Nigga I beat the game literally the day before it came out, all I did on release day was browse Yea Forums, but I can't fathom how people actually had trouble with him. It's like dying to Iudex in ds3.

I have no clue how those people who got flown out to play Sekiro had trouble with the chained ogre. You can just whiff punish his giant slow attacks insanely easily because of how fast you are.
Also, that shinobi hunter was even more fucking pathetic. I got bored and dropped the game once you find Owl at that burning temple or whatever.

Lady Butterfly can be cheesed by spamming Nightjar Slash. Her lack of super armor forces her to block every attack you throw at her. When encountered with a heavy attack that's spammed over and over, she tries to jump back, but you can interrupt that same jump animation by-you gussed it-spamming attack some more. It's quite pathetic, really.

Even speedrunners don't fight Chained Ogre "correctly." It's a shitty mini-boss that you have to play against like its Dark Souls.

The only way to consistently beat Chained Ogre without taking damage is to straight up RUN from his attacks and then attack him in between attacks. When he does his grab attacks, you can't sidehop because he will vacuum you into his grab half the time, and it isn't even worth it to deflect his attacks because he takes virtually no posture damage from deflections and your character is stuck in that "I deflected a heavy attack" staggered animation.

so you didnt fight lady butterfly? i found her pretty fucking tough, she's fast as fuck so its hard to find openings. but by the time i beat her i actually understood how combat flows in the game, whereas before i was playing it kinda souls-like
