How much of a difference does playstation 4 pro have over normal ps4?
I will add that I'll probably be playin in max 1080p and the main games I'm interested in are Bloodborne, The Last Guardian and Gravity Rush.

In the case of Last Guardian that game is only really playable on a pro
big difference with super sampling alone on 1080p. it's even preferable to gimped 4k IMO. pretty much any game that comes out nowadays is geared to run on the pro, so you are better off spending the small premium to get the most out of your game experience
Slightly better FPS.
Also turn off super sampling and play on 1080p mode since 4k is a meme.
It's a waste of money. Buy a PC instead and if you don't have a PS4 already and you really must buy one than buy a cheap slim.
this
If you're gonna get a PS4, for some reason, get the Pro. It will perform slightly better and games will look slightly better for a slightly more expensive price.
Monster Hunter World runs better on Pro than on original PS4.
Well, I do have a really good pc, so ps4 would be solely for exclusives.
>Buy a PC instead
I have a rather good pc, run all the modern games I wanted on it with no problem. I won't lie, it's mainly for Bloodborne and Last Guardian. But if I already get it I might give a try with some other games, Gravity Rush was the first that came to mind.
Here's your PS4 Pro bro pcpartpicker.com
Yeah, I'm sure Bloodborne and Last Guardian will run great on that.
It runs great on PS Now.
Bloodborne got 0 improvement from the pro
Maybe because the Pro has the same shitty cpu.
No PS Now in my country.
No PS Now in mine either. I bought a PS4 just for Bloodborne and a few other games and I regret it immensely. It's a short game, very repetitive and plays and looks like ass. You also need to pay $ony to play online which is fucking ridiculous. If you have too much money and want to throw it away then be my guest, otherwise I think you shouldn't repeat the same mistake I made.
>It's a short game, very repetitive and plays and looks like ass.
Well, you are in the minority with that opinion? Did you jump into the franchise completely blind? I love Hollow Knight and Dark Souls, like lovecraftian themes and I know how the game looks in general from yt videos. Were you like this as well?
In addition, why not just sell it after you played all the games that interest you?
Anyone can confirm this?
I bought Demon's Souls back in 2010 and played it nonstop. I've been following all the games so far. The game IS short, there's no denying it. The chalice dungeons are just the same copypaste dungeons over and over again, pretty boring though some of the bosses are cool.
It's very repetitive also, there are very few weapons in the game because of the "trick weapon" meme and upgrading materials are very rare early on so you'll spend nearly the entire game using the same weapon and if you want to start a new playthrough with a different weapon other than the 3 initial ones you'll have to get halfway through the game to find one. 90% of the enemies are the same werewolf enemy thing, there's very little variety in enemy design, something Sekiro also suffers from.
The gothic architecture is everywhere and it just feels copypasted, "hey look another building full of gothic archways!". They also spam shit all over the place too, DS3 also suffered from that to a lesser extent. You go into a room and for whatever reason it's filled with breakable crates or candles and shit, very annoying visual pollution imo. The level design is pretty lame for the most part though I did really like the orphanage and the ayy lmaos inside.
The game plays at a constant mid 20 fps and looks like hot garbage due to the chromatic aberration. They really abused that filter in this game to the point I feel nauseated after playing for more than 30 minutes, specially when you combine the filter with the low fps.
Now don't get me wrong, it's a pretty decent game. It has probably one of the best fromsoft games soundtrack to date, some of the boss fights are really fun and it's worth playing it if not just once but I don't think it deserves half the praise and hype it does and definitely not worth buying a console just for that. The problem is, this board is filled with console fanboys, from each console, and the sony fanboys will hype the shit out of this game.
I'm waiting for the console to get hacked but I guess I should probably sell it.
New resolutions are such a meme. Fuck 720, SD is where its at
It's ok on the original PS4 but the game usually wavers between 20 - 30fps all the time. 1080p mode on PS4 Pro is mostly locked 30fps from what I can recall. 4K mode on PS4 Pro also has framerate drops. The game is best played in 1080p mode on PS4 pro
>Bloodorne
Has no Pro support. Boost mode doesn't fix the framepacing which is the main issue with the framerate.
