Crash, both the originals and the remake

Spyro

Crash

Spyro

Crash

Spyro 1 and 2 > Crash > Spyro 3

Spyro for the adventure. Crash for the platforming.
Music I'd have to give to Spyro since the collection has both the original and new versions and I love Copeland's work on it.

I dunno, Crash has pretty amazing music, and while I wish we could switch between soundtracks, both soundtracks are amazing so it's forgiveable.

What's wrong with Spyro 3?

It's unfinished.

Crash 1 awesome
Crash 2 cool
Crash 3 meh
Spyro 1 cool
Spyro 2 meh
Spyro 3 meh
so i'd say crash. maybe if spyro 3 didnt have so many gimmicks

Assuming we're going by the remakes:
Crash 2 > Crash 1 > Spyro 1 > Crash 3 > Spyro 2 = Spyro 3

i am waiting for it to go on sale.

Critters

Crash

Spyro was/is for babies, everybody except babies could/can enjoy Crash

Spyro 2 > Crash 2 > Spyro > Crash > Crash 3 > Spyro 3

Spyro hypnotized me as a kid because of the colors + collecteing weird colorful creatures, but now I find Crash more replayable and entertaining overall.

Spyro's God Tier Copeland Soundtracks > CTR > Crash 2 > Spyro 2 > Warped > Spyro 1 > Spyro 3 > Crash 1

For a game about exploration and large sprawling levels, Spyro doesn't have very good secrets and collectibles compared to Crash's linear platformer games.

Outsourced to poo in the loos, model pop in/pop out out the wazoo

Wow I haven't seen opinion this wrong since my sister told me I should stop raping her. I will fucking plow my rod into your ass hole while holding you down until you change everything about your life and your reorder that list you mashed potato brained furry manlet.

>hey guys, i'm fitting in! right?

I've always preferred Crash, but oddly enough I have always felt that Crash needed some depth, in level design, character development and lore.

Crash Bandicoot is damn shallow, but I dearly love what is there.

That's a surprise for me having played only 3 in my childhood

Cortex's character develops pretty well in the main trilogy.

Attached: 522.jpg (467x662, 56K)

Crash's does not, and that ruins it for me. Why is he treated as a mere prop?

Are you actually 12?

Yeah, that kinda sucks. I don't like how the newer games portray him as a total retard, I prefer his characterization as a goofy loveable weirdo. The original games and NST never imply that he's full-on retarded.

That is 100% Crash Twinsanity's fault.

Yeah. I love Twinsanity, like, I love it a lot, but I was never a fan of how it portrayed Crash. He had a lot of funny scenes like the cutscenes that played before the skating levels and shit, but it really butchered his character.

Crash 2 > Spyro 1 > Spyro 2 > Crash 3 > Spyro 3 > Crash 1

Honestly it butchered both Crash and Cortex. I don't think the games should show the human characters too much and make them familiar like that. The thing that made Cortex great to me in the originals was that he was almost entirely shown from Crash's perspective.

no but r u? 8) 8) 8) post ur piccy

I liked Cortex in that game because it really capitalized on how much of a pathetic fuck he is.
Whenever you bring up Lex Lang you have people saying how he butchered Cortex in NST and that he was menacing in the original. I disagree. Cortex was never meant to be menacing. Ever since the first game Cortex has always been a narcissistic, snivelling prick who is not as clever or intelligent as he thinks he is. He is the engineer of his own defeat in all three games, and the only reason his plans get so close to working is because Crash is easily convinced and distracted.
He's especially a joke in Warped. Uka Uka makes a fool of him and Cortex becomes whiny and defeatist because he knows this entire plan is for nothing.

Spyro 3 is literally most fun remake, stop trying so hard to fit in, you faggots.

It always makes me happy to see my image getting shared around :')

Spyro doesn't have these.

Attached: electron.jpg (1488x837, 249K)

Reignited spyro 2 actually fucking sucks though

Attached: 1523327314420.png (300x300, 59K)

Why?

