I remember playing the beta, having 20+ minute matches, playing perfectly and maneuvering every thing the opponent throws at me, then just as I think it's close to over, faggot drops some overpowered legendary and I have no way to defend myself from that shit. Game is over and I earn absolutely nothing from my time invested. I kept doing the free roll thing you get for about a month and always got absolute garbage. Very sad because the artwork is superb.

Dofus has a more traditional mmo character progression, Wakfu is way more limited in the amount of shit you can learn. I mean they have revamped the combat systems in Wakfu who knows how many times by now so I'm not sure of the current state, but it never made it so you had a ton of abilities on a character, it usually punished you for spreading too thin.
I didn't get far enough in Dofus to experience all the content, but it's way more solid, and after the graphics update it's not that bad considering it's an old game. Obviously the main drawback is having to pay, and most people there multibox their own squad from what I understand, and will rarely group with anyone.
I heard the best options is to play the mobile version of Dofus, since getting premium is rather easy, or at least it was near release, and people grouped and shit. But I haven't heard about that version in a long time so who knows what's the current state.

A person really needs to play both to see if they like one better over the other since they're different in a lot of ways. A person playing a Sram may like them more in Dofus since they got traps to play with and play more around invis and trickery whereas in Wakfu they may like being able to get behind enemies and do big damage or stealing stats from them. They could also like the stat system in Wakfu more since you get a bigger increase in stats from a level up in various things like init, hp, specific damage% while Dofus you get a smaller boost in few things in the element you choose. Really all depends on what someone may like and if they actually have the patience to play a tactical mmo.

Dofus was the only game for me, I started playing the monoacount servers and was having blast after being away for so long...then they added the real money market and I quit. Wakfu just felt really messy, I played back in the Beta and had fun but the lack of content really killed it. Is it okay to show children all the violence in the show and limbs getting cut off, even though they might grow to like it?
