The story was so fucking bad. Not even in a corny way like the previous games, just fucking horrendous, pointless, and stupid. DMC6 may as well just be Blood Palace, they clearly squandered way too much of the fucking budget on this god awful schlock.

DMC 5 is on par with vanilla 4. 1 and 3 are better and I can't see anyone refuting this with a straight face.

My ranking is based of the normal/devil hunter difficulty. I didnt include DmC or DMC2 because Ive never played them.

I really feel like 5 was suprisingly easy on my first playthrough. Also given how many more options you have ads to this. Plus SDT can evaporate bosses

I get that it's an action game so whi cares but it was pretty dumb. The writers had to try way to hard for characters to talk around plot points.

Dante basically knew what was up from minute one. I remember dialogue that felt very forced in being obfuscated. Then you finally get passed all that and get to Vergil showing up and I understand Dantes motivation for wanting to fight but no Vergils. It feels like things just happen in service of the gameplay not any plot, which is fine because it would stupid if we didnt get a Dante v Vergil fight.

That's the whole point of his fucking character you retard. Vergil flanderized himself in his pursuit of power, eventually just seeking power for powers sake, whereas Dante always became stronger than Vergil as a result of his active protection of innocents.

The entire story is about Nero coming into his own, becoming his own Devil Hunter totally seperate, and even surpassing, Dante and Vergil. Him deciding to break the cycle of attempted fratracide is the key point of the story, and is essentially the finale to Dante and Vergils story.
