
>it follows the movie script
>IN A SING-ALONG
Jesus Christ just give me back the first one. I regret bitching about! I regret it!
Tai Yasue is definitely not the guy . He pushed for KH 3 to be more casual, one reason being his kids wanted to get into KH 3 and he wanted it to be accessible for them even though they completely fucked up Proud Mode and made it too easy. Tai has the same problem Tabata had, he wanted to appeal to the casuals and Newfags instead of the people who have been fans since day 1. Why Nomura even listened to Yasue is beyond me. This didn’t feel like Nomura’s game
Final encounter with Xehanort and the vessels lacked impact and epicness. I really hated how Xehanort just gave in so easily to Sora's talk no jutsu. This is the guy whose backup plans have backup plans and is tenacious as fuck. And he just gives up at the end. The whole fight had nothing on the Xemnas battle. Also fuck adding more additional plot points. Should've ended everything here.
>Sleeping Realm theory
Can I get a rundown?
>he wanted to appeal to the casuals and Newfags instead of the people who have been fans since day 1
WHY DO PEOPLE DO THIS? Nothing makes me fucking angrier than getting pushed aside so these retards can chase after little Billy Dicknuts or his whore of a soccer mom who's hated video games since their inception. What the actual fuck do you get by catering to these people?
Someone explain to me the time travel bullshit. Is MX the same one from BBS or one from a different timeline? Also what about Terranort? Same one from BBS or a different one? None of that shit made any sense.
the Yea Forumserdict is that anyone that purchased the base version and expected a KH2FM tier experience was a retard. Solid 7/10 or so, but people that were expecting final mix tier content are assmad and giving it scores as low as 1/10
the only reason to buy kingdom hearts games at launch is if you care about the story or want to do an initial playthrough and revisit it later. Anyone that played the previous games knew that this would happen, and if they didn't then they were delusional.
>base KH1 in japan literally had one extra boss. base Kh1 in US had a bit more content than japan version. Final mix added even more content
>base KH2 was completely fucking braindead gameplay wise, and had zero postgame content. Final mix added a fuckton of content between org bosses, terra, more abilities, new drive form, etc.
>base BBS was okay, final mix added a new fucking story segment although the gameplay was still bad
>things should never get any better and we should just wallow in mediocrity forever
Fuck off you cuck. Show me the people comparing vanilla 3 to the Final Mixes.
the gummi ship segments in KH3 were so fucking good
movement could be a bit janky at times if you didn't adjust to the flight controls, but I'm glad that they put the fucking einhander team on it
hopefully in the final mix DLC we'll get more gummi missions
Holy fuck just how long is this. It's convoluted as fuck also, which really raises the chances of this being real
>haha they don't exist I can't see them spoonfeed me
Literally read the fucking thread. There's even a reply chain a couple posts above yours where people are arguing over whether base KH2 is better or worse than base KH3.
Were you never on Yea Forums when it came out? This shit is argued about in almost every fucking thread.
KH2 was literally fucking memed as "triangle to win" for several fucking years until KH2FM got a proper localization. It was in just as rough of a shape as KH3's gameplay is, and the only reason that KH3 is getting reeee'd at more is because the series has significantly grown since KH2 first came out.
Did you even read the post you're replying to? He specifically shitted on your kind.
honestly the theory sounds okay until they go into fujofaggotry
the DDD drop noises and the dive into the heart are what sell me the most on it since there's zero fucking reference to 7 hearts anywhere else in the game.
most of the pages are taken up by pictures or captioned pictures so it's not as long of a read as you think
>he takes shitposting memes at face value
All I needed to hear honestly.
You're the one shitposting
Whatever helps you and your dick sucking ass sleep at night.
>there's zero fucking reference to 7 hearts anywhere else in the game.
What bothers me the most is that's the only narration in the entire DTTH, whereas in 1 and 2 there was someone guiding you along and foreshadowing through the whole thing. But then again I guess the sequences in 1 and 2 were more than just one room, the thing in 3 felt like they just did it out of obligation to get it out of the way.
Everyone saying kh2 is massively better than 3 is either a massive retard or is comparing it to kh2fm
The Last Jedi of the series.
Or maybe they accept they were sold trash and aren't still trying to rationalize the money they threw away on this lazy garbage.
False, it's whatever movie you think is the worse on the original trilogy, while still being a good movie
I did say massive retards, including you ot seems
Remember kids, it's okay to rely on others to solve your problems for you while you do absolutely nothing.
Also you can get off scott free with universal genocide and infinite other atrocities as long as you surrender and say you had good intentions.
2FM was infinitely better
Cringe
>it's retarded not to live in a fantasy world I have to force my brain into believing
Okay bud, have fun in your little wonderland.
Seething.
You have a massive problem not only with people liking something you dislike, but also with people not disliking something as much as you do. You're in this thread not to reply to people who loved the game, just to reply to people who say the game was not that bad. Stop replying, being mad, and buy a rope user
The Final Word was really interesting hangs of pace for the series. It and Scala should have had more focus. I hope dlc will expand Scala but I’m not counting on it b
