Are there any channels that show you enemy movesets in slowmo? I think I’m too twitchy for this game and I often try to deflect too early or too late. I need to find the sweetspot.
Get good
fucking retard
Mad? Get good. (:
Around fear, watch your rear
The merchant say that I should listen to some guards about their need of weapons, where are they?
I’m trying to that’s why I’m here.
The guys on the bridge in ashina castle, the one that leads to monkey trouble across some water
Ashina Castle, bridge next to Old Grave should have an eavesdrop indicator.
Can't get past the general with a spear. Dodging isn't working, stepping on his spear does little stance damage, and trying to parry is just futile. I've died to him 20+ times now and I'm losing motivation to keep trying.
Thanks guys!
nexus
zoomer youtubers would be smart to make videos like this. they would get a shitload of views if they made these in the next few weeks.
Just keep trying, jump on his head when he sweeps for big posture hits and a couple extra swipes.
>shoots you
Naomori keeps slapping my shit in, I don't know why he's so hard, I beat DMCV on Son of Sparda with no problem.
NOOO! HELP ME BROS IT'S TOO HARD! I'VE BEEN FIGHTING HIM FOR ALMOST 2 HOURS NOW
There's a skill that makes mikiri do more posture it's quite good against him. Start the fight the same way every time: stealth deathblow, m1 m1, firecrackers, m1 m1, jump attack (kick his head) m1 m1 then back away
Haven't you finished the game yet? It's fucking April
>practice mikiri counter at the dilapidated temple with no problems
>try it in a boss battle and get raped into pieces
It’s a shame this game is so broken.
You buy every game the day they come out?
can you easily get to phase 3?
then dont keep the space
keep close to him parry and attack
wait 4 lightning reversal
So I gave the giant carp pot bros special bait. Now the carp is missing and pot bro is dead in both timelines, did I fuck up?
no1 is autistic as you
The ones worth buying, yes. You have literally no argument anyway, you could just have downloaded the crack.
Good one, ESL-kun.
I think I'm about to stop playing
On NG+ And Owl 2 is such bullshit.
Any one of his attacks hit for half my life and I'm legit just not having fun
Even when getting my ass kicked by Demon and Isshin I was having loads of fun.
this fight is just boring and unfun
I can try to bumrush him and kill his posture but it regenerates nearly instantly.
I can do this stupid poke and run technique and have the fight take 12 minutes which is also terribly unfun
I wouldn't mind him being able to 2 shot me with anything but the shuriken but he has way too much health and this fight just isn't fun.
Yeah yeah get good, learn2parry, yeah all that shit
>You have literally no argument anyway
Considering I haven't made any arguments yet...
Yeah I literally don't
I've beaten all the bosses with minimal trouble under ten tries but decided to take a break before I tackle Isshin. Not expecting it to be as hard as people say it is but what should I expect?
>Carp
Ape arena
>Pot
Check the water, he got what he wanted.
Any tips for the headless? Considering they stop movement is spamming spooky whistle and smacking them the best strategy?
Just watch youtube videos on half speed.
>first time Demon of hatred
>bring him to 1% of his third phase life
>"LMAO so fucking easy"
>gets chain-btfo before I can land the last hit
>fast forward 4 days later, still can't beat him
I'm THAT close to uninstall.
stuck on guardian ape.
I can't beat the fucking shinobi hunter, I managed to do the thrust counter on him once.
Practice the thrust counter with the undead dude for like 15 minutes then you'll have it down. You really want to be able to do it for the rest of the game.
how? demon is just a souls boss, hug his ass and dodge/umbrella his ranged slams
nvm I got him
>how?
dunno brosef
How to beat the big dumb owl man? His hair looks like it smells like shit.
On my first play through and I'm fairly early on. Enjoying it mostly, so try not to spoil me too hard.
Can Dragonrot fuck me over? I've been avoiding using revives because of it since I don't want my NPCs dying or fucking up an end game thing or something, but at the same time I don't want to go though the game without using one of the main mechanics. I know you can cure it with an item but I've only seen a few of them, so I imagine it's a limited item.
I'm sure Vaati is on the case
spooky whistle gets rid of the confetti buff. I find the easiest strat is just go balls to the wall with sugars, confetti and the anti aparition fan. Headless fights are basically bullshit cheeses.
Also when he disappears, start jumping to move out of the way.
next time look at the boss' posture instead of the red kanji unblockable text.
>he doesn't come back after resting at the shrine
is actual bullshit, I wanted to practice against him some more, I can counter the zombie guy easily but it was only on the last try against the hunter was I able to counter him efficiently, I died to the guy like 6 or 7 times.
Mikiri has the most generous timing in the entire game, literally git gud
lead him to one of the corners of the arena and go into sneak mode. he won't be able to hit you with any of his attacks and you can just keep chipping away at him with r1. Just r1 r3 r1 r3 until dead.
Lore Question: Can someone explain to me what actually occurred at Hirata estate? Did Wolf beat both Lady Butterfly & Owl? Or was that just some trippy fantasy alternate reality?
damage his health and don't bother with posture. other than that, treat the fight like genchiro. play defensively, wait for an opening and punish his big attacks. Also certain moves can be interrupted since his swings are actually quite slow.
Is there a way to get confetti that isn't boring and time consuming as shit? I want to fight headlesses but I only have 3 confetti and the blue samurai dudes never drop them
but what about his smelly hair? I think it probably stinks like shit and I feel bad to make sekiro get near it.
filtered :^)
you no longer exist
I assume he bopped Lady Butterfly at the very least, IIRC the Phantom Kunai will be on sale regardless of if you slap up Butterfly or not.
Dragonrot means literally nothing, all it does is stop certain side quests and makes you less likely to recover exp and money on death. Later on you'll unlock the ability to cure it, the items need to cure are limited, but every merchant sells atleast 1 and you'll find a few in the world.
Ring the demon bell, use some sugars.
They become buyable after a specific boss, just ignore the ghosts until then.
Any easy to miss stuff I should grab or do before fighting Divine Dragon or is everything still available afterwards?
he smokes alot of weed.
Is Sekiro his hardest game yet? I don't remember any Dark Souls or Bloodborne help threads
I just stuck to his ass and parried a whole bunch and used the anti-heal stink gas move as an opening for a bunch of free damage.
farm them or get dragon statue
ur merchants will have infinite confetti
How are you approaching him, and what's killing you? You should be pretty safe circling around anticlockwise and being ready to deflect his footstomps, and when he's at range instead of running straight into his fireballs just bait an attack safely and then reapproach. You can deflect the overhead fire arm swings with the umbrella for a bit of extra time. Also, Malcontent stuns him three times, so save that for the final phase.
You mean balloons?
its easy once you get the game mechanic but
funny thing is its soulborne people having more difficult because they gotta readjust themselves to Sekiro unlike new comers they absorb fast
Oh right, balloons. Sorry.
>stop certain side quests
>items are limited
Fuck.
So if I'm stuck on a boss I can hypothetically
>Revive as many times as I want
>Beat the boss
>Pop the dragon blood droplet (or whatever it's called)
And be back to square one without losing anything?
SS isshin phase 2
stupid super armor faggot
Yes. People who boast about how easy the game was for them are 100% lying. I would LOVE for these braggarts to stream their first playthroughs but they never do because they got their asses pounded like everyone else.
>And be back to square one without losing anything?
Yes.