>TLG
More playable. Base PS4 has fuck huge drops Pro doesn't.
>Gravity Rush
No Pro support.
>They actually added console exclusive after half the games came to PC
Hilarious.
Bloodborne not having Pro support is genuinely a crying shame. I'd love the fuck awful frame pacing to be fixed.
>I'd love the fuck awful frame pacing to be fixed.
Impossible. All From games suffer from it due to the engine, the only difference is 60fps+ gets rid of it. There's no way Pro would double the framerate.
1080p looks better than 720p.
You can't see the difference between 1080p and 4k unless you have a giant tv or are putting your eyeballs on the screen.
>How much of a difference does playstation 4 pro have over normal ps4?
It depend on the games, if they are developed or patched with the Pro in mind, the difference is pretty big, but if the game is old and didnt get a patch for the Pro, then it is almost the same.
for example, Bloodborne didnt get patched (from refused to do it, fuck them), so it still has fps issues and frame drops and stupidly long loading times even on the Pro.
>You can't see the difference between 1080p and 4k unless you have a giant tv or are putting your eyeballs on the screen.
That is just not true. You'd be correct if you said the difference is barely noticeable when playing a game specially on smaller screens or if you're playing at a decent distance away. You can even see the difference between 4k and 1080p by using VSR/DSR on a 1080p display.
What is boost mode?
youtu.be
2000% more roaches
>New resolutions are such a meme. Fuck 720, SD is where its at
You can see the difference from SD to 720 up to 1080p, buto actually se the difference between 1080p and 4K at couch distance, yu neet at least a 65 inch TV, anything less and your eyes can't see any difference in the image
>boost mode
It just barely improve performance, but games will not use the additional core, boost mode make the game use 50% of the power of the Pro instead of 40%, but there is still another 50% to use that is compeltely wasted because the came is not developed to use it.
Nioh, Yakuza 0, Street Fighter 5 and Toukiden 2 definitely aren't exclusives.
>but games will not use the additional core
There is no additional core. The CPU is the exact same minus the clock speed going from 1.6ghz to 2.1ghz,
>boost mode make the game use 50% of the power of the Pro instead of 40%
Wrong. It allows the GPU/RAM/CPU to run at the higher clock speeds than base that's it.
Well, I understand you but I haven't really been wrong about whether I might end up liking a work of fiction and to what degree in at least ten years. I'm really aware of my taste in media and my preferences. I wouldn't be suprised if Bloodborne landed in my top 5, or at least top 10.
Learn to read.
>The Order
>Low Tier
That shit is not even a real game, it should not be in the list at all.
This is absolute bullshit and you'd know it if you had a 4K monitor/TV. I don't have anything close to those sizes and can tell, you both are lying through your teeth.
Bloodborne on the Pro maintains its frame rate better than the regular PS4 but still has drops here and there.
My experience with the Pro and a 1080p tv:
Nier Automata: 1080p instead of 900p, more consistent framerate, much better imo
Shadow of the Colossus: Worth the Pro upgrade for the 60fps mode
Nioh: much much better on the Pro in action mode (1080p 60fps), the regular ps4 will drop frames even though it renders at 720p most of the time.
Most games will just give you a bare-bones 1440p resolution. Looks nice, but If it renders at 1800p it looks tack sharp and eradicates shimmer and aliasing.
>There's no way Pro would double the framerate
Double? No, but make it a stable 30 fps could have been done, if only From refused to develop the Pro patch after ony asked them to do it.
But the framepacing is the main issue, not the game dropping frames. Learn the difference.
Thanks, though I have played Nier Automata and Shadow of the Colossus on the pc. Nioh is on the pc as well if I wanted to play that.
Didnt played BB so i dont know the actual issue, i just saw online everyone saying that it has fps issues
PS5 is due next year. best just wait to see how it turns out and then get it or a pro for cheap.
It still can't run any game at a stable 60 so who cares
