>fuck off to vg
The deification of 3 on this board is ridiculous
Yes, we get it, it revolutionized the genre
5 is objectively better in every important way
3:SE>5>4SE>3>1=DmC:SE>4>2
Switch 4 with 1, getting to play as Vergil & Lady/Trish was awesome, Devil Bringer was cool as well
this
people can't put off their nostalgia goggles
DmC is not worse than DMC2, I'm sorry. DMC2 is plain unfun. DmC is fun, if overwrought with symbolism and a bit on the easy side.
I played 3 for the first time a week before 5 came put and I liked it better than 5.
5 was very good as well, but I just liked 3 better.
1 > 3 > the rest >>>>>>>>> 2
t. dude who never played 4 or 5 beyond the intro stage and in the middle of replaying 3
the only edge I can give 3 over 5 is maybe plot... for as much as that matters, variety of gameplay, if you miss puzzles between your combat rooms, at least 3 has a few combat rooms with special conditions, or a variety of environments which fair, destroyed cityscape and running inside a demon tree is bland after a while
But the core gameplay in 5 is just too good to be topped by 3
No, annoying bosses, annoying enemies, grey color pallete everywhere.
3 loses out for having shit bosses like this

After playing 5 3 feels stiff as fuck
DmC is not worse than 2.
This. OP is a bandwagon bitch.
5 > 3 = 4 > DmC = 1 > 2
WOOLIE
Same here. 5 was my first dmc game, then I played 3 and while I love 5 I think 3 is better.
5 >= 3 > 1 > 4 > 2
Take out the nostalgia glasses
3>4>2>DmC>1>5
DmC > 2 > 4 ^ 4 Mobile < 1 =/= 3 + 5
>t. bandwagoning contrarian
Your not a true dmc fan if you dont say 2 is the worst
only faggots think 2 is better than TamemeMayCry
I feel the same way.
I think 5 is better as a whole, considering that none of the enemies are as cancerous as some of the DMC3 enemies and Dante having style switching and 4 weapons and 4 guns on him, no to mention Nero and to a lesser extend V who are also playable.
But I don't think that DMC5 had the same peaks as DMC3.
Like the vergil fights and their build up and role in the story were perfect and while the music in DMC5 was really good, I don't think any of the DMC5 tracks measure up to the best DMC 3 tracks like devil never cry, Cerberus and the vergil fights.
I also thought the story was better.
Usually I don't value story too much in a game or atleast action games like DMC3, but the DMC3 finale together with the god-tier vergil 3 fight was gold.
What I am trying to say is that 5 is better on average, but it never quite reached the same peaks as DMC3.
Those peaks made me like DMC3 better, despite DMC5 never having the same lows like some of the shitty enemies or bosses lime Arkham.
>2 even being an option
I’d agree with most of that, but I think 5’s soundtrack is the best OST in the series.
3>1>DmC=4>Haven't played 5 because it looks like uninspired garbage
Oh DMC5 has very good OST for sure, but I do think the vergil fights, Devil never cry and the other themes that shares it's leitmotif are the best tracks in the franchise.

3>5>1>4>DmC>. Anyone putting 2 above anything is fucking insane.
5 will be better than 3 once it gets Ladies' Night and Vergil dlc.
1 is cool and probably deserves to be higher on the list. Dmc became something different though, and 3 and 5 execute that different thing to near perfection.
DmC definite edition is a better game than DMC2, DmC is still a mediocre game, but anything is better than DMC2
> is cool and probably deserves to be higher on the list
Yeah, 1 is basically what a true RE action game would be
2 is not better than DmC no matter how much hate it deserves
This user is completely correct. 5 is the best DMC but it doesn't invalidate 3SE.
5 >= 3SE > 1 = 4SE > 3 > 4 > DmC Definitive > 4 Refrain = 2 (as Trish) > DmC > 2 > 3 mobile
Anybody remember late 2017 when they announced that some literally who Chinese dev was doing a mobile-exclusive remake of 3? Is that still coming out?
