Can already play it on PC either way and emulate the first RDR and even Persona 5. Catherine got a PC port, more Atlus games on the way, Persona 5 most likely in the works already (even though playable at 60 fps on PS3 emulator). Octopath Traveler is already coming to PC as well, even Ace Attorney is on PC. Consoles have no games and no purpose. PC will always be Alpha and Omega. Remain assblasted.

Recently played Kiwami and really enjoyed it.
Would you suggest playing Kiwami 2 or 0 first. I'd prefer playing games in their release order (not including remakes of course) so I thought about playing 2 first, but apperently they added some story stuff that doesn't make sense without playing 0 first.

You should have done 0 prior to Kiwami because Kiwami builds upon things 0 set up and constantly references back to 0. Kiwami 2 has an ending for a loose thread for Majima from 0 in his new content but that's about it for anything from 0 in K2. Well, that and Amon continuing his story from K1 which makes no sense with regards to 3 onward.

Kiwami only gets hard in chapter 9 and I think it was chapter 6. Otherwise you should be fine, Neo is a bit rough but you can learn how there is no spoon and how he dodges to hit him (Or just use Beast). Plus you can always just cheese anything with Tiger Drop if you're really having trouble.
Kiwami 2's fights against the Men In Black are the roughest part, everything else is pretty easy.

Tiger Drop is useful on anyone, it pretty much breaks combat due to how overpowered it can be. It's kind of nerfed in Kiwami due to the Heat requirement but rest assured it's absurd which is why you should usually ignore using it unless absolutely necessary because it's so cheesy. I don't think anyone would fault you using it every Majima fight though.
Beast in Kiwami is kind of rough because of not having super armor so you kinda just use it for big items and then back out of it. Use it for the damage buff to weapons on the ground (Like bikes or trees) and then choose Brawler, Rush, or DoD instead for the mobility.

If you missed it I'll point out the two notable differences:
>the jumping shadow animation plays at 2x speed (not actually 60!), despite ending around the same time

Keep in mind this is just in the opening Casino scene, there might be more here alone and who knows about the rest of the game.

One easy to spot problem in-game is NPC text bubbles which have fading animations that play halfway through the text they present.
Some might be obvious to spot over a normal playthrough while some aren't, sure. Comparisons bring them to light, but nobody is going to play the game twice side by side.
However it doesn't change the fact the 60fps patch is not bulletproof and a far cry from native.

If P5 on PC can give proper 60 fps (or how they're doing it with Catherine and duping animation frames where needed) then we'll talk.

It's not just the graphics, you got entirely seamless areas with no loading screens (Only loading screens are to load into minigames or rarely cutscenes), dynamic lighting, dynamic reflections, breakable glass which drops to the ground in pieces, and a whole host of other stuff.

While not specifically on the same line, a distinction for RPCS3 is mentioned in the patch file.
So if that patch doesn't work on RPCS3, then it, and the patches it's with, were intended for the PS3 version as well. If you can use any other patch on the PS3 version, including the one that breaks RPCS3, nothing prevents the 60fps one.

Just tested it now. It feels like it's fixed but it still doesn't feel as proper as the PS3 or PS4 version of darts though it is very close. You still get the occasional hand jitter and when you throw it sometimes does the jitter as well, but it's nowhere near what it was at release where throws would lock up and you would have super speed throws or go from throwing to the board without it being thrown at all. Excuse the rusty playing but I haven't done original darts in a year or so. I'm not sure if the hand being harder to steady in round 2 is my controller or not, I think it is though.

You're spinning it as the emulator being the problem, when it's not. I haven't denied anything you've said about the quality of the emulation other than the 60fps patch. The patch is subpar and the work required for it probably reaches beyond a simple patch (if Catherine's PC port is any indication, see below).

there's also a number of minigames that got replaced with new ones, like that weird massage minigame, and the kiryu as a host minigame.

There won't be any truly uncut release. The HD remaster has some content removed as well.

K2 was pretty good but after 6 I'm slightly skeptical, which is such a shame since 0 was so amazing.

It's missing Club Adam (Replaced with Clan Creator), Marietta (Replaced with Four Shine), Shinseicho (Everything from there was moved to Sotenbori and the story was retooled to have everything take place there instead), a couple substories were condensed into one big one and a couple were removed (I know Pro Slotter and Mahjong 1/2 aren't there anymore) but they added a bunch more because of that, hostesses are removed completely and instead you just date a couple from Four Shine (There were 10 in the original + the four you flirt with once in Adam), and some music was changed up a bit.

