Has an argument on Yea Forums ever made you change your mind about anything?
Has an argument on Yea Forums ever made you change your mind about anything?
I read an argument about MH that went something like
"Why do you grind?"
"For better gear"
"Why do you need better gear?"
"To grind with"
And it got me off grindy bullshit forever
No but Yea Forums helped me grow a thicker skin irl.
I don't even have opinions, everything I think is unchanging facts
Yes. I'm easily influenced and manipulated.
one time along time ago made me realize to never take anything Yea Forums says seriously
After some time I can relate to this
I've been browsing here for nearly 12 years and I don't think I remember a single time somebody just said an argument changed their mind and they were wrong. They'll just duck out of the thread and stop responding... I guess anonymity kills any humility.
no. in fact, they've all only entrenched me in my positions further.
No.
But it made me avoid threads of games I'm playing because I know when shitposters are in full force, that its useless trying to find a decent conversation.
Yea Forums is usually the place where I get my initial opinion on vidya stuff I didn't have an opinion of beforehand. Which is why I like to see as much arguing as possible over things so I can feel my newfound opinion is at least somewhat robust.
This is basically what I assume always happens. I seldom get into actual arguments here. If it goes past the initial
>shit opinion
>your opinion is shit
>fuck you you're a faggot
>no fuck you, YOU're a faggot
exchange spanning 3-5 posts, I stop posting because it's a waste of time for both parties. Neither of us will change our opinion anyway.
Probably but I forget specifics, it has made me interested in a game I previously had no interest in due to highly specific shitposts. Plus it freaks people out when you apologize for being wrong on Yea Forums, they have no idea how to respond it's almost like losing the battle but winning the war.
I stopped arguing on Yea Forums entirely because I realised it's impossible to change people's opinions and you just end up having the same argument 100 different times over many threads and nothing ever changes and it's all so tiresome
Also if Yea Forums says a game is shit chances are the game is great
Yes, I used to think some people on Yea Forums are probably redeemable. Then I read arguments on Yea Forums and I realized we're all fucked and should just an-hero.
>9S cat poster
Are you the guy who keeps posting "Characters that are literally you"?
Not really, I'm always right
I suppose this is true to an extent. I haven't read any gaming magazines or online journoshit in like 12 years by now. I just come here to hear about new games.
So when I hear about a new game on Yea Forums, Yea Forums does influence my initial opinion about it before I possibly go look up other material about it.
nah but that guy is a cutie
This but unironically but with me
I don't 100% agree. Sometimes you get those chill threads with actual video games discussion and everyone is civil.
I eventually started ignoring some games. Some anons act like complete fucking shitheads and if a type of thread attracts at most a dozen posters it's a waste of time and effort to try and contribute. I'd rather go play something.
I do this from time to time. Also seen others do this but very infrequently.
Not really, but arguing on Yea Forums helps me sort out and affirm my own opinions by putting my feelings and experiences into words and then having them challenged. It helps me understand my own tastes more.
a couple things
>Boost to win is just bad in Sonic games
>Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days story isn't really that great and is actually less than mediocre
>BlazBlue Cross Tag really is a trash game even though I liked it so much at first
>nostalgia blinded from how mediocre Tales games are and have always been
>piracy really isn't that big of a deal
No because I'm right about everything and never had an opinion that I didn't strongly research about.
I have tried a lot of games recommended by Yea Forums. But I mostly remember that one time it did lead to me trying out Persona 3 years ago which completely changed my stance on JRPGs and anime games in general. Convinced myself that I just couldn't get into those kinds of games until one thread where some anons convinced me to give it a try.
Thanks anons.
Plan on it tonight.
