What went wrong?
What went wrong?
PS4 best selling console of 2018
Ok, now you can answer my question?
Fighting games are a niche genre. Its an exclusive title. Its not smash.
Lack of updates
Gets old after a short while
No story/single player/etc. It's just a mindless fighter with random characters.
It just came and went like a fart.
Not enough content
New Nintendo IP
$60 on release and it’s never going on sale or getting discounted
Nothing, it's a great game and I still enjoy it
Do you guys think this game came as Punch Out it would sell better? Good graphics and the game runs 1080p60fps in 1 player docked
Now that you mention it, if it was called "Punch-out 3000" or something like that I would have been more interested.
That really shouldn't be why you buy games
Nothing. Game did well for a fighting game and was pretty fun and solid. Plus its still funny to see people like you keep making bait threads about it 2 years after release.
Not enough gay porn sadly.
C'mon man, it's basically a new spin on punch-out
Both of these really
It was a much harder sell of a new IP than splatoon and it almost seems like they wanted the game to fail.
Splatoon came with a proper singleplayer mode with stages and bosses. They had splatfests for two years, added tons of weapons, and new maps that kept the fanbase alive while constantly attracting new players and they had like four free weekends.
Compare that to adding like 5 characters total each with one stage and nothing else with the only "event" being nothing but play as a certain character day to earn a badge and I think only two free weekends. They pulled out all the stops for Splatoon to be successful but left ARMS out to dry hardcore in comparison.
It's a shame I really enjoy the game but there's just not enough reason to keep playing unless my friends are over and even then smash is out now.
lola pop still best girl though
Sure, but they brand name they put on it shouldn't matter. What should matter is if the game is good. You can say that the masses aren't smart enough to handle that, but as an individual you should strive to be better
I guess...
This is not a bait thread, I was expecting the game to make a success similar to Splatoon
considering that both were Nintendo EAD experimental IPs
It's a bad game.
Nintendo shills trying so hard to meme this game into popularity but the game itself just a shallow tech demo.
They have a lot more one off IPs than not. It's rare to get a huge hit out of something new, even for the biggest players.
I loved the concept but it felt too slow/defensive to be fun.
It's not fun because despite the 45 or some odd hands, they don't play particularly differently. It's not competitive enough to be played by tryhards, and it's not random enough to be played by shitters.
Never played the game but I'm mostly guessing
>Lack of modes
>Lack of single player content
>Lack of multiplayer content
>Took too long to "fully complete" the game
With sploon, the free updates are costumes and guns. With arms, it's whole characters and weapons that barely change the formula. Once you play a few matches you played the entire game. The paid online killed it further
No solo content, and launched what, 2 weeks before Splatoon 2? Should have at least spaced them out a bit more, I would have stuck with it a big longer at least.
Didn't this game sold 2 millions ? More than Xenoblade or Donkey Kong. Why is this treated like a failure ?