Get the Beads of Good Fortune and equip them. They remove all random encounters except in 6 where it lowers the encounter rate drastically. They're sometimes a completion list reward from a certain section, other times you get them from a substory, but most of the time it's a completion list reward.

The Japanese reviews said it was a nice change of pace from the typical Yakuza games and that the story was interesting. I've only played the chapter 1 demo for about 10 hours but that's a fun ride all around so the full game is probably going to be a bunch of fun when you're not stuck with their restrictions. Jumping on walls alone is super fun as is having the blue style. I just wish the ending lag on attacks was shortened because it takes a full second to regain control after a combo finisher.

It's among the same group of patches for what is usable on PS3. I never claimed how effective it would be on actual hardware, just that it was an option. The mod has issues because this is the best it can do, and most of that is frame doubling if lucky otherwise untouched stuff runs at double speed.

I understand the Tanimura situation, it had to be done due to the situation surrounding him and all the drama regarding him leaving the entertainment industry, it just sucks they gave him that peach fuzz on his chin for no real reason when the normal Tanimura didn't have it. Nah, I grew up with Superhuman Samurai Syber-Squad so I've always enjoyed Ultra type stuff. I have pretty much all of Ultra ready to go, I just haven't gotten to watching it yet, that's all. BM's pretty okay, it's mostly OC content but the Enter/Escape stand-ins are pretty nerfed and they have an awful Bulk and Skull counterpart with the brother and sister. OC fights are good though.

Yea Forums memed on Kiwami before PC release and boy is it devoid of content. I think personally my biggest issue was for all the mini-games that came back there was little incentive other than a random Majima.

Both Kenzan and Ishin are still the same formula just with some new ways to fight and some new maps. The formula is always the same so if you dislike it in one game this probably isn't the series for you.

The story in 1 wasn't too involved to begin with so it's understandable. 2 goes more into characterization and goes much more into mystery and twists so it's more engrossing for sure. It's not perfect but it's quite enjoyable.

In terms of gameplay or story, 5 is maybe a contender for all of the minigames it has but 0 is the best story in the series bar none.

0 shoves alot of its side content in your face so you don't miss it so if you play it at the end of a yakuza marthon and just want to get on with the story its gonna burn you out. Yakuza games really need time to play them.

Everyone's got their one that they don't like as much as the others and you also have to be in the mood for such a game (So playing multiple games in a row really will burn you out). My example is more like if you play one of the games and don't like how it does the story or the side content dispersal then you probably won't like the rest because the games tend to follow some of the same beats in terms of structure and gameplay. It doesn't make drastic changes and it doesn't take crazy risks, it just iterates on the previous games.

I was kind of feeling that by the time I got to 3 it doesn't help that 3 is the worst one but yea playing through all 7 games in a row is maybe not the best idea, i dd it and i barely played any of the side stories in the later games.

No. It's a perfectly acceptable game and the kids are fine. Okinawa is also on par with Hiroshima for best cities in the series. It has some blunders in the story, specifically how it structures you playing with the kids and getting to the actual story, but overall it's a nice "beach episode" if you will. Gameplay just takes a bit of getting used to because it still has some minor faults carried over from Kenzan. It also has an enjoyable villain that's actually a thread, and Wesker is hilarious.

I had that experience but at least 3 was the only massive dive in quality, 4 and 5 are kind of old but not that bad.

The problem is that his Heat action overrides tons of other ones, and if anyone is even remotely close to a wall it can activate. Couple this with wanting to use his new ability (The air kick) and you're at a crapshoot if he'll kick someone into the air or being the 15 second kicking spree for no damage.

The unbreakable weapons all have terrible damage though. The iron pipe he gets via the tutorial is like 5 damage, the dagger is like 8 I think, I think there was a long pipe you could get that's slightly stronger. Meanwhile you can wield swords with 50+ damage with 20ish uses or more and just hold onto Repair Kits, but it's such a pain in the ass and a lot of menuing that you end up simply fighting with your fists instead and in Shinada's case he's weaker than Tanimura. The 100 man brawl in particular is incredibly rough even though he can heal. He was harder to do than Akiyama for me. You essentially end up using Essence of Circle Throw I think? The one that lets you hit two or three guys at a time just so you can whittle their health down even with the "Repeated Heat Action drops damage" thing happening.

I simply like having it on. There's literally no other reason and I know it brings a lot of downsides, particularly making you look like an idiot or an asshole. If you dislike anything I say or even just because I use it then filter me. No harm no foul.
