I think the closest they've gotten was that one guy that made Red Alert 2 VR. It's definitely an angle they should pursue, though. Something like Black and White where it's actually your hand would be sweet.

I would spend forever as a kid torturing the villagers, burning their homes, forcing mothers to watch their children devoured in front of them but I never hit my creature. I was always nice to him.