>gotta find isshin to progress the story, i'm told to follow the smoke signals to find his tower
>ok, there's smoke signals fucking everywhere, but there's an obvious path leading to a tower where he could be
>he's not there
>scour the entire castle area for an area, following any and all smoke signals
>absolutely nothing
>give up and look it up
>to get him to appear you have to backtrack and talk to a random npc in the horse boss area, who asks you to kill a specific enemy which he refers to as a "rat" for no fucking reason
>when you do that he teaches you a ninjistu, now isshin is in that close tower for no fucking reason
why the fuck is it so convoluted.
couple tips:
1) if you haven't noticed already, there's a branch on the RIGHT side of the area where he is that you can jump and grapple to, which lets you avoid killing the entire area again to retry the miniboss (though be wary that the weak little bitch on the ledge tends to aggro and run over at some point, still better than re-clearing the whole area)
2) if you want to do it "legit", git gud at mikiri and watch for the sweep
3) if you are fed up, do this: stealth for 1 health bar (i'm sure you're already doing this), then use the AXE, by going R1 R1 R2 R1 R2 R1...etc i was able to fill up his posture in like 10 seconds doing this without him being able to do much of anything. if he happens to interrupt/hit you, just back off/heal and get back in there and repeat before his posture goes back up too much
>see big ogre on the bridge
>decide now is the time to make use of my flamethrower and all this oil I have
>toss 2 or 3 oil urns on him
>hit him with the flamethrower
>does practically no damage
youtube.com
go full tekken mode
Sweet. I was really worried there would be a point of no return where and NPC dies, or something that gives me bad end.
Yeah, NPCs die sometimes but as part of their questlines and not due to Dragonrot.
It actually makes sense. stay tuned!
Is the healy killing blow worth it?
>he's not there
Yeah, but did you read the note that was there?
Vitality restoration after a deathblow? Definitely, I'd say
block his bow reliably and other than that literally just spam R1. if he parries, immediately deflect yourself and continue spamming R1. he will often keep trying to pull out his bow, giving you a free hit to his VIT. when he does his jump/stomp thing, dodge to the side and get some hits in, but be careful as he often follows up with either his thrust or sweep after it.
watch for his chain attack (e.g. where he swings like 5-7 times or whatever), deflecting this reliably fills his posture big time and is pretty easy to deflect.
being aggressive like this works even better in phase 3, the tricky part is just getting close enough to get into the same rhythm since he opens with a lot of perilous attacks that close distance very quickly. i honestly have yet to bother with the lightning counter, always able to burn him down just by spamming R1/deflecting as described, and in phase 3 i just start jumping instead of dodging which seems to work just fine to avoid his attacks.
Yes.
I wish I got it sooner
Broken? Mikiri works perfectly fine against bosses and the timing is super generous.
fuck yes
you get more stacks of it later on and it ends up healing stupid amounts
the guards you can evesdrop before him say red eye'd enemies are afraid of fire, not that fire hurts them more. you only need to throw 1 oil to get the extra effect but even then you're better off just using the fire as it makes him freak out the same. I believe with oil on him it lasts slightly longer, but yeah use fire and get some free hits then dodge back before he can grab you
that thing is game changer
u save healing and doesnt have to go back to rest to refill
Just don’t get hit? It’s not that hard.
literally git gud
For the correct timing you have to look at the actual attack animation instead of the warning kanji, the weapon glint is a better indicator than the kanji alone
it's not as much of a gamechanger as you might think (only heals like 1/5 of your health or so) but it's pretty nifty in a lot of situations, esp because death blows during boss fights count towrad the heal. considering how useless many of the other skills are, id say its pretty solid.
Nope
anybody stuck on based apes?
I'm on ng+4 and never defeated a headless
I'm trying all this but then i make a mistake and I die. I'm cursed and my game is cursed: malcontent only works two times instead of three.
I think that what's getting to me the most. I keep my 12 emblems, always try a third Malcontent, and it literally never ever works which break my morale and I die.
git
you get some free candy effect but thats it
but get headless on fountainhead
free stealth candy u can use using emblembs
pretty worth it
It's very effective. It's almost OP really.
:)
Works really well in conjunction with the ceremonial tanto. Especially if there are enemies before a boss you can sneak up on for a free 5 emblems.
Oil doesn't stack
I'm not sure but there might be a cooldown period with Malcontent where it doesn't take effect. I'm pretty sure the third stun is shorter than the other two anyway though. Also don't forget that you can restore emblems with the Ceremonial Tanto if you're otherwise fucked, assuming you have the health for it.
The fight with both apes is 10 times easier
>that voice
>sek ear o
It is easy. Learning deflection timing trivializes the game.
underage bait
yeah just smack them and parry their shit
get the purple gourd to deal with terror
when they disappear just turn around and start spamming r1, you can interrupt the grab
>play the game
>learn the patterns through trial and error
>haha now its easy
that's not what user meant.
It, along with its clone upgrades are responsible for the inverted difficulty curve in Sekiro. At the start you have fuck all healing items and no alternate healing. By the end you have ten gourds and recover ~20% health per killing blow
For playing normally yes. Though I'd prioritize A/D carp and flowing water > Suppress Sound > Breath of Life > Living Force
Fountainhead Headless drops the posture candy. Gachiin's is from the Village before Mibu
Yeah and playing accordion is easy once you've already learned how to do it
isn't that the one where it has a second fake looking one right next to it
Can I use the ingredients on the incense and burner and go to Fountainhead Palace, and then still go back to beat Owl (Father)?
He's kinda kicking my ass at the moment and I'd like to explore another area.
Yep, just fight him before the last boss
Thank you.
please help me im stuck on lady butterfly
Go back later, she's optional
I beat her pretty easily by being aggressive and dodging around and behind her like playing Bloodborne
its either you beat her b4 genichiro
or beat genichiro b4 her
by the time
shes ez pz
be aggressive. beating her aggressively will also set you up to make future bosses way easier.
1) shurikens are easily blocked/deflected, more reliable than dodging
2) close the gap fast, and hit her with R1 over and over until she herself deflects (big spark); she will then follow up immediately with acounter, if you switch to L1 you can deflect this. this pattern works for like 90% of the humanoid enemies in the game. pressing her like this will fill her posture super fast. also, spamming L1 is a pretty easy way to block her long combo, which likewise will fill her posture big time.
2) use shurikens to shoot her out of the air. just be aware that this only works when she's moving; she'll block them if she's "hovering". this even works when she goes for her jumping grab attack.
3) in phase 2, rather than dealing with the illusions, just run up to her ASAP and wail on her. not only is this an easy way to score a bunch of free hits, it also prevents her from summoning illusions altogether.
4) her butterflies are a PITA to dodge in phase 2 because of her somewhat erratic movement, but they dont hit that hard individually, so IMO you're better off just trying to burn her down ASAP (as described earlier) rather than losing a battle of attrition...e.g. R1 spam > deflect > shurikens.
Level up attack or get attack skills?
Skills. Attack power hits a hard wall after 12 and it takes a shitload of points to make any difference. It's just something for you to do with your skill points after you learn everything.
Don't need help with anything in particular, but what the hell is up with the giant rope guy who brings you to the Fountainhead Palace?
You don't get an achivement for leveling up attack
Seriously though the attack power hits diminishing returns so fast that it's not really that useful anyway, the mask is there just so there's at least something you can spend your points on after several NG cycles
So how am I supposed to deal with the shield guys at the Estate? Just ignore them and walk around? Trying to attack them from the front just leads to me getting bashed, I can't circle fast enough to hit them from behind, and aerial attacks are unreliable at best. They also don't attack often enough for Deflection to matter.
your brain is broken, shitter boy.
git gud.
there's a pretty nifty prosthetic that you walked past on the way there that'll make a big difference.
axe
Oh, the fire thing?