What spyro characters do you want in CTR, pham?

Elora and Bianca. Spyro can get cucked.

Attached: 1554663731815.jpg (120x120, 8K)

Sergeant Byrd. No one else.

*Ahem*

...

Spyro 2>Spyro 3>Spyro 1>Crash 2>Crash 1>Crash 3

Crash remaster was literally unplayable. I died like 20 times trying to get through the first level. Controls were totally and completely broken.

This and Hunter

t. Scrub
The physics aren't as good as the original but to claim they're broken enough to die 20 times on level 1? Git gud.

Spyro is superior in every way.
Especially the porn.
Even the joke porn.
Eat Freshâ„¢

I think the Spyro remake trilogy was better done (though including 0 cut content is bullshit). But in terms of OG games:
Crash 2 > Spyro 2 > Spyro 1 > Crash 1 > Crash 3 > Spyro 3.

Spyro remakes improved the gameplay more than the Crash remakes

Crash remakes improved vehicle controls (which I definitely appreciated), fixed the bullshit in 1, and added time trials and cut content/new content.
Spyro just added a better guidebook, extra feats, a gem detector and better flying controls. Far less imo.

However, Spyro lets you switch soundtracks, has much better load times and didn't fuck up the physics.

Honestly I don't see how Crash fucked up the physics either. I only noticed the heavier jumps in High Road, Slippery Climb/Stormy Ascent, and that one really hard bonus jump in 2.
I understand the complaints about the pill hitbox but the jumps never bothered me.

Crash remasters were done way better, with Spyro you can read the credits and see just how much was outsourced to cheap overseas labor that didn't give a shit, and it showed. Spyro Reignited has too many problems for anybody to count but Crash N. Sane only has two real problems: redone soundtrack doesn't have enough bass, and the fur renders are laid a bit too heavily.

We're talking about how well were the remasters done you moron.

Spyro 2 fucking sucks so it fit perfectly.

This is what happens when you try to play a remake entirely by the muscle memory of the original.

>those load times
>universal physics
>that hitbox
>done way better
kek

The loading times have been patched, each level now loads faster than the original levels did.
The physics aren't universal, they're still different across all three games.
Cry harder.

The fuck load times are you getting? PC version doesn't even give me enough time to read the hints and that's installed onto a shitty low tier wd blue.

>those load times
Fixed in PC.

>universal physics
>that hitbox
>done way better
Why don't you just admit you suck.

Spyro on PSX, Crash on PS4.

Spyro
Both of them have simplistic platforming, but it doesn't hurt Spyro because it's more about level design and exploration. Crash is challenging but there are only so many ways you can walk down a hallway before it becomes rote.

Played both and Crash jumped the shark way harder than Spyro in the third entry.
They both peak at 2 though.

And they are both great games but the original OST of spyro cant be beat

I think Crash 2 is miles better than the soundtracks of all the other games in question. The original anyway, the remake got too much weird synth.

Nah m8 you cant beat Stewart Copeland in his prime.
Especially spyro 1's original ost. Its just so good

I like the weird synth. The remade versions of Cortex's second fight, Snow Go, Turtle Woods, The Eel Deal, and Komodo Bros. are all great.

It's not bad but a lot of the submissions are frustrating and Byrd in particular is half-baked. Only one kn the trilogy I didn't bother going for 100% on.

It promotes white nationalism

Spyro easily. Crash has always been mediocre.

>Remade Eel Deal good
It sounds weak as shit. You can barely hear the pipe banging and its not as badass as the old pipes. They dont even sound like pipes being hit with a wrench. More like some religious bell instrument from a monk temple.

Attached: 1497719425048.png (1160x963, 846K)

It goes for a different vibe than the original. The original is gritty and loud to match the dank-ass dirty sewers. The new sewers are clean and shiny, so while the main pipes aren't as loud and banging, the other instruments and sounds are way better than the original.
I know it's not the same, but I really like both versions. The only song I think they truly screwed up in NST is Boulders.

