Shit, that's tough. For some reason, most of the "final levels" of the games I play are just either a boss or a short hallway with a few minor hazards leading up to a boss.
Where the fuck do these images keep coming from? Is this website some Library of Babel shit where it has every possible combination of lists of ~20 best/worst [videogame thing]?
American Venom
Don't even have to read the article but i just know that Halo will be on there somewhere
Idk some Wily Castle
FFVIII Ultimecia Castle.
I really wasn’t expecting anything and it completely blew me away.
i'm so used to cyborg Raiden i thought the pic was Dante for a moment
Playing as Jack & getting revenge for your father by killing Edgar Ross in RDR1
Metal Slug 3: Final Mission
Ended the series perfectly too.
Here's the list
18. Aircraft Carrier - Crysis
17. A Just Cause - Just Cause 2
16. Cradle - Goldeneye 007
15. One Card Left To Play - Max Payne 3
14. Episode 5 - The Walking Dead Season 1
13. Dragonslayer - Skyrim
12. Kiln Of The First Flame - Dark Souls
11. Citadel - Half Life 2
10. World 8-4 - Super Mario Bros
9. City Of Fear Finale - Arkham Knight
8. Rainbow Road - Mario Kart Series
7. Ganon's Castle - The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time
6. The World That Never Was - Kingdom Hearts 2
5. Chapter 15: Welcome - Spec Ops: The Line
4. The Firefly Lab - The Last Of Us
3. Arsenal Gear - Metal Gear Solid: Sons Of Liberty
2. Halo - Halo 3
1. Suicide Mission - Mass Effect 2
>No Silent Hill 2 Historical Society.
It's shit.
> Suicide Mission ranked #1 again
Literally haven't played this game since i was a kid, why does everyone circlejerk this level so much?
Probably the world that never was. It was very cool looking, and running through beating up all the organization members was one of the best endgame boss gauntlets I can remember. So many memorable moments and interesting gimmicks in those fights and cutscenes. KH3's endgame felt way cheaper by comparison.
Bloodborne, can't remember what the bosses's name was
>Klin of the first flame
I love Dark Souls 1 but that area was whack
i like how he sniffs you I always thought that was silly
Because it has a great track.
For me in no particular order its:
Goemon's Great Adventure
Ace Combat 4
Devil May Cry 3
Pokemon Diamond/Pearl
Final Fantasy Tactics
Yugioh!: Over the Nexus
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
Tales of Symphonia
Dragon's Dogma
Sly Cooper
same reason people circlejerk mass effect in general, it was the first M-rated game their parents finally bought for them
>mass effect 2
>not halo reach "survive"
it's not #1 either way but eat shit
Megacorp HQ in R&C: Going Commando. Easily one of the best levels in the entire franchise. To bad it leads to the most disappointing Final Boss in the franchise.
That level of GoW 1 where Kratos fight other Kratos(sses) to protect his wife and daughter.
Also, how Kojima got away with this?
For me personally it's these
> 1. Vs The Boss - Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater
> 2. Final Colossus - Shadow of the Colossus
> 3. Rapture Central Control - Bioshock
> 4. Ganon's Castle - The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
> 5. Escaping Aperature Labs - Portal
> 6. Shadow Lord's Castle - NieR: Replicant
> 7. Ganon's Castle - The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
> 8. Kefka's Tower - Final Fantasy VI
> 9. Axis Pillar - The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky SC
> 10. Nightmare - SoulCalibur (1999)
> 11. Zanarkand Ruins - Final Fantasy X
> 12. Arsenal Gear - Metal Gear Solid 2; Sons of Liberty
> 13. Suduko - Zero Escape: 999
> 14. Hollow Bastion - Kingdom Hearts
> 15. E.G.G. Facility - Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga 2
> 16. Xibalaba - Persona 2: Innocent Sin
> 17. Hyrule Castle - The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
> 18. The Firefly Labs - The Last of Us
> 19. Impact Crater - Metroid Prime
> 20. Feral Reserve Bank - Conker's Bad Fur Day
My two favourites are the fist fight with Ocelot in MGS4 and Octavio in Splatoon 1. They're just pure fun for me.
Cradle was shit and why the fuck are neither bayonetta games listed.