Axe?
Does anyone have the teleport behind you onemind webm?
To be precise I think it's like the first point increases attack by 50%, the second 25%, third 12.5% etc
BIG FUCKING MONKEY!
I can get him down to his headless form pretty quickly but then I'm having way too much trouble, all I can do is use Ungo's Sugar and parry all his moves but if I even try slashing I'll get confused as he does an unblockable move that I either can't see or happens instantly.
>Oh, the fire thing?
No. There's another one past the fire thing. If you are facing "up" the street (e.g. looking deeper into the level), it's in one of the "side areas" on the right side. pretty obvious and you can see it from any of the roofs/walls on that side.
run nigga run
Is this after or before the Shinobi Hunter?
I stopped at the ape. I’m done. I love souls games but this one filtered my ass.
Puppeteer ninjitsu is so broken but easily my favorite thing about the game. Holy shit I use it whatever chance I get. Absolute keks
If you deflect the headless ape's swings properly he'll eventually stand up straight and fall down, and deflecting that stuns him nicely, at which point you can slash him twice (once if you're having trouble timing it) and then use the spear to drag the bug out of him for a good chunk of posture damage
cool yeah no great, I loved slowly dying of poison without being able to heal really liked it a lot was fun.
ape is easy you just need to ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________git gud_______________________________________________________
>It's day 800 of our expedition. The crew are still mining for skill points each day and night.
>We've only 17 points to go yet the men are visibly exhausted and demoralized.
>Speedrunning the same areas over and over, fighting the same bosses and minibosses on higher NG+ modes in the hopes of speeding up the progress and breaking the monotony of just staying in late game outskirts backstabbing the same few soldiers over and over again.
>To whoever reads this, I hope you prey for me and my men as we try to 100% Sekiro
>This is our final stop but I'm not sure if we'll make it, not because it's difficult, but because it's incredibly boring.
>Signed, user.
you can do it user
get the antidote gourd, watch for the farts, block the shits, bait out the attacks, jump for the grab, use firecracker
I never wound up having to do that fight.
when overcome with fear, cover your rear
2nd phase is actually way easier IMO. you're already doing this, but it's all about deflecting. DON'T try to go in for hits between combos, he will fuck you up. instead there's 2 main things to do:
1) deflect his moves, and MAKE SURE you parry his big wind-up downward swing. this will stagger him and he will fall over. go in and hack at him as many times as you can at this point. you can also use the spear two times on his neck/head-hole area to pull out the centipede for big damage when he falls down like this. be ready to sprint away when he gets up since he is likely to do his scream
2) on that note, always be on the lookout for the scream. if you're not being stupid about running in for pointless hits, you should have plenty of time to back off when you see it. the only other move to watch out for is his sweep, which you can just jump over/away.
3) if you get comfortable, you can score a few hits when he does that big lunge thing where he falls down, but don't get too aggressive here since he gets back up quickly
If you're already on higher NG+ modes the exp at outskirts should be good enough that it won't exactly take ages to grind out all the skills
it's before the hunter, and also before the shield guys.
Only trouble I have with Sekiro is buying the damn game. I don't have Paypall set up and most of my free time goes into recuperating from stressful workday.
I wish I was a Neet.
>be ready to sprint away when he gets up since he is likely to do his scream
Alternatively, get the pacifying resistance and heal up beforehand and just tank it while he's screaming, you'll be fine
So I beat the game twice while largely ignoring combat arts but keep reading ichimonji is the best in the game. Why is it so good?
I'm a neet and its pretty sweet, aside from the fact that I contribute nothing to society and hate myself.
never face away from them, and you win. that grab is actually not bullshit for you it's bullshit for them, as it's a useless move from anywhere except behind you. divine confetti plus just wail on him and it's actually very easy, just deflect and make sure you have pacifying agents if you fuck up deflecting his slow attacks.
Does decent posture damage, heals yours, and more often than not staggers enemies including bosses
I prefer High Monk though
or just put on your silly black hat and waddle around.
Should I have not killed the looter?
literally me, holy shit dont know if ill ever make it
There's literally no advantage to killing him and doing so locks you out of a unique upgrade material so yeah I'd say so
oh that's not good
Genichiro is impossible
I've never raged so hard
you'll miss out on lady butterfly's kunais
HOW DO YOU GET BACK TO THE OTHER SIDE OF THE BRIDGE THAT THE FUCKING SNAKE DESTROYED IN THE SUNKEN VALLEY.
FUCKING FAGGOT SNAKE I'M SO GLAD I KILLED IT.
Oh, actually the Phantom Kunai might show up at the shrine next to the practice lad. Maybe.
git gud?
I killed him just to see if you could kill NPCs and he didn't seem important. I very much regret this.
Shimasen warrior miniboss.
I've been running around his projectiles and just slashing him after certain patterns. Is there another way to deal with them? Worked on the first guy in the Depths but I can't be fucked to do it again with this waterfall version. I feel like I'm missing something.
I jumped off the top missed the deathblow, aggro'd some dogs and eventually got terrored by one of the large projectiles and ran away because I had a bunch of coin saved up.
Stop hesitating and deflect, you're supposed to pressure him instead of letting him pressure you. He's the basic "are you playing this game correctly or do you still think this is dark souls" filter.
WHAT
>go to snek before going to sunken valley in NG+
>it's not there
>progress through the game up to everything but sunken valley
>it's still not there
>fine..
>jump off the cliff before walking to the bridge
>snake doesn't destroy the bridge
>move on with the bridge intact
>go up to the pole where you get to kill him
>bridge is suddenly destroyed
Fucking autistic, snake. Why does it need to destroy it.
vore
it does, for more money. They made the offering box so that missable items like that weren't as missable.
I played NG+ and went to kill the snake, but then decided not to finish it off just to see what would happen.
He spits me out in the cave in sunken valley's bottom where the other snake is guarding the heart.
What are memories for other than increasing power? I'm currently at Attack 6 but I hear there's some other use for them.
AXE!
>not exploring everything before leaving an area
you only have yourself to blame, also, it does make sense retard, they're the same fucking person
the NPCs you cannot kill at all are the ones that Sekiro sheathes his sword around.
>puppeteer one sword monkey
>he kills over half of them
good time
i am at the last boss. Blackout. Saves corrupted. Fuck you From!
you can literally R1 spam him. as soon as he deflects, L1 to deflect his counter, and back to R1. half the time he'll try to take out his bow which you will obviously interrupt. only move to watch for eventually is his jump stomp, which is piss easy to dodge/counter. this tactic is almost even easier in phase 3 since he leaves himself open/defenseless even more.
They're pretty straightforward, just pop your terror gourds beforehand to get resistance and use confetti to force phase changes. He's very vulnerable to anti-air deathblows when he's jumping, so you could try looking to punish those. The purple umbrella trivializes his skull lasers.
Owl is kicking my ass. It's the first fight since the very beginning that I've really been struggling with. He just chews through my posture.
I had only been playing the game for a few hours, didn't really think about the consequences.
use the fan. Hit him with it twice and the fight ends.
>Brawl
>Smash 4
>Ultimate
>jump in among them
>use whistle
>grapple off and watch the melee
Comfy
>What are memories for other than increasing power?
Lore? They don't have any other actual usage.
Snuggle up with daddy's hair :3
>red kanji appears
>spam O and hold the left joystick up
Wow so hard
No other uses.
Memories that you've heard talked about might be the two charms you give to the buddha statue to play Hirata Estate.
I would also like my father to stop penetrating me.
>Aion paskoa selällesi, poika!
>I'm going to Pasko on your back, son
?