1=3>5>4>2>DmC
This series is complete trash and I’m sick of faggots spamming up the board now they have a new gay old immortal men fighting each other game
3>5>DmC>4>1>2
>5 will be better than 3 once it gets Ladies' Night and Vergil dlc
At this point I don't know what 5's post-launch will be. The game has done extremely well by series standards but I get the feeling that it needed to do that and at best it has let more content be greenlit.
Itsuno already has a "New Project team" based on a recent tweet, so he's likely already started Dragon's Dogma 2. I think the DMC5 team can handle DLC without him at the helm, but I don't know if we can expect it to be both soon AND substantial, just one or the other.
Alternatively we may just get 5SE in mid-late 2020.
Anyone that outs 3 over 4 should be immediately disregarded
4 is half of a game that you play twice and then you do a boss rush anyway. Its mechanics were a step forward but unpolished (shit like Guard Flying and Distortion are literally bugs that they didn't remove), Nero felt like 75% of a complete moveset, and Dante had a smaller and worse arsenal than in 3 only made up for by having all of them available at once. 3 did better but just about every metric that it could've executed at the time it was made, and 5 took what 4 did and essentially completed it.
All 4(SE) has on 3 or 5 is sheer number of Playable characters (and I admit Trish is fun as fuck), Legendary Dark Knight mode, and Dante having access to Dark Slayer Style.
>Those peaks made me like DMC3 better, despite DMC5 never having the same lows like some of the shitty enemies or bosses lime Arkham.
I disagree, 5 has 4 V only missions, on balance they are even when it comes to lows.
>only made up for by having all of them available at once
and even that wasn't enough since Dante can't keep up with Nero's output wise unless he uses distortion.
Not to mention 80% of 4Dante's moveset is fucking trash
this, besides story(which is more focused in 3) everything else is better
What is Yea Forums thoughts on DMCV's ending i just beat the game and it felt so weird and rushed
I liked it, the ending and the "I'M NOT LETTING YOU DIE" part was really kino. In a way, you could see Nero's phone call to his wife as a form of divine intervention. Lost and alone, found suddenly in a garden of tranquility, a man losing his faith prays to a faceless, invisible god and receives guidance from above that allows him to go on. It works on a couple of layers.
It's only because Nero reaches out to his angel that any meaning can be created. Even the subject matter is relevant - Nero's abandonment issues at losing what little family he had, all an excellent note to flavour the subsequent fight with his deadbeat dad.
Also, Nero's VA sure knows how to scream, youtu.be
I don't know i just wish we'd see more of the ending btw i didn't get the secret endings for both characters bc i didnt use DT or breakage which affected my enjoyment
I loved it.
It felt so right and thought-through.
>tfw i'm the only person who plays DMC franchise for story
>I don't know i just wish we'd see more of the ending
DLC
>finished the game with a smile on my face
Not saying it was perfect but this is rare for a game so im happy.
I play for the lore too, the gameplay is only a bonus.
Vergil DLC when
I want to start playing the franchise, how good DMCs are ? Like masterpiece level of good or what ?
Masterpiece, superb gameplay and shounen tier story.
Just 2 is bad because it was developed in 4 months and 4 is a unfinished game
>Like masterpiece level of good or what ?
If you are into that kind of thing, sure.
I loved Bayonetta and apparently DMCs are way better, so i guess it's my thing yeah
>Like masterpiece level of good or what ?
definitely masterpieces in regards to the combat system as they offer some of the most indepth combat systems for their time.
DMC1 created the stylish combat genre and while somewhat janky and more focused around efficiency is still a blast to play today.
DMC3 is a masterpiece of its time and has a tight as fuck combat system though the enemy and boss design is fairly weak
DMC4 is a mixed bag. You can see the potential but due to the rushed development the combat struggles to stand up to 3 despite offering the entire moveset at once. At least the enemies are slightly better.
DMC5 is what DMC4 should have been. Fantastic combat system and great enemy design although the boss design is fairly mediocre but at least all of them are decent.
>and apparently DMCs are way better
I wouldn't say better because both are very different and have their own appeals, strengths and weaknesses.
It felt kinda flat for me, it would have been better if Nero at least shed a tear like Dante did in 3.
