no, these aren't official mod tools unfortunately. Looks like all we're really getting is the ability to make our own quests and areas.

Mechanics can be altered through ini, as there are tons of mods on Nexus that have done this

As for animations, I really don't know if there's a way to import custom anims like you can with Skyrim (which also took custom rigging)

If someone genius autist had the time to deconstruct everything, sure, but as is, Witcher 3 will still be relatively gimped.

You might as well play Skyrim at that point. Witcher 3 is tied to the main character in the same way GTA: San Andreas is tied to CJ

Now that I think about it, it COULD be possible to tell a different story if it's an overhaul mod that overwrites your Geralt skin and teleports you to a new area that you consider your separate island and then write for your character in question

if you can't make the connection there is no fucking hope for you

These aren't official tools and making tools this decent (and yes, for a fan made mod, they're pretty decent looking tools) takes time

And if a game engine actively discourages modding like Unity engine games (not saying Witcher 3 does), it can be near impossible

Witcher 3 has a story that instead wastes your time more than combat. Skyrim storyline is fast and simple, it doesn't stop you from the gameplay.
But gameplay itself is bad in both.

Nexus limits 1mb/s on all files you download. Try downloading 4 big files at the same time. They will be each downloading with the speed of 250kb/s.

You need to pay them money for their privileged subscription in order to go past the limit.

If you accidentally download in mod organizer anything (which doesn't have download queues) more than 2 files at the same time, one of them might download in broken archive (because that's what happens to files when their download speed instantly drops). Same goes about downloading in browser.

Also don't forget how shit NMM and Vortex were, pure garbage in terms of support and loads of crashes.