>I'm going to shit on your back, son
Based Finnish completely untranslatable by google.
Thanks
only works like 20% of the time
game is broken
if i never bought the phantom kunai before the siege on ashina am i shit out of luck
>playing NG+ drunk last night
>get up today
>apparently I beat mada mada in like 3 tries
my Suiken is improving
I can't do shit to the drunk giant asshole in the estate. I don't really want tips on fighting him, I want tips on easily clearing out all of his mooks, everytime I get to that encounter I spend most of my time running around trying to kill all the fodder while getting chipped at so that when I can finally fight the big guy 1 on 1 I'm out of healing and one mistake is going to get me killed, so I don't really have a chance to practice against him.
Offering Box, 4500 sen
You're not supposed to spam it, I have no idea why the guy says spamming will work.
aw fuck forgot about that box, thanks
kill a few guys you can deal with confidently then deaggro
look there's like a million guys, I can kill like 3 before the big faggot gets pissed off
np, I just wish the valley apparitions memo showed up because I can't get it from info broker and thus had to skip Malcontent since Warrior wouldn't spawn
Phantom kunai are shit.
Too expensive to use for little gain.
Go in from the left side, kill the two hanging around there. Proceed through the hall and backstab the shield guy, immediately jump back in and run to the pond. With luck the drunkard is either looking for you in the hall, leaving you fairly free to pick off the rest of the mooks starting with the bowman, or he's standing around the middle of the arena letting you backstab him instead.
Basically go in, kill someone, run away until the aggro drops, repeat.
stealth as many fools as you can. run away and hide when you get overwhelmed and come back for more stealth kills until it’s just you and the drunk bastard. then go talk to the npc to help you fight him.
Use the Samurai to draw aggro and kill all the bandits before he dies
they cost more than normal shuriken i take it?
fucking shit, it didn't take all that long, but goddamn was that frustrating. If I can do it, you can to anons!
kill 3, run back across the water and wait for them to reset. kill more repeat.
like literally every other encounter: just abuse the fuck out of stealth. stealth kill one, run away, stealth kill another, etc
you can also stealth kill one of his health bars, then run and grab the NPC helper dude and double team his weakened ass (the NPC is standing at the edge of the water facing the fat guy)
Is this really the only reliable way to set up this encounter, I hate deaggroing shit in games like this, it feels like cheating.
Yes. 2 spirit emblems as opposed to just 1 on previous shurikens.
Abuse the fact that Sekiro has infinite running stamina. Fatty and the shield guys are slow so you can literally run circles around them, so all you need to do is beeline to the gunners, kill them in two or three hits, run around a bit to gain space so you can take on the katana dudes, and then you should just be left with shield dudes and the fatty. Killing the shield guys is actually kind of a pain because of how slow the startup of the axe is, but they're also so slow that I've beaten Juzou before while just ignoring them completely.
But yeah just keep sprinting. The area is large enough that it should be really hard for anyone to hit you while sprinting. In fact it's a good time to learn an important lesson that sprinting is an incredibly useful defensive tool in this game. If you ever encounter a new boss and want to learn their moveset quickly, don't even bother to attack, just keep sprinting in wide circles around them. Most attacks just don't have the speed and range to catch you, so you basically get as much time as you want to observe their patterns and plan out a way to beat them.
You can't lole, it only contains regular items so I'm okay with that
i mean otherwise you just gotta do what you been doing. if you want to do it without "deaggro", just make sure you stealth kill the tougher guys first (e.g. the ones with shields, etc), since you can just R1 spam the others to death.
You're a shinobi, you do what you must. If you're not yet good enough to handle the entire mob of enemies at once, then don't.
using the Samurai as a decoy is not really that cheap, the boss has 2 targets instead of one but that's it
Beat all bosses, got all endings, NG+ using only the shuriken prosthetic.
Are any other good or useful?
not him but the butterfly missiles are just as useless as when mada mada tries to use them
Firecracker is OP, Umbrella is for RoyalGuardfags
Firecrackers damn near break the game but everything is more or less situationally useful. Fire and poison for staggering and damage, umbrellas for deflecting otherwise undeflectable attacks etc.
Firecracker and Umbrella were the only other prosthetics I used.
What is the point of the monk outside mibu village? The one that's sitting, says he's old, and wants buddha returned to his temple
Whirlwind slash pretty much instakills all the non-armored dudes, just annihilate them and use i-frames from executions to get away with it
Yeah he's wrong, the double headless gives the Yashariku spiritfall (big damage, half Vit and posture)
I assumed he was just there to let the player know the boss was inside the temple.
He wants you to kill the Mist Noble/FWEEE AYLMAO in the temple further up, she's desecrated it and spread illusions everywhere
Meanie
Is Sabimaru, and poison in general, useful against anything? That prosthetic looks real cool
Fuck Ape1 fight, took me 3 times on NG+
Yes! All girls except granny are weak to poison, something about a cursed tribe and poison is their kryptonite. It also helps against the Red Eyes Ashina Elite because that fight is all about killing him fast before he kills you fast
>emmas grab is bigger than chained ogre
holy fuck how do you dodge this?
Cheese her by spamming nightjar slash
The fuck, there is a lore for this thing.
Like some notes about getting into temple by being eaten by snek
It's generally doing okay-good damage once you upgrade it to piercing sabimaru to about anything, and it absolutely wrecks the gun women in ashina depths and gunfort and another tribe in the endgame I ain't gonna spoil
There are enemies in the lategame that get completely wrecked by sabimaru. I'm talking stunned and posture broken in just a few swings, which is especially useful because there are multiple times when they will swarm you and they're not especially easy enemies either.
I tried to play Bloodborne a bit earlier and holy fuck the stiffness
I don't think I can ever go back bros
When you see it coming start running backwards and jump out of the way you dummy.
Headless are fucking gay. One of the worst enemies in the game
Owl 2 is easier than owl 1
Stuck on Owl2 and Demon of Hatred. Which one should I tackle first?
Does the second Corrupted Monk fight after you fight Owl have a secret weakness or way of going about it? I'm guessing he's no longer an apparition, but he still seems to not take much damage, and he has THREE death blows. I feel tired of his moveset when he was already my second to last boss and imo pretty hard.
I'm at the top of senpou temple, I beat the first long arm guy, how do I get to monkeys?
I won't. I beat every souls and bb more the twice. It's more than enough to get a satisfaction.
You can grapple above them and deathblow.
Purple gourd, pacifying agent and divine confetti, then just run in and hammer on them. The headless will be dead in seconds.
Anyone know what the Headless in the underwater cave beyond the icy path at the beginning of the Sunken Valley Serpent Shrine Idol drops?
It does feel kind of "off", I agree.
The dodging and running especially, something feels slightly staggered about it all.
I hate not being able to break out into a run like Sekiro
Get to the top of the Ashina Castle to progress the story.
Excuse me?
What do I do with the Pot Noble? I bought all his stuff.
First and second phases can both be skipped. Grapple to the branch behind her as fast as possible when the fight starts, get a deathblow. When she casts the fog, grapple to the same branch, look down to the middle of the bridge, free deathblow. Then you just have one healthbar to deal with, pretty much exactly the same as the Mibu Village fight but with a few more creepy crawly attacks.
I did that, unless I missed something. I got to the echo with emma and kuro, and beat the one dude in the attic
This, beat it on my first try. Headless ape moveset way easier than normal, and the extra ape is not as aggressive
There are floors above the dojo, through the window to the left. Enjoy.
