So is it recommend to just pick up 1-2 chests then rush the teleporter until stage 3-4? I'm playing with friends and we always end up clearing 90% of the map before touching the teleporter and consistently dying around stage 5-8

I do 2-3 solo so I get enough money during the tele fight to blow on shrines. This is easier on Monsoon when enemies are more plentiful.

With friends I'd do at least 3. The game spawns like 6 chests per player or some shit

Rush 1 2 3, farm on 4. Take your time after the first cycle but still don't be in positions where you have money but no chests after the boss.

It was a boss right? If it was a Greater Wisp or something those don't count, it also could be that you need to deal the killing blow.

Deicide requires that you kill a boss type (Titan, Queen, Worm, Imp, Dunestrider, Vagrant) who is elite and is spawned by the tele. So a boss that spawns naturally due to increasing difficulty level doesn't count, and a tele fight that's just a bunch of elite monsters (e.g. Greater Wisps, Golems, whatever) doesn't count either.

Gasoline is like a lesser will o wisp. Arguably, its better then Wisp because it happens more often and makes you unstoppable in a crowd past 3-5 stacks. Will O Wisp is rare cause its a green, while gasoline is a white so its way more common.

Is there something wrong with that? I always play on multiplayer in case a friend wants to join my game later. Pretty sure nothing changes at all if you start a game by yourself on multiplayer.

Teleport, glaive bouncing, arrow rain is neat compared to most other Rs. The auto aim attack is meh but its pretty useful when you get super fast and can just sprint auto fire constantly. It would feel better to play her if she could sprint in any direction, but I think going any direction but forward should come with movespeed penalties to compensate for being able to fire while sprinting away from enemies

There's a mod to allow her to sprint in all directions I think.

Merc's R being a death sentence in certain spots feels kind of shitty. Can't think of any ways to tweak it because it's already really powerful with mobility + invincibility + damage, but the way enemies track you through it even though you're ostensibly an imperceptible army of afterimages, it's kind of annoying.

Reset is way too strong, but maybe a second, or 1.5 seconds of invuln after is a pretty good idea. As it is it effectively shares a cooldown with your dash whenever elder lemurians or bells are on screen, which is dumb.

You need to be very tanky to survive hits, its better to just not be hit and be op at that point in the game. If you really need to tank it mult can get away with it as long as you have good healing, other classes probably have to have many infusions and/or transcendences

Honestly I find artificier to be better on monsoon than rainstorm/drizzle. Her ice wall's instakill actually matters vs threats like elder lemurians and elite golems here, and her high spell base damage helps carry through the early game. With someone like Commando, sure they're far better late game, but it's way harder to get there since commando needs a combination of lots of damage and mobility while artificier just needs mobility to make it through the first loop.
Still feel she needs something for the late game though, even if it's just a longer flamethrower range.

Commando needs slight buffs, and his invul on dodge roll. Artificer basically needs a rework. Her ice wall is straight up trash, her flamethrower is a suicide button past stage 3, her fireballs just don't work well because they're on a stocked cooldown, and she has massive problems because most items straight up suck for her, and items are what do everything in RoR. Her only good skill is her M2. Oh, and she has shit HP to top it all off with.

Merc just really needs some QoL buffs in general so he stops dying on contact with late game enemies, and some bug fixes.

transcendence is in a worse place imo
brittle crown has use in the early game, and in the lategame it's decent if you build around it with a crowdfunder. crowdfunder is great considering that it lets you proc off of it's attacks, but it's only good once you have a fuckton of items, and the other use items are just as good without having to work around them while also benefiting from fuel cells.

there needs to be some kind of bonus that crowdfunder gets from fuel cells desu

Transcendence is great as long as you have a teammate to give healing items to. 50% higher max health is enough to get you out of a lot of situations that would've otherwise killed you. Sure a 100% crit 5 scythe build with antlers is going to heal like crazy, but it's also far more likely to die from burst damage than someone with two transcendences.

There are ways for you to deal a bazillion hits per second.
If that's the case, you'll start getting a shitload of money before your first kill, dramatically accelerating the process of opening chests.
And after some point, getting hit generally kills you anyway.

All Commando really needs is some buffs for his skills, he scales with items fantastically but he has possibly the slowest start out of all of the cast because his skills are trash.

Doing it before is usually wasting time. It's faster to open all the chests when there isn't shit attacking you, and by then you should have enough movement speed that backtracking to the other end of the map takes like 5 seconds.

Is there any shame in playing rainstorm over monsoon? I feel like things take too long on monsoon to kill, and until glass and other artifacts are put in the game by default without using mods, monsoon feels too hard unless you get really lucky with reds like daggers and coils

Yeah how quickly the damage spongeyness ramps up in monsoon makes it feel like you really need to stack offense as soon as humanly possible or you're just fucked. The more time you spend killing enemies the more time the game has to ramp up so it's really easy to just end up in a shit spiral from even mediocre RNG.

why is that?

Save your dashes when they start to get at about 20% health so you can get out of the clusterfuck because thats what will really get you killed since all the enemies bundled up are still flinging attacks. The two dashes minimum you'll get in that situation should be enough to get you out and your R and spins give you more forward momentum if you need it. Don't be afraid to use them to move around because staying alive is worth more than the couple seconds of cooldown.

It does the 'roll pots on the ground' attack when it's standing up tall. It does the 'spit them directly at you from the spout' attack when it's not, so if you're in its face while its on the ground you also might die.

Damage values are adjusted if I'm not literally insane, it's common for me to die to a boss on stage 1 if I try to do it with no items whereas it's almost never a problem on rainstorm

Nothing is changed except the speed you go through difficulty chunks. Monsoon is 2:30 per, rainstorm 3:30, drizzle is 7:00. A stone titan at the start will have 2100 hp, but after the first chunk it will go to 2720 or so.

Yeah, it's good since it benefits from attack speed and onhits. It's a great mid-game damage item for when you can't melt everything yet. It's sad though that it doesn't benefit from fuel cells, but in multiplayer that just means you can feed more to MUL-T.

My hopes are all on loader. I didn't play him much in RoR1, but damn he seems like he'd be so much fun to play in this assuming his grapple could get a low cooldown. Like maybe if its cooldown would go down for every punch you land. It just seems so fun to grapple from enemy to enemy smacking their faces in.
