What’s the best GTA to start off with after finishing 5?
Grand Theft Auto
GTAO
Stop right there criminal scum.
What? GTA5 is the tutorial for GTAO, everyone knows that.
Nah start with GTA Kiwami OP.
GTA: Online is pretty cool in my view, but if you don't want to buy Xbox Live / PlayStation Plus then fair enough.
GTA IV is probably the next best one to play. It's not as good as V but that's because it's over 10 years old at this point. It's still a very very good game.
Then once you've completed that then go back and visit the 3D ones I guess: III, VC and SA (IV and V are known as the "HD" era of GTA games, while those other three I mentioned are known as the "3D" era).
>It's not as good as V
What have you done user? I mean, it's true but do you really want to be the catalyst of a flamewar?
GTAO is pretty fun. I still hop on occasionally to do some CEO work. I find stealing and delivering cars comfy.
If you want a cartoony and light-hearted experience play Vice city or San Andreas. If you waant a more grounded and serious game play GTA4.
Depends on how much tolerance for old games you have. They're all objectively great titles really, even especiallythe 2D ones
gta vice city, it will kick you in the ass
GTA IV for sure
Watched Scarface again the other day
Hope to fuck Vice City is in GTAVI
I just have to point it out because the constant circlejerk on this website about "MUH GTA IV IS SO GOOD, EVERYTHING WAS BETTER IN MY GENERATION, OLD = GOOD AND NEW = BAD" should be vociferously rebuked.
>Hope to fuck Vice City is in GTAVI
I seriously doubt it. Why would they do 80s Miami again after already doing it? And why would they do current day Miami? Current day Miami has precisely fuck all going on.
>OLD = GOOD NEW = BAD
Basically SAfags in a nutshell
Oh yeah, exporting top range cars as fast as possible on a full lobby is pure bliss, even more if one or two decide to chase you.
SAfags are the KANTOOOOO of GTA.
>Why would they do 80s Miami again after already doing it?
They did Liberty City multiple times, same with San Andreas although a different take on it
Drug dealers, club scene, gang wars, 80's music and cars. Perfect aesthetic for Rockstar's artwork too
Clearly Rockstar has a thing for the music scene with the After Hours update to GTAO as well, wouldn't be surprised if they leaned in to buying clubs and whatnot in singleplayer
Anyone play the Shine 'o Vice demo?
I know Yea Forums knows fuck all about GTA but it's worth asking
>They did Liberty City multiple times
In different time periods. In both GTA III and GTA IV, Liberty City was shown in the current day (2001 and 2008 respectively). Like I said, I very much doubt they would do Miami in the '80s again, and I also doubt they would do Miami in the current day, because Miami these days is not very notable or important at all.
I don't see a reason why they just couldn't repeat 80's Miami again, like the other user said, GTA devs are boomers and love their 80's and 90's references, also music.
Though, with GTAO being so fucking nuts with flying cars and all, I doubt they'll go back 40 years without doing something weird like making it a retro futuristic 90's Miami.
GTA IV is probably the only other one with a decent story
>blocks your path
Path stands blocked
They should set VC in early 1990s and San Andreas in the mid 80’s. To balance it, like IV is set in the late 2000s after lll did the early 2000s.
SA had a good cast but awful story. It was all over the place.
any of them, V is trash
The concept was good and the dialogues great, but the actual execution... like the other user said, it was all over the place. Many events seemed to happen in a rather odd and unnatural pace and progression, many crucial plot points seemed brushed over and generally not getting enough focus in proportion to their importance
Part of me thinks a reason Vice City could be back aside from the obvious is that GTAO is so over the top now I wonder if they can even go forward
If it's modern day they'll probably have to add in the flying bikes and whatnot but maybe if they just set it back in the 80's it's far enough to distance themselves and it would almost be like a reset
I mean who am I kidding it'll probably be modern day but hopefully it's more a more realistic take on it
Wasn't hyped for the next GTA until RDR2 but fuck I'd be a liar if I said I'm not trying to imagine it now
Underrated post
Why do you think it’s trash?
San Andreas for peak 3D GTA, Vice City if you love 80's shit. GTA IV if youre a zoomer and go into an autistic fit over old game controls. All of them are more fun to play than V and only IV has a worse map
they're not gonna pass up the opportunity to reveal it as GTA: VIce city
>who am I kidding it'll probably be modern day
I dunno, I think they could well do a historical thing again, since Vice City and San Andreas were very popular. I just don't think they would do Vice City back in the '80s again because they already did that. I guess they could do a sequel to Vice City. Tommy Vercetti in the late 80s / early 90s. Who knows.
I think whatever they do will be a bit of a surprise. I'm sure they would only make another GTA game if they thought they could do something new and fresh and original. That has always been their standard and they have never failed to deliver it.
>these fags talking about VC instead of the superior Vice City Stories
Samefag
GTA IV, Pick which of IV to do first though
GTA IV, TLAD or TBoGT
Oh yeah, VCS is fucking criminally underrated. Great story, a lot more content than VC, still has a great atmosphere and very good soundtrack and the crime empire mechanic was pretty good.
Stories had a better soundtrack and the missions were almost as good as VC but the story was forgettable. No one gives a shit about Vic
>but the story was forgettable. No one gives a shit about Vic
His story was way more interesting than Tommy's discount Scarface.
San Andreas is the best one, GTA 4 is a second and third goes to Vice City
Not quite, user.
>they reveal it as GTA 6:Vice City
69 SP missions, most of them are either fetch quests or scripted garbage that you play once and never again, the 3 character formula that could've been promising if all of them had more missions to their name, the nerfed car damage, the gokart car controls, the shitty map design, that ending
also i don't care about the multiplayer, glad i pirated that shit and uninstalled it after finishing once, i have no desire to touch it in the near future
SP is the weakest part of the game, when you play GTAO you can see all the shit they held off that could have made SP so much better, such as calling vehicles to your location, including planes and helis, weapon upgrades, weaponized vehicles that make your life way easier, open ended missions, harder NPCs, some so hard that they can't get oneshotted and they can and always will headshot you.