Everything still available
I think I'll skip most of the final optional stuff and just do the final boss
I did Double Ape in 1 try. 10 times easier than the first Ape fight
The snake eyes chick in sunken valley is fucking me up. Little help friends?
you get locked out of the purification and return endings after killing divine dragon so if you want to do them make sure to do so beforehand
Find the correct tool to make it easier
Isn't there a prayer bead that you miss out on? If you go to the Great Serpent Shrine after Ashina gets invaded by ninjas, there's a Lone Shadow there you can fight for a prayer bead, but I think he leaves after Divine Dragon.
But yeah for the most part everything is the same outside of Ashina Outskirts and Ashina Castle, so anything that you still need to do in those areas, go do them, everything else can be completed at any time.
Every headless gives you a spiritfall ability which is basically unlimited candy that consumes spirit emblems. The one in Sunken Valley is Gokan's Spiritfall.
See
Her grapple can be deflected. It has a big delay but once you know what to watch out for it's relatively easy, and deals solid posture damage.
if you run out, maybe you don't have the amount of healing you could be having at that point? Also use pellets if it's only a little damage. Talk to the samurai to get him to join, but he kinda sucks and often dies against one or two mooks. He can kepp the fat guy occupied for a while though if he draws aggro
Jump away every time she grabs, close the distance with a mid air combat art.
Or cheese her with the infinite deflect-double ichi infinite combo
When does ya boy find a fuckin merchant
You can get an easy backstab from the other idol accross the poison pool
there are two pot nobles. one in hirata estate and one in fountainhead. the one in fountainhead has lapis lazuli for sale which you use to upgrade your prosthetics to the max. after you interact with the great carp go back and talk to either one of them and they'll give you very precious bait to feed to the carp. after feeding it to them and going to see where the carp ends up guardian ape's watering hole and taking the whisker the pot noble whose precious bait you fed to the carp will give you an additional lapis lazuli and carry the stock that the other pot noble had.
I just used the axe to mow down the posture. Ichimonji Double is supposed to be broken in this and many other fights though
>cheesing bosses
Yikes
Keep this tranny shit in the speedrunning /vg/ general
Each area has a memorial mob so the earliest you can find one is in Ashina Outskirts. Anayama the Peddler is also there. You get a more legit vendor later in Ashina Castle who will move to the Dilapitated Temple once you help him escape by killing the troops surrounding him.
What happens to Kuro in the Shura ending?
Other endings are definitely clearer about his fate.
so I'm on the path to fight owl 2, does the lone dogfucker stop summoning dogs at some point
just kill the brown ape first. she only really attacks you if you hit the guardian ape or he does his terror attack. other than that she pretty much just chills so just run after her and hit her while avoiding guardian ape's attacks. once she's down it's just phase 1 over again and he's pretty easy.
i think you probably kill him with the mortal blade (though is that even possible without the dragon tears? i don't know).
what happens to him in the return ending though? it looked like he died to me.
I couldn't disagree more
2 shurikens into his leap slash is a guaranteed 2 hits on him every single time
He doesn't do that move anymore and instead swings and jumps all over the place
The Mikiri Counter is good but it's only 1 hit and he doesn't do it consistently enough
Does giving the viscera to rice loli lock me out of Kuros plan? I hate leaving content dangling but I gotta follow my lords wishes here.
Sekiro becomes a demon of hatred armed with a mortal blade who would go on to terrorize Japan for years to come. While Kuro still needs dragon tears to sever his immortality completely, If he wasn't able to flee Japan, I imagine he would end up like Queen Annalise in Bloodborne.
There's probably shota doujinshi of that being made right now.
No, it just unlocks an option you can choose after the final boss that will let you choose which ending you want.
Dope. Thanks g.
you don't get locked out of any ending by fulfilling the requirements for another one. you only get locked out of endings by not doing them before killing divine dragon. which ending you get all depends on what items you give to kuro after killing isshin. i was going for the plat so i backed up my save after killing isshin to get all 3 endings that were possible at that point. then i did the shura ending on NG+.
Absorbed into rice loli's heart and can now observe everything she does. Even lewd things
What are the passives in the senpou skill tree? Skill levels are starting to take a while to build up and i don't wanna waste 2 point for the first skill if they suck.
First off, Senpou tree kicks ass. Second, it's not a game changing boost but its noticeable once you get both.
They're just abilities that are always active, instead of ones you have to press a button for. Virtuous Deed is good if you need to farm for sen/items.
The one on the bottom makes the buff candies last longer. The two on the top increases sen and item drop rate from enemies
uh senpou has i think two passives that increase sen and rare item discovery rate and one that increases the amount of time that buddhist candy works.
i just finished acquiring every single skill yesterday as the last trophy i needed for the plat. it was pure cancer. i needed 70K per skill point at the end. thank god i didn't waste any skill points upgrading my attack power with the mask.
That's neat, but pretty low priority, yeah.
There's no way that works
seething
if you keep hitting him he cant summon anything. dont let him whistle.
> playing drunk NG++ Owl 2
> drank so hard I fucking puked on the floor
> almost beat him, but died
> next day
> beat him on 1st try
Stop axing stupid questions
I really enjoy the gameplay but I don't have any reasons to play anymore. I already completed NG6 with no charm and bell demon. When are they adding chalice dungeons.
How the fuck do I get any sort of damage in for Issin's second and third phase? I can handle the first half of the fight perfectly with basically no damage but when that spear comes out it's all downhill.
never. That's not Team Ninja. Bud that's not a bad thing either.
I hope you use umbrella.
Fireworks for phase 1, umbrella for phase 2.
Don't listen to fireworks losers. Throw Oil then vent it.
When will you fags stop replying to this shit. Have some self respect.
third phase lightning reversal does pretty good damage. second phase it's more about filling up his posture gauge than doing serious damage to him though you can get some hits in after a mikiri counter or when he leaves an opening after an attack. when he does the jumping attack it's easy to run towards him and ichimonji him from behind (though if i do the double he usually swings his spear before i can block his next attack).
use the lotus umbrella if you get stuck in a place where you're going to take fire damage, jump over his unblockable charge attack, save the malcontent for phase 3 and if you did the return ending use fine snow and/or rice balls when you get late in phase 3. that's what i did and i beat him like my 5th try. i already had beaten isshin though or i might have saved the fine snow/rice balls.
can any1 help me with oldman isshin
holy fuck hes harder than SS Isshin
I just want a quick short access to fighting bosses over and over.
no he's not. his first phase is easy and while his flame attacks are annoying they're not terrible. just make sure to get to a snow patch when he does the entire room flame attack and then use the umbrella to block his attack afterwards. emma and isshin first phase are easy enough so hopefully you'll have at least 75% of your healing items left for phase 2.
Wait- do the gourds stack with the standard items?
also if you manage to save most of your spirit emblems and have shadowrush it's a great way to get a ton of damage on him in phase 2 quickly. he can't block it and then you can hit him another 3 or 4 times on your way down.
Don't spam attack, get close to him and attack once. Most of the time he'd do the sidestep into attack which you can deflect.
If he blocks the attack or whatever just continue chaining until he gets a deflect and you deflect his counter attack.
When he goes for fire ichimonji attack do not try to deflect it, just dodge/get behind him and stay there.
As for his slow attack that turns entire arena into fire you want to use axe to interrupt him. As long as you read the animation quickly you won't take damage.