Too problematic
Ace Combat 0
Cave Story
PMD: Explorers
insomnia
Needs Persona 4 or Dark Souls, replace BOTW because it was shit
The game was shit but hyrule Castle was pretty cool
Or maybe it just seems cool in comparison to how trash everything else was.
wow there are some poor choices here, I did like the suicide mission in ME2 until the stupid ass boss though
For as much as it was just a gloried set piece, the Microwave Hallway in MGS4 fucked me up. The last bit of Rando Land in LISA the Painful is pretty fucking good
It was cool because it was the only dungeon in the game, and we desperately have needed traditional dungeons on a grand scale like the open world was.
Witcher 1
the final level in DDS2 was the sun. how could you possibly forget that? the EGG facility was like the third to last level, and it sucked balls even though it was aesthetic as fuck with all the tentacles

For me it's Ace Combat 5. Mission 27 and 27+ are peak AC kino.
>Singing Journey Home
>Good radio banter
>That tunnel runs with Bartlett
>Heartwarming moment with your squad if you do well enough on 27+
>One of the best tracks in AC history playing when shooting down the SOLG
This
Any list that doesn't have an Ace Combat game or Elite Beat Agents is wrong.
Ace Combat Zero
>
Game was pretty mediocre and you know how it ends, but you didn't know it was going to end like this.
youtube.com
never ever
Firefly lab was boring as sin
Top it. I double dog dare you.
I thought Ace Combat was just a dogfighting game, but this looks and sounds amazing. Is it all like this?
You need to play it immediately. It emulates very well

The three PS2 games are almost perfect. Fun gameplay, cheesy plots, super dramatic dialogue, amazing soundtracks. They still hold up really well
>ME2
>Having good anything
ME1 had a pretty sick final segment.
>No PS2
>Computer too shit to emulate them
This is bullshit, Ace Combat 4 is the only fucking PS2 game my PC has trouble emulating
I want to experience AC too, it's not fair
The last section of Inside blew my mind. What a ride.
Just get a PS2. They're stupid cheap.
Does the beach arena count in the bloodborne dlc?
Have you tried emulating AC5 and Zero? Ace Combat 4's engine is notoriously unoptimized for emulating, AC5 and Zero fare much better
You know, I have a fairly low opinion of FF8 (until XIII and XV came along and made it look like solid gold in comparison), but I seriously agree with this. Ultimecia's castle was a pretty damn cool place with a cool aesthetic and lots of optional quirks to it.
>He doesn't know it's a melodrama flight opera
Not yet, but I'm really fucking autistic when it comes to playing games in order, not even memeing, it might be undiagnosed aspergers or something
You do know it's an anthology series right? None of the games (directly) relate to each other, they're all self-contained
While I agree the historical society is awesome its not the final level.
When they say Dragonslayer are they talking about fighting Alduin in Sovngarde? Because that's legit one of the worst final levels and bosses I can think of. Also, Kiln is certainly a very cool looking area when you first get to it but I can't really consider it a final level.
PS2's are like 5 dollars at my local pawnshop here in Texas.
Yes I do, but I get physically uncomfortable playing games out of order
Of release, that is
Im sort of the sameway
>Hate the witcher 1s combat system a fuck ton
>Really wanna play Witcher 3 but wont till I play first 2
>Probably never will
Ah well.
>cheesy plots
I hate this meme, only 5 was cheesy, 4 and Zero were pure kino
alright buddy
Eggmanland sonic unleashed will always be the most kino final level because its something eggman has talked about doing since sonic adventure 1 and to see it actually literally happen...k-i-n-o
A lot of my favorites have already been mentioned, so i'll just say one that hasn't: "Destroy the Internecine' from Armored Core Last Raven.
xv is better tho
they came out with 15?
XV is a garbage game that amounts to nothing more than a mountain of wasted potential, but it has one of the greatest endings in gaming history.
level 8-4 of Mario bros is fucking annoying and only included for """"gamer cred""" along with these 2 laughable ones
>ganons tower
>cradle
undisputed GOAT fight me
Some of my favorites
Meat Circus - Psychonauts
Sea of Black Tears/Abomination Overdrive - Brutal Legend
The Tazal Terminals- Bastion
Sekto Springs Dam - Oddworld: Strangers Wrath
Dead City- Metro Exodus
Insomnia- Final Fantasy XV
New Years Eve- YIIK: A Postmodern RPG
Now keep in mind I don't think that last one is a good game, but I thought some of the stuff on the last level was kinda cool.
also ace combat 4s final mission because you're the return of jesus saving the world from a global meteor shower apocalypse
SMT4 Apocalypse. The final dungeon itself was annoying but everything leading up to YHVH and the fight itself was god-tier.
Ace Combat has basically mastered climactic moments. Going under the space elevator and flying up from inside towards the deep blue sky was a great end to 7.
