Apparently the guy who ran Interplay always got it bankrupted on so many times. When they announced that a new Clayfighter game was in the works, it was more of radio silence til someone in a thread came out and spoke about what was going on.
The people working on it want it to be more of a love letter too the fans of the games. But the guy running Interplay just wanted it to be rushed out in a broken mess as a cheap cash grab.
There was some leaked footage of the game looking pretty decent of reusing the 63 1/3rd sprites for testing. Nothing has came ever sense and it's pretty much dead.