>Your posture doesn't matter, don't worry about it, if you get poster broke just roll out of it. Literally no boss in the game game takes advantage of it
>Mikiri timing: Wait until the symbol above your head starts to fade away then press forward + dodge
>Sprinting is better than dodging, when in doubt sprint away
>Firecrackers are free stun + damage on bosses
>Upgrade the umbrella to negate terror and fire damage attacks (Useful against headless and hatred demon)
>If an enemy is jumping / in the air shuriken will stun them (useful against lady butterfly)
>Use the whistle to turn the dogs against their owners (useful against dog ninja mini-boss)
>Piercing sabimaru makes most enemies a joke
>Puppeteer ninjutu is the best one, makes certain mini-bosses a joke (Like that one ninja in the Ashina castle dojo, or spear guy before final boss)
>Fountainhead palace is a good grinding area, start at the pot noble idol and stealth kill everyone / sabimaru cheese, homeward bone, repeat
Where my divine abduction/golden vortex negroes at
Close the distance or at least try to stay airborne when he does the fucking inferno room, stay behind him when he is executing his fire shit. Fight him the same as phase one besides that.
>Literally no boss in the game game takes advantage of it
I think there is one but you have to go out of your way to find him. He can also mikiri you.
Free money, extra drop and insta kill.
I ain't complaining. It's pretty good.
i wish i had good upload speed I would have been a youtuber or streamer 9 years ago, still stuck on that DSL in the sticks
just try to stay behind him, his attacks are reasonably predicatble, and only one out of four or so attacks actually comes quick enough to catch you on his back
also if he charges his scream while you are right infront of him, run past him and keep running, it has vastly reduced range to his back and won't hit you
I feel you, brah. That mode sucked in Nioh since bossess were trash, but would've worked perfectly in Sekiro. Also where is this dragons hand?
You mean Owl second fight? That's my favorite boss, he does have a lot of tricks that no other boss does.
Got to final boss last night, tried a couple of times but didn't dive deep bc it was late. About to spend my entire night on the fucker and end this shit though
tips?
>die at least 20 times to some not-even-boss guy because I forgot you can dodge and it's actually useful
fuck
In shadow realm arm-wrestling with sekiros and wood carvers arms.
So I'm pretty good at deflecting Monk's attacks now.
If enemy is a woman you unzip sabimaru and do what you have to do.
I simply suck ass at Genichiro/Isshin. Any tips? I can stay in tight and do the first two forms all but flawlessly pretty consistently, but I just get fucking ran on in the next ones. I try staying close, at least in the third form before lightning, and I'm getting better there. The last form just fucks me up, not even the lightning as much as the fuckhuge sweeping attacks.
Shitty advice from a noob. It's like a virgin telling other virgins how to get laid.
I haven't actually played Nioh much, only until Sawayama castle where I dropped because I got sick of level design and enemies. So I don't really know how chalice dungeon works in it, I was talking more about Bloodborne where dungeons are rng and they can be either short or very long but you can share them with others or co-op in them. Granted I don't think they'd do co-op in sekiro but randomized memories, dungeons with bosses at end is something that'd be nice.
Yes.
that's some serious projection, you cockloving fairy!
Become Wolf personal boypussy.
So what do I do after I kill Demon of Hatred? There's a locked door in this room, but I don't see anything else.
what exactly did he say that was incorrect? are you just miffed because your HURR DURR UBERHARD game is more flaccid than your pathetic tranny dick?
Her first two phases are a fucking joke though, considering how weak her posture is and how you should've gotten plenty practice from the Illusory monk anyway
owl 1 takes advantage of a posture break but it's easy to escape before he does it
>Your posture doesn't matter, don't worry about it, if you get poster broke just roll out of it. Literally no boss in the game game takes advantage of it
There are combos that don't account for broken posture so it's still useful to keep track of it. Otherwise it's still good advice
fucking gottem
>hurr use da firecrackers durr
You might as well tell them to attack and deflect. What's your next piece of wisdom, you can mikiri thrust attacks and use the gourd to heal?
>UBERHARD
This is a casual game.
Broken posture only matters on NG+, when regular blocking gets you killed
Owl take advantage after he break you posture.
I killed him (and Genichiro) without ever getting a single mikiri counter. Try using the side of the stairs.
Give me that source
be agressive. first phase just keep attacking and deflecting unless he starts charging an attack where you can just run away and then behind him for 2-3 hits.
second phase use the same strategy, when he kicks you away he almost always does a thrust attack so be ready to mikiri him. when he does the jump attack run towards him and he won't do a follow up and you can ichimonji him from behind. he also does like a 5-6 move attack which ends with a thrust attack you can mikiri for significant posture damage (even more if you deflect his other attacks successfully).
third phase is the same as 2 except for his lightning attack which you can reverse to do a decent chunk of damage and stun him for a few seconds. he's really not THAT bad but definitely tough. i actually found that just fighting him normally was easier than trying to do the cheese method that seems to be popular in youtube videos. it might take you like 5-10 fights to get used to all his moves and how to effectively deal with them though. good luck.
do you mean you didn't use it or couldn't time it?
Kuro chaaaan~
Fun fact
He either moves in a strait line or in a circle so if you get up towards the walls he will either run straight into the wall or run in a half circle and then get stuck, give you all kinds of time for hits.
Why can't you get it from info broker?
thank you based anons i beat him
desu Oldman Isshin should've been called Sword Saint
now im off to owl 2 wish me luck senpaitachi
do i have to beat the seven spears ashina dude by the part where you start the game? i beat genichiro no problem, but i can't handle this cunt. I tried the cheese of jumping on his head but it doesn't work for me. it's also boring as fuck having to spend 5 mins clearing out the area of enemies every time i die again
You can finish the game without beating him, but you should beat him because later bosses are way worse and you need to learn to fight him.
Let me guess, you beat SS Isshin on NG and old man Isshin on NG+? Because that's exactly what I thought too and then loaded an old save for curiosity's sake and NG+ SS Isshin took me 5 hours
I also had a huge problem with him, the move that is most useul to break his posture is the jump counter when he sweeps the blade, don't miss this.
Why is the Owl so fucking heavy?
i'd rather learn against the later bosses, seeing as all of the bosses so far don't require me to waste so much time just clearing out trash mobs before i can fight them
yeah my first NG was SS Isshin
NG+ was oldman
Go out the window in the dojo
Well all I can say is get some lube for SS Isshin on NG+, you're gonna need it for that spear
I DON'T WANT TO FIGHT THE FUCKING APE AGAIN. HOW DO I CHEESE IT?
jesus christ I keep getting lost in this game
is mibu village another dead end?
also that place reminds me of Siren
How the fuck do I make my ps4 controller work
fire cracker is ultimate cheese for that mogloid
go to spectral corrupt monk beat him
get the ball inside of the cave
go back to kuro
you're gonna want as many prayer beads as you can get so if you keep skipping minibosses you'll regret it later when your posture and health aren't as high as they could be. besides you get a free steath deathblow on him by just going into the building the same way you did in the tutorial and coming up behind him.
I'm stuck at isshin ashina (old)
Not looking for advice, just need gentle encouragement that I can do this.
So.. Is it coming out for the Switch? My PC is a potato.
when genichiro does that jump in the air followed by a thrust, half the time i can't muriki counter the thrust after, but half the time i can. Like when I can't do it i press circle but i don't move. Do you have to parry the jump attack to be able to muriki counter, or is the game janky as fuck like ds is?
i didn't have anywhere near as much trouble with SS Ishin on NG+ that i did with him on NG. took me maybe 7 or 8 tries before beating him.
never experienced trouble countering that
isn't his moveset the same as those bald monk dudes in black/white robes?
you can do it. make sure to go to a snow patch when he does the entire room flame attack and then use the umbrella afterwards to block his crazy attack. also shadowrush is really useful on phase 2 if you manage to save your spirit emblems and purchased that skill.
