Why does nobody ever talk about Rayman

Rayman 1 is the best in the series with the most creative levels in the entire franchise but is dragged down by the frequent difficulty spikes and locking the final level/boss behind collectibles

Rayman 2 is divisive based almost entirely around which version of the game is the best

Rayman 3 is a fun albeit short follow up to 2

Origins returns to Rayman 1's gameplay but it is now faster and more frantic, and also has it's level themes inspired by Rayman 1

Legends is pretty much just an expansion of Origins

Ubisoft actually whipped and overworked the fuck out of the Origins/Legends team to port the game to all consoles (which wasn't the original plan) and when it still didn't sell well enough for them, they fired the whole team.

I know literally no one cares about it, but isn't revolution non-canon?
2 is the only real must play, any version should be fine, with the exception of the DS one which is missing levels.
Origins is the most similar to Legends and probably the best 2D one.
1 and 3 are very controversial, each for their own reason, 1 even Ancel never finished because of how hard the original was, you can find some ports which later scaled back the difficulty, but the original and complete experience is in the PS1 version.
Avoid all else.

Because Ubisoft doesn't make his games very often, Legends was release 5 years ago and we still have no news on a new game.

Should I go with Revolution for Rayman 2? It's on the PSN network.
And I still got Rayman 3 HD on XBLA when they were giving it away for free.

Platformers are dead. Only Nintendo cares anymore which is why I hate remakes. Publishers will remake Spyro and Crash Bandicoot for a quick nostalgia cash grab then go back to make triple A movie shit.

I'm not sure, it seems to be an expanded version of Rayman 2 but I don't know how different it is from the original to be called the same game, it shouldn't be too much, you could go for it, but I would personally suggest to play a vanilla Rayman 2 version before as I read this one includes ability upgrades and shit like that

Probably because it hasn't had a mainline game in over 5 years. Plus, I've hardly played Rayman myself (more of a Mega Man/Bomberman fan than Rayman). Only played Legends so far (well, I played Rayman DS a little, but that's just a crappy port of 2). Always wanted to try the other games.

What do you not like about Origins/Legends?
