Johnny is just boring. I mean, there was a point where I watched his videos, but he's just not very funny or clever or charismatic or anything. And like others have said, he has the most basic, inoffensive opinions ever. He'll always have fans though, most of his core audience will never leave.

Been watching johnny since they were the SGB, he's completely tuned out my dude. Just look at his LGPLGE video, the guy just isn't trying anymore.

For comparison I'd rather watch fucking Clemps than Johnny because Johnny's reviews both stopped being in-depth and informative, and became all the more shite and vloggy.

Johnny benefits from being safe because it means that his opinions can inform more people in trying out a game. if he were more controversial his reviews would be seen as having a unique perspective which isn't always a good thing when your videos serve to tell people en masse "should I try this out"
Johnny generally tries to consider how different people play games in his reviews and abstains from number scores for the exact reason that you can't make a game for literally everyone.
You won't get deep critical analysis from him and I think that's fine.

Clemps is pretty good. Kinda like Caddicarus I always get the impression that he's trying way too hard with the humor though. And Clemps is also one of those" hey this is just my opinion, don't get so upset that this is my opinion, because it's my opinion guys" kinda people.
Still like him but he does make me narrow my eyes dangerously at times

I like clemps because he actually puts in effort and passion into his work. I hate when he goes on about "THIS IS JUST MUH OPINION BY THE WAY" and think his comedy is fucking terribly cringey most times, but I respect his work ethic.
Even for something as shit as 358/2 days he talks about it with legitimate interest even if it frustrates and annoys him. Johnny just always as this exasperated tone like he can't even bothered to FEEL angry or annoyed at something.

the real dealbreaker was that everyone under the youtube sun that was tangibly associated with Kingdom Hearts 3 wasn't afraid to say that 3 was a disappointment. EXCEPT for Johnny who might as well have been cut a check from Square Enix for how much he astro turfed it.

I love Johnny but man, his opinion can sometimes be hard to figure out. Almost every game he reviews he talks like he hates it, even though it's hardly the case.
My favorite SomecallmeJohnny videos are the ones where he talks about his experiences with a game (like Terraria or Dark Souls), those reviews are god-tier.

Nigga he says the Xehanort twist is shit, he complains about no FF characters just like you are right now and he even says that KH2 is still the superior game, all he says is that KH3 on it's own has some strengths but he's not sucking the games dick like you're making him out to be.