That works even when he's headless?
umbrella trivializes his spear
snow patch? never saw one. I just firecracker'd his charge up and he never used that ability or followed with One Mind
>attack the feeding grounds guy just for fun
>his moveset is the same as the chained ogre's
see the corner in this webm? that's a snow patch and the entire room fire attack won't affect you there.
very cool, though I think I prefer the firecracker interrupt
sometimes you're not close enough to him when he starts the flame room attack though, plus projected force after blocking his flurry attack with the umbrella does a decent chunk of damage. firecrackers is a good option too though.
No. It barely runs on PS4.
>finally manage to defeat him
>theres a second phase
Welp, i guess this is it for me. Im done with this fucking game
You can parry their shield bashes too.
>third phase is the same as 2 except for his lightning attack which you can reverse
How do you do this? Just a regular deflect? Does it work on all lightning attacks? Because I cannot fucking do it without getting cucked and shocked for 3/4 of my health. Am I just retarded? It seems like a gimme but I get absolutely obliterated by this nigga and his 37 movesets. God fucking damnit!
You will be filtered anyway later if you already struggle and don't want to git gud.
If you send balding Japanese accountant in before you he’ll draw aggro on everyone and you can easily just take them out on the perimeters because they don’t de aggro from him until you hit them
You can literally stand right beside them and they’ll completely ignore you if they have started aggro on him. The game is like that in a lot of places, it’s also why puppeteer is sleeper OP for most scenarios. Aggro is fucked
jump in the air right before he shoots the lightning and hit r1 right as you get hit by the lightning. timing can be tricky though especially since it's not easy to get to his third phase and practice it early on. you can also just run behind him or to his side and dodge the attack completely if you aren't confident about reversing it.
If you beat the Iaijutsu guy back in first visit you get to read a scroll behind him that tells you how to do it.
You jump just before lightning is about to hit you
You then press attack button while mid air, if you land you take damage.
Also how the fuck do you even reach final boss and not learn how to lightning reversal. There was literally a gimmick boss who you defeat by just doing that.
Aged Mist Raven is pretty good because many enemies stay aggrod to the cloud of feathers you came from for a solid two seconds even after you teleport from it
Whistle is undeniably good for pulling one purple ninja at a time but undeniably boring
Some people apparently get mileage out of the axe for doing posture damage to minibosses
And flame vent is good once you get living force, many enemies have long ‘oh no I’m burning’ animations you can get a lot of vit damage into by just vent+swipe with that skill unlocked
How the fuck was I supposed to know a dude charging his weapon with lighting and cucking you with it would have the same mechanics as a clearly setup gimmick boss where lightning strikes trees that you swing around on as the only way to do damage and that I should just jump my ass up in the air to get hit by it in the off chance I could deflect it?!
Thanks for your help though, kind user.
Am I the only Chad who never used the crutch known as the umbrella throughout the whole game? You need your greatshields too souls babies?
like parry timing? I spam it as soon as I jump and its 50/50
I was too stupid to find the umbrella so I just spammed shurikens the whole game
Because there was a boss who did that.
There were also normal enemies and dogs who did that. And most important of all there was the scroll in Ashina Dojo.
It is kind of dumb though that tutorial for things only pop up once and you can never look back at them ever again.
you could also just dodge the lightning attacks
The only time I can see umbrella being really good is against bulls, DoH and terrorfags. I never saw the point of them against anything else, even the projected force counter attack is so slow.
Is this actually bait? Nobody can be this inept at something.
yeah that was about my success rate as well with isshin. maybe 60/40 success/fail. i think i beat him the third time i got him to phase 3 so i never got a chance to practice and figure out what i was doing right/wrong to get it to work 100% of the time. i'll probably try that in another playthrough or NG+.
when does this happen?
2 of them? HOW
Nah.
How the FUCK do you beat the Giant Dad? Not even Genichiro gave me so much trouble. The dude just shrugged off the deathblow.
I've beaten the game 11 or 12 times and still can't reliably reverse lightning
The application of deflecting lightning for the divine dragon is a fucking long shot from Isshin, to be fair. It’s also in the fourth fucking phase of his so pardon me for not ending that marathon with a little trial and error. I guess I missed that scroll the first time through, and I always dodged the dogs and other lightning dudes.
Shut up, nerd.
That guy was an absolute cunt, I spent ages trying to beat him.
I didn't go out the right window and found my way to a tower with purple flags next to the dead tree following the nightjar smoke signals from the arena at the castle's top and spent like an hour trying to figure out how to get in before looking it up and realizing there was a different fucking tower entirely. Felt extra stupid because I'd already snuck into it and found Isshin's letter while making my way up to the Dojo before I even fought Jobichiro
this is my first soulslike, I'm coming from monster hunter world thats way more forgiving with the dodging, whats the gits of it? should i dodge to the side or back or block or jump what? just started, the general asshole after the chained ogre is fucking me up
>can do a move perfectly in a controlled environment
>all goes to shit in the heat of a real fight
You're an unskilled player? Either that or every fighting game combo I've tried to use over the years is also broken.
He’s super weak to any type of thrusting attack. Either the regular one you get by holding down attack or shadowrush/shadowfall. It fucks with his programming and he can’t get any of his moves started if you just do it in neutral.
Understandable.
Jump before you're about to get hit. Don't jump as soon as they jump or you see the icon.
You want to be mid air when you throw out the attack.
It's often a good idea to Deflect more often than you dodge. Even if you didn't parry and just got a block, posture damage regenerates fast if you're guarding. Dodging is more useful to reposition yourself out of shit and avoid grabs.
You also have iframes on the jump so it's also worth to jump out of things often.
Yeah I can usually time my jump pretty well, then I spam which works but I'm not sure if its fucking me or not when I dont succeed
Shit, I completely forgot you had a thrust attack. I'll try that then, thanks a bunch.
Thanks for your help though, I know I’m being a daft cunt but I do feel like some mechanics are purposely obfuscated and some designs, like a four tier boss fight with a fuckton of moves, isn’t the best the series has ever seen.
Still loving it despite Isshin pushing my shit in.
help
Much easier to deal with once you upgrade your umbrella to deflect apparition type attacks.
Get inside the little house, wait for the deathblow and then sprint the fuck away
send help
gimmick bosses need to fuck off.
Me too, but i also didn't used crackers and combo attacks(lb+rb) post midgame.
Is this the first encounter? If so look for a blind to sneak into.. you’ll figure it out from there.

These threads are better than the general
/vg/ was a mistake, every general is just porn discussion
am scared
Whenever I look at /vg/ catalog I think I'm at /d/ or something from the pictures
take that fucking loser not even close
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH
A combination of flame vent +the skill to put your sword on fire + being super fucking agressive until he burns and then charged Axe lets you literally burn your way into the third phase without spending a lot of estus.
Then it's pray he won't hit you. I could never Lightning reversal, only dodged to the side and countered.
Not every boss needs to be a top 10 anime battles, I love that From always includes a couple of gimmick bosses just for variety.
Why would you want to contribute to a society that hates you, and wants you dead?
Why is he crying? :(
The rifle guy called him dumb fatty
Do it like the first guy you quoted suggested. You don't need that boring ass deaggro shit at all.
dude i JUST beat him
get fire umbrella
>i-frames from executions to get away with it
Executing the bomber throwing guys while their bombs explode at point blank range is great.
I'm on NG+ now, how do you get the best ending? I know it involves the rice loli and giving her books and that kite at senpo but I have no idea what else I need to do.