Spyro 1>Spyro 2>Spyro 3>Crash shit>remastered garbage

Why did they even make the new sewers clean and shiny?
Sewers aren't supposed to be clean, especially not Cortex's sewers, even with the inefficient scrub bots.

In general, why did they clean all the dirty ruins and shit? Is it that difficult to make something look old and ruined or is it too scary looking for little Timmy?

Attached: Crash_Temple_Ruins.jpg (1024x573, 53K)

The ruins aren't that clean in the final version, that's footage from the trailer. I've been 100%ing NST and the ruins were made much more dirty, same with the boulder.

I didn't get around to hear it yet, but the death/gem route version of The Eel Deal (or sewer levels) has some of the most amazing marimba I've heard ever heard, and I'm dreading the disappointment from the remake.

Maybe, but it's still got this Pixar feel - gotta keep even creepy old ruins SLICK and SMOOTH.

youtube.com/watch?v=IoRYQEeI0c8
I feel it's an improvement personally.

You mean disney right?
Pixar goes the extra mile to make the world around characters more lived in and believably part of a much larger world.

Who here waiting for Crash NTR bundled with Crash and Spyro remake? I give it a year and they all come together for 60 bucks, i'll pick them up then. Unless they say they are going to remaster Sly Cooper, Jack and dexter, and all the other oldies. If that is the case i'll wait 5 years and get them all for 60 bucks together.

>remaster Sly Cooper
Not going to happen, no appeal.

>Jack and dexter
Not going to happen since its too hard and it was a product of its time

I'm still waiting for the PC release for Spyro trilogy.

I ain't waiting a year for a bundle pack when the games are available way before that.

I honestly don't get Jak... Crash is timeless (argue all you want about the intent, the result is timeless), why did they abandon it way too early?

Boob envy Coco.

Attached: 1554882070077.png (1033x1574, 1.99M)

Maybe moreso Disney, but neither are fitting for Crash.

Why do these threads always turn into waifu dump?

Hey, I'm not complaining. It keeps Crash threads alive.

Because other discussions are always about how soulless the new games are and complaining about minuscule details.

Attached: Capture.png (519x545, 317K)

We had a pretty awesome Twinsanity thread yesterday. I miss that thread.

More like it keeps crash threads stale, I hate it.

Then let's talk about A Hero's Tale since that's the Twinsanity of Spyro.

Oh, hey, I actually liked that game. That Gnasty Gnorc design was ugly but I liked most of the bosses.

I'm gonna say it

Reignited wasn't that bad

Reignited was damn good and the only things that were wrong with it were some worlds didn't look as cool. That's it.

Ripto.

Attached: ripto_vs_spyro_by_ityrane_d89vig6-fullview.jpg (1600x942, 195K)

Am I the only one who doesn't like Ripto? He wasn't very interesting or intimidating in 2.

dude nice necro lmao

It's okay, but rather floaty compared to tje original, and too much synth like the other tracks. Still like it, though.

What do you mean by too much synth?

When I get too much of a techno vibe, and by extension literally too much use of
very obvious synths. Sure, Crash 2's settings in particular warrant some of that, but it was pretty subtle, especially compared to the remake. Either that or I just find the remake synths too sterile, but how can I blame anyone for that but the present music industry as a whole.

I see. Are there any songs from 2 that you feel were improved in the remake?

Hang Eight is fantastic, a perfect remake in my book. Warp room theme and Turtle Woods are just as good as the originals. And then the rest of the OST always has something that rubs me the wrong way, whether it's the synths, modest or overcomplicated drums (huge pet peeve of mine), or getting a particular chord wrong (seems to be common, and NST is no exception).

i never understood why Ripto was the goto for most of Spyro's plots. Like in Enter the dragonfly he was the main antagonist, Spyro attack of the Rhynocs when he didn't have anything to do with them but at least season of Fire/Ice at least mixed it up by making an entirely new big bad even if it was just anothe rhynoc
