any beginners? I just got done playing my first set of 10 or 11 matches in the game. I really love it but I can't help but think I started too late, a lot of more experienced players out there. I have experience from other fighting games so I can at least get a couple of wins with just basic shit.

Also, is there any opportunity French Bread will get more funding given how many entrants the game has for EVO?

Not yet, pretty sure I'll be able to get at least two days off but I haven't made up my mind if I want to stay for finals day or not since I'd only be watching Tekken anyways.

That's a really hard read on the part of the Yuzu player though. Aside from Icy, it is incredibly uncommon to start mashing dodge after a 236B.

Teleport I'm not too sure since I don't know how Yuzu's hitbox works during the animation. B/C teleport yes you'd probably lose, but A teleport should get caught in the hitbox of Akatsuki's 66C. Again, Icy is a special case in that he spams teleports relentlessly. If you look at Kure and Tari they both use it more sparingly since it's far more reactable offline and puts you right next to the opponent while in stance, greatly limiting your options

It's never too late to start!

That being said, it looks like tonight's PS lobby is full of heavy hitters (with an intermediate player like myself being on the shelf).

I blame a lot of Cold Steel's problems on lack of planning. I still loved Ys VIII a lot and Kondo claimed they realized how badly they fucked up making Sen, so I'm optimistic about the next arc.

maybe it's because my character has slow buttons but I find punishing raw teleport almost impossible when yuzu is mashing dodge afterwards.

Non-TK raw teleport is definitely punishable on reaction without the netplay delay. All of her non-boosted teleports have a weird delay where you can't input anything for a split second (stuff like 6C and 236A, not sure about dodge because raw teleport into dodge is retarded).

Reminder that dodge loses to throw too. Less known is the fact that dodge loses to multi-hitting moves like Vatista's j.C, since even a successful dodge has a tiny bit of recovery

It's weird since I've seen other multi-hit moves go clean through her by a dodge, guess you need some serious active frames on said moves like aforementioned ball.

Yeah, iirc in an interview they realized that making sen a 4 game arc was a result of bad planning and that it also stopped them from developing a lot of the cast properly, so they want to take their time with the next arcs so that they're only two games long for sure. I can think of a lot of things in Cold Steel that would have been better if they'd had more time. I'm especially hopeful because I know when they do well they make games like Ao, which I finished not long ago

PC lobbies have become frequent after the EVO announcement so you can't go wrong with either. PC probably has more beginners in comparison though.

Some multihit moves are slow enough to dodge through, others like most or all of Vat's have too many hits, Yuzu actually needs to dodge into VO to avoid getting bopped.

5B > 5C > 3C > 6[C] > 2B > 2C > jB > jC > jCC > 236AAA
Apparently 5B is a way fucking better starter since that above does around 3k off of havoc while the same combo started with 2B only comes up to like high 2k.
Also I forget which mission mode it is but do try and learn his corner combo with both 623A/B

6B is your best button but also a leading cause of death since whiffing that might as well mean you die
Aside from that, mission mode is generally helpful and tutorial is a must if you haven't already.

Usually I try to start blockstring with running in and 5AA/2AA/5A2A and then work my way from there into either 2B5C or 2B2C or 5C2C or 5C[C] or 214BC/214BA with a TK kuuga thrown in afterword.

To add on to this. Hyde was the last character I picked to try out and his moveset interested me greatly with all those fireball follow-ups and a groundflame.
Then I went through arcade mode with my first main, got to stage 10, and AI Hyde kicked my ass with delayed rekkas and I was in awe.

Good question. It's strong enough to eat EX TK Kuuga so I personally don't see it, but maybe multiple physical hits are a different story.

depending on the timing, It's possible. What usually happens is I don't hit you but the guardpoints still eat the attack.

I dunno about you, but so far tonight 95% of my combos have resulted from just 1 BnB on Linne.

If I'd been more confident with Hien/TK Kuuga setups, I would've busted those out more often for sure tonight and in general. Know that you're not the only one relying on some one trick pony moves for combos at least.

Like half at the moment. I'm at the intermediate character missions, but I go full spaghetti drop mode when I get thrown into the thick of it.

I don't doubt it. Though I think the important part is asking a good constructive question about scenarios that i can drill. Just going "how to Orie?" will probably only get me a "do optimal combos and block everything" as a response.

I never see you use her 22 move. Maybe make an effort to use it more.

I feel like I use 22c to cheat my way out of neutral interactions a fair amount, but I should find better uses for the other 2. I don't think I've ever actually hit some with the a version.

There is no cheating. Take all the advantages you can get since your opponent sure as shit will. Do whatever it takes to keep the match going in your favor.
