>Hello Yea Forums. I've been a Vicarious Visions Employee for around 6 or 7 years now and I have a "leak" to share with you regarding the next main line Crash Bandicoot game. First of all. Planning stated after the Future Tense DLC was released for N.Sane Trilogy. There were alot of ideas being thrown around but we finally found one and stuck with it. Actual work didn't start on this mew game until December. Right now it's about 50% complete and we are hoping to have it out by next Spring. Now some information about the game itself. The whole goal is to make a new Crash Bandicoot game that fits in nicely amongst the original 3 games in not only gameplay. But musically and graphically aswell. The game is currently known as Crash Bandicoot 4 around the office. We want to make the proper 4th entry that fans never really got. I know Wrath of Cortex exists. And not saying ita a bad game. But alot of fans were disappointed. This game will hopefully fix that games wrongs. They're was however a few ideas in that game that may find their way into this new game. We shall see. But this game will be a direct follow upnto Warped. Many of the ideas inteoduced in that game will make a return.

Like insaid the game is only 50% complete things could change. One of the stages takes place in a kitchen. With hot burners,knives and a giant mixer. Theyre will be vehicle/animal riding stages just like the first 3 games. Crash has a new spin that if you use it too much in succession he'll get dizzy and pull out a barf bag. There will be poison wompa fruit to watch out for. Cortex will not be the villian but will be in the game. Last but not least aku aku masks will be different. Rather than immediately getting invincibility from ot once you find the 3rd one. You'll be able to hold on to it a d decide on your own when to activate it rather than it happening automatically.

Time trials in Crash aren't about "getting gud". It's just memorization and timing

That's the example my old man gave me for learning stick instead of automatic when I had to get my license.
Essentially the longer you do something the further back in your memory it goes. At a certain point its a long term memory and developed skill so your brain saves that information and locks it away until it comes up.
It only really starts decaying when you get real fucking old(like 70's-80's) depending on how often you did it before stopping. When you pick up a thing again after that extended period of time then its kind of like your brain will do a search function to find what that skill was and open it. In that period of searching you'll be struggling, then the file opens and BOOM it's like you never stopped doing that thing.
Of course reaction time deteriorates as you age(to an extent) so for fine movements you might not get back up to snuff but your brain will be telling you what to do.

I went back and played it again recently, and besides being fun to fuck around with multiplayer it really wasn't very good.

Some of the Relic challenges are absolute bullshit, the AI is ramped up to fucking 11 and every step they take is made to fuck you in the ass. Do it co-op or forget it
Would be hilarious and yes, like anything else reaction time is a skill, the more you use it the more consistent you get at it and until a certain barrier is reached(your physical ability) you improve. Additionally you slow it down even further if you play a multitude of genres due to the reaction time being focused on different thought processes.
Dodging in DMC, NG, From(Even here the process is slightly different but in a similar stream of thought) games are all very different to say playing a racing game.
The thought process is innately different. The more genres you play the slower reaction time deteriorates.

Remember what I said about it being a skill? That's why, if you just do something without much care for it your brain only treats it as short term memory. They play the game, shit out a review and drop it. They treat it like its some tedious effect so their brain is treating what they learn as unimportant information and when they turn off the game the brain deletes that information. It's why journos can't use controllers why they can't think, why something with a strong focus on rote learning like From's games(which in and of themselves are in a stream where if you learn one game's basic principles you're at a massive advantage for their other titles since they follow the same basic principle of learning through mistakes and more to the point that that learning is heavily inferred to be related to assumptions made on prior experience) we can gleam this on how Soulsborne players are wondering why X boss in Sekiro was easy for them while others were struggling.
There's a few more factors involved too like what kind of lessons people take from learning the games that determines what kind of skills they develop more strongly than others.
It's all quite interesting to look into.
