I would say that to conceptualize a new drug pipeline takes more intelligence and information than creativity. Not saying it doesn't take creativity or that something creative doesn't benefit from information of the world around you and the intelligence it takes to put that into art but more so you cannot hope to do such a thing without the right intelligence with some out of the box thinking.

Of course creatives don't have as much competition compared to the common jobs but this ignores the variables like the ability to put out different content and think of something new each time instead of doing the same old song and dance that blue collar jobs tend to put you in. Instead of being the best cog in the machine you have to compete without knowing exactly what it is you need to do. This doesn't mean the same old song and dance doesn't work for youtube but when I talk about this I think of the high quality video makers and also filmmakers.