Are people really getting this ass blasted by the game that this thread is a thing?
youtube.com
collect persimmons
Literally the only use I get out of the umbrella is getting the shichimen to calm the fuck down. I don't understand the hype.
user only 12% of PS4 beat the last boss
I dont get it.
How do i get fucking good? Its like i have the reaction times of a 60 years old and i only got so far because i got lucky with the previous bosses.
Im complete shit at this game and i dont know how to improve.
I bought the game together with a friend and he'l almost finishing it. im so ashamed
This fucking game is breaking me, Yea Forums. Please help.
What's the secret to rice loli's rice?
Sad.
>the last boss
Which last boss are we talking about here?
spar with ministry ninjas for warm-up
also spar with armor samurai(lategame) for slowed tempo enemy
then go for boss
i always spar with these chumps b4 boss
they also give u emblems so win win
thanks b
Sword Saint.
SS Isshin(currently about 12%)
old man Isshin(17%)
That nigga isn't balding, samurai deliberately shaved their hair like that so their kabuto would fit snugly on their head.
Go to Steam big picture mode>options(cog)>controller settings>check Playstation Configuration Support
Then go to Sekiro>Manage Game>Controller Options
Actually I forgot what exactly what you do at the last part but I think you just tell Steam to manage controllers for this specific game.
Works outside big picture mode so you only need to set it up once.
I've not come to a boss yet, still trying to get into the combat and not let the old bloodborne or souls instincts take over.

Going for new game plus right now. Went unspoiled through to the Severance ending.
Now looking up the other two endings, should I do Shura for the different final bosses and Combat Art first, or Purification for the last two prayer beads instead?
Just try to remember to block/deflect or jump don't dodge.
If that's the guy I think it is, you can cheese it by doing a back dodge and then holding r1. Repeat until deceased.
If doesn't work, using DS4 in Exclusive Mode works for me
Is the unkillable guy at the dilapidated temple there this early in the game? Needed to practice on him to get the timings down at first.
other 3 you mean
1.severance
2.Shura
3.Sacrifice
4.Return of the Dragon(true ending)
Ya he is up the hill to the right.
Lady Butterfly can be beaten extremely easily by utilizing the dodge attack, which is performed by attacking immediately after dodging. Spamming dodge/attack rapidly whilst changing the direction of the dodge effectively stun-locks the boss and renders her unable to perform any of her dangerous attacks, with an exception of a few quick attacks that deal small damage. If the boss manages to escape the stun-lock and jump onto the illusory strands, throwing a Shuriken at her knocks her off immediately and deals considerable poise damage. The reason for using the dodge attack is that the damage passes the boss' guard and deals damage directly to her health, therefore slowing her poise regeneration drastically.
HESITATION IS DEFEAT
thank you all
I beat him a boring way which was running around until he does the small lunge where he belly flops on the ground. You jump into him roughly before he hits the ground. Hit him only twice (3 if you wanna be greedy and risk getting him with the aloe scream)
Is there a fan translation in the works? Remember a thread discussing everything wrong with the translations for this game (giraffes, lady butterfly, ).
nexus mod has it
but this mod also "fixed"
normal translation
I've played for a few hours and I'm still not sure the most effective way to play. I went into Hinata an hour in and got my ass kicked by lady butterfly for a while before realizing I could cheese her by just dodging toward her. I was never fast enough to break her posture before just taking her health down because parrying seemed pretty useless. The same strategy of spamming dodges worked pretty well on the horse boss too but I feel like I'm playing the game wrong. Parrying bosses does fuck all for posture damage and they regen so quick I feel like I need to just whittle health down
Is bite down meant to be used when about to die, and resurrect without blocking the rest of your resurrectio nodes?
When you take his first bar out he sometimes follows his jumping attack with a slice instead, so keep that in mind too.
Posture regen goes way down as health goes down, so at first parrying seems worthless but when the boss is 25% down on HP the posture damage starts to noticeably pile up, if you do everything right normally you posture break the enemy before you kill them.
The same applies to you too, if you are full hp holding guard for 1 sec will reset the entire bar, if you are almost dead it maight take 3-4 sec
Why can't I eavesdrop on the guys in the hidden forest, outside of the house right next to the corrupted monk spirit?
>tfw I did senpou temple, sunken valley and mibu village before finding kuro
>killed genichiro on my second attempt
I can't be the only one who is fucking blind and completely missed that window by the tengus
Yeah wtf is that shit.
Dragonrot only increase on true death, revives don't count. Which is fucking weird because you already have a penalty for true death (losing xp and gold)
exploring all thing b4 genichiro is actually not bad
I found it and thought that was a zone I had to do later
You can cheese them with the spooky fan. Soak some hits, project force, and repeat. Just be careful to not attack when they vanish, because you won't have time to dodge if they go for your asshole.
do a playthrough on ng+, at every boss you want to practice backup the savefile into a separate folder
Sorry he meant to say “Git Gud”
you wanna hear a secret? sekiro's gameplay is literally just dark souls sword & board with improved shield mechanics and added mobility options. if you play sekiro exactly like a sword & board run of dark souls, the game is piss fucking easy.
beat the game first then talk
>tfw games with shields in them are mostly worthless to block with
>game without shield has the best blocks
I don't understand From
Yes. You get a second version of it for double healing after beating O'rin
THANKS
I beat Lady Butterfly first try, are people really struggling with her? didn't even use snap seeds, was retarded and forgot to pick up the key earlier and tried to use them to open the door thinking it was like a dark souls illusion door
Yeah, especially if you have a sliver of health and are about to eat an attack. When you revive, you'll be at half health, so it's also a backhanded free heal of sorts.
The firecrackers don't do shit nigga
snap seeds suck, it's easier to just keep away from the ghosts and then dodge all the butterflies
hug his ass, also the firecrackers do work but you have to throw them close to him
I had to res once because I didn't realize the butterflies even existed and when she popped the faggots out of existence I got obliterated in an instant, but I never had to deal with it again because I beat her pretty quick after that
>every mini and regular boss gives me trouble
>takes several tries to beat
>feel like im not improving at all and just getting lucky
>currently stuck on Genichiro and honestly considering giving up on the game
>meanwhile a friend who bough Sekiro on the same day as me is cruising through the game without a problem like he's playing Asscreed or Bamham
How do i get gud, Yea Forums? Why do i suck so much at this game?
In order
You can do it right after you beat the Guardian Ape fight
Yes, 2.
It's more of a scare than any real difficulty bump. The brown ape is really passive and only really comes up to attack you when the headless ape is finished attacking and would leave himself wide open. It doesn't have the brap or shitflinging attack, has fuck all for health, and gets posture broken after 3-4 firecrackers.
That said, I still got stuck on this fight for several hours after taking out the regular Ape fight on the first try. I felt like a complete retard for not being able to do it.
if you sidestep you dodge them all anyway
FUCK THAT OWL NIGGA AND HIS OWL NIGGA PET
That's no way to talk about your father
You gotta learn to deflect, dude. Not block - deflect. The game really minimizes the importance of deflects but they are SO important, and Genichiro melts like a snowman under repeated deflects. He's literally no-hittable in like 30 seconds if you perfectly deflect his stupidly-telegraphed attacks. LEARN TO DEFLECT!
I got smashed in the back because as soon as the guys disappeared I ran through and instantly started hitting her
FUCK the iron code, this asshole locked me out of a fifth of the game
This, the timing for deflect is also pretty genereous compared to parrying in other DS games or Royal Guard, just practice it for a bit and you will get it fast
nvm that shit was easy and I'm a god
this boss is fucking cancer
This game is really, really good at making you feel like an actual god when you finally defeat even the smallest miniboss.
shuriken him
