Holy fuck, I'm sorry your threads keep disappearing but maybe you'd have more luck if you stopped broadcasting your LP to us and focused on playing

Are you ok?

Yeah god forbid different bosses have different strategies.

I bet you hated Midir too.

It's literally the only boss that has to be fought that way in the entire game.

Not OP but Midir was legitimately busted. No fun at all.

So?

>can still parry every attack
>it's just not worth it to parry every attack that is related to fire
Hardest part was running at the right angle from the skulls because of their near-precise tracking.

this, fucking babies

Why bother setting up every boss to be a tutorial of a move, which then leads to you using all those moves (Genichiro, Owl etc.) only to shit on all that for one boss?

Just lure him off the edge.

>Can parry every single attack
>Can use and abuse the phoenix umbrella
>Can jump over his charge
>Can even pull a Gas Coin on him
>BUT MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM THIS BIG BAD BOSS IS TOO DIFFERENT, I CAN'T JUST REFLECT LIGHTNING AND PARRY AS OFTEN AS THE OTHERS
Typical Yea Forums
>the skulls
They're spirit emblems.

Ok whatever nerd I didn't have timer to examine them as they were zooming right for my face

Hit the right leg, use flame tempered umbrella when needed: The fight

I was so intimidated when I first went into this fight, took me fewer attempts than lady butterfly lmfao

>skulls
The burning cookie men?

Some of his fire attacks are worth deflecting since he gets staggered to hell like the overhead slam. Also phoenix umbrella just tells this boss to go fuck himself

why not? You act like it's automatically a bad thing

You take a lot of chip damage though so I never went for them, don't even want to think about them now that I got rid of kuro's charm

It's not bad. It's just a shit fight because now I have to fight the boring bloodborne way.

AHAHA get it Ausra - Shura HAHA rage hand ahah

Jej

It's such a boring fight.

Midir is one of the best bosses in the entire franchise. Most players don't understand that you're supposed to space yourself properly and take advantage of the giant arena, rather than doing the roll spam + asshugging tactic of other bosses. Then it becomes a matter of knowing how to deal with his attacks (all of which have a foolproof way of not taking damage) and punishing accordingly.

Unfortunately with Dark Souls 3, as much as I like its bosses, it kind of conditions the player into thinking that if they die, it's because they didn't roll at the right time. Not because they were doing the wrong strategy. So learning that you're fighting Midir wrong can take a long time, assuming it happens at all.

Like many Soulsborne/Sekiro bosses, the boss himself is the tutorial. You have to learn what works and what doesn't. That design philosophy has been called "trial and error" but frankly I have no problem with it. If anything I think most players are disappointed when they beat a boss first try. Keep in mind Demon of Hatred is the "secret boss", not the final boss. If he was another test of your parrying/mikiri/lightning/etc reactions, he would undercut Isshin or vice versa. Rather than having another parry fight, they crafted a boss that would still work within the game's mechanics but feel different from other bosses.

And the size of the arena generally signposts what the game expects from you. It's the largest in the whole game, so you have a ton of space to run around in. Looking at his attacks, you'll notice that his medium range combos have a fairly lengthy recovery, giving you more than enough time to run in and wack away. Several of his attacks also allow you to grapple straight towards him. It's clear the fight was designed around keeping a medium distance and weaving in and out in accordance with the boss's attacks. Just like Midir. But unlike Midir, Demon of Hatred doesn't punish you anywhere near as hard for hugging him.

>It's literally the only boss that has to be fought that way in the entire game.

Demon of Hatred is just a mix of Gyobu and Ape phase 1, its still intuitive with the game mechanics but lets you use the run function more and combat grapple more

the camera up close for this fight is fucking cancer desu

I love reading the salty comments of deflectards
>b-but I wanted to pwess L1 to win and feel like a big boy

Just use a red gourd and parry everything normally, are you people really this stupid?

One thing beating this game teaches you: no one hates a boss they’ve beaten. Once you’ve beaten a boss you will always have their memory imprinted in you and in that moment you love them and know them and you truly understand why they call it Sekino.

No health sponge boss will ever top Midir.

Midir is easily the most forgettable dragon boss in any of the games, why they made him so bland or easy is anybody's guess.

>ok so here are boss fights that largely rely on pressure and parrying their attacks
>"This game is boring every fight is the same"
>ok fine then here are some bosses you fight differently
>"The fuck kind of shitty game design is this that wants me to unlearn everything else in the game?"
Don't really get people like this. You aren't unlearning anything. Rather, you should be learning how to adjust to different tactics depending on the situation.

Did you ever beat the poison dragon in DS2? This boss fight is like that one.
