They think it's bad and that I should go outside. No amount of real world achievements, academic or otherwise, have changed their view on this. In their eyes, I would simply be "even more successful" if I didn't play vidya and that they have somehow ruined my life, despite me having a fairly decent life by most peoples' standards including my own. It might also be worth noting that I'm a lot more accomplished than my parents were at my age and I'm doing better than most of my extended family. It simply isn't enough for them

My dad is an old black boomer who can’t execute QTEs on the Fast and Furious game he tried to play on my old Xbox. He always called my games a waste of time when I was growing up and didn’t really respect them as my hobby.
