Nu-AVGN is a caricature of his past self, the humor is hamfisted, the comparisons are more and more detached from the review itself. The Nerd of the past was angry, but subdued, generally more relaxed and bored as opposed to the tense and "comically" aggressive nu-AVGN. And you would never have pseudo-breaking the character with a sudden bout of calmness and informativeness before getting furious again immediately after.
