Yeah it's worth it. You will probably miss some nostalgia and connections to the Dark Souls 1/2 lore but the experience itself is worth it. Combat is solid and the game is fairly challenging. Multiple playthroughs are also a thing or ng+ if you want to make a super character. If you pick up the dlc later on a sale or some shit they were pretty good too.

ds3 is arguably the best entry point.
it has qol improvements and the level design, while worse in areas, is easier to grasp for newcomers.

DS3 is shit if you played the other two first, an okay game otherwise
DS2 has the best pvp of the three, the best fashion and the best weapon versatility and build variety, but a fair bunch of the game systems are shit
DS1 is objectively a good game but it has horribly flawed design, constantly forcing a meta you must follow in certain parts, and 100% of the time if you want to pvp at all

Part 1 is not all too great honestly, a lot of people skip it but it's well worth it for the later parts, Part 2 starts at episode 10 and is a massive improvement. If you've only seen part 1 you haven't seen Jojo

I liked Jotaro more in 4 than 3, he's a good mentor figure and I liked how He was the one that beat Kira up, they didn't nerf him too much, sucks that he jobbed to a rat though

They aren't bad, hell part 2 is the 2nd best part if you ask the majority.
It's just that they are entirely different, whole other power system, you see in part 1 and 2 there's hamon which is like magic ki energy type of thing, only in part 3 do we get the more well known and vastly superior stands and hamon totally disappears, that's also where the main part structure that's in every later part comes into play, first half is monster of the week type thing with an overarching plot and second part is the main villain
