literally who

based

that's a really good looking hamburger, would eat

Ace Attorney is an adventure video game series revolving around lawyer solving case often involving a bit of paranormal. It's realtively popular and has its own twitter page.

>adventure video game
you mean visual novel?

NANI ?

there is some puzzle sovling you have to do to progress.

Maybe ? Edge is a bit on the slow side, compared to his pairs.

I don't see any ramen
>J'aime
kill yourself

Go play FIFA you nigger

That's not even basic logic. A handgun doesn't even kill you just like that if you don't hit a vital spot - and the caliber of the gun could be different to the round. HELL, he might have died earlier to a heart-attack and then somebody shot the corpse.

shut up noob
you're not a fucking prosecutor or a detective

Sound exactly like what someone who has KILLED with a GUN would say.

HOLD IT!

Sorry Edgeworth, but we're dealing with a murder here. Surely you understand that the standard of proof is "beyond reasonable doubt". You don't really intend to rely on circumstantial evidence and inferences, right?

Attached: 1554675171466.jpg (353x374, 38K)

That's kinda funny, but the Ace Attorney twitter feels like your dad trying desperately hard to fit in with in with "the cool kids", it doesn't have nearly as much of a complete utter lack of fucks to give as the Sonic twitter.

edgeworth being a brainlet who refuses to think outside the box is the reason why nick rapes his boyhole every time they go toe-to-toe

Maya and pearlfags are closet pedos and supernatural mind reading bullshit ruined the series.

He never said "kill", he said "shot" And he was solely talking about the victim, not making accusation yet at this point.

>closet
lmao
also supernatural shit was right there from the start fucking retard

he's not wrong though
they should have kept mia alive
mia should have been the principal "supporting character/sidekick" and maya the "pearl"

Even if he didn't claim that the defendant shot the victim with the gun, it's still circumstantial evidence, which is fairly weak. It requires the jury to infer that the bullet wound and the gun are related which, while likely, is not conclusive at all without a witness, footage or some other decisive evidence. Of course, this is just coming from four comic panels, but in isolation, it wouldn't be enough to convict anyone.

hold on
Mia saved his ass in 1-2
Edgeworth saved his ass in 1-3, 1-5
also Phoenix got btfo in 2-4

Just bought the trilogy on switch, never touched any of them, have seen and read about 0 cases. What am I in for? Is the game challenging at all? I like hard games

No it's not challenging, you just need basic pattern recognition and problem solving then you should coast through the games.

what the fuck is this shit? that's not a hamburger

prosecutors are killers and you can fool entire courtroom with a paper badge

Press everything
There is always a problem
Always raise an objection

there is like maybe 4 instances across the series that this doesnt hold up

Shut up Apollo

Which cases brought the feels for you anons?

>1-5
>2-3
>3-5
>5-DLC
>5-5 Especially when it was found out poor Athena tried to 'fix' her dead mother on the robot workbench

Attached: 1553246884930.jpg (1024x1024, 122K)

Bruh, VN/Adventure games aren't the genre to be playing if you want challenging games.

Well the only ones I've played were the VLR series and it had a couple challanging puzzles, guess I misunderstood

>You don't really intend to rely on circumstantial evidence and inferences, right?

In the Phoenix Wright universe of "Not just guilty until proven innocent, but Guilty unless you can prove who actually did it."? Yeah, I think Edgeworth would be fine.

I must've missed the meme, what's this about?

References to noodles or ramen in the are localized to burgers in the US, have you even played the games?

What actually killed the series was Athena

No, I haven't.

Athena is the single best thing to happen to the series since JFA.

You actually liked the second game? Game 3 is the best of the original trilogy

I'm hungry and confused, I hope you're happy.

Keep faith even if AA2 is not that good at first. it has the worst cases and the best one of the trilogy. Keep going. 3 is a treat all the way.

T&T is mostly meh with only one thing it does well - build up the main villain of the game throughout multiple cases. Just the fact that they brought literal ghosts into the courtroom, instead of leaving this spiritual mumbo jumbo for the investigations ruins it. The final case was especially bad, not just because of the ghosts, but because Godot is such a poorly written character. 3 also had a chance at a purely civil case, like SoJ had, but they blew it by turning it into another murder.
2 in the meantime was a step forward from the cartoony villains into more morally grey territory with its cases. Which made them far more emotional than those in the first game. It even made Phoenix lose (well, if you choose so) a case to win the game, again braking away from the conventions of the original game.

Quick! What is your most crazy ace attorney online story? Something of this level.
>youtu.be/wfkeKaG8T40

The last case of JFA is the best of the whole series. It's completely crazy from start to end. It's just sad that the clown case that is maybe the worst one comes just before it.

Nothing's ever surpassed Turnabout Burger Grease. They might as well have shut the game down after that, nothing will ever top it.

Like in every visual novel
Text-only visual novels are called "kinetic novels"

Is there a vid of it?

I just recently replayed JFA on youtube, and the circus case is nowhere nearly as bad as I remembered it.

youtu.be/8JfJFcHA658

all AA games are at least good

Objection!
Kinetic (doesn't even make sense) novel is some bullshit you came up with to somehow legitimize VNs as games.

I wish that they'd either re-do the art for the trilogy remasters or give a mode to switch to pixel art.
That would be the only way i'd buy that port.

Attached: 1551248929901.jpg (1438x802, 464K)

I love the pixel art too but it'd look terrible blown up to HD resolutions. That's why I haven't played any of the soulless ports either, if I want to replay the games I break out my DS and that's the end of it.

I remember struggling to get through it. Lame jokes, lame characters, wheelchair asspulls. I don't remember another case that left me an impression this bad.

vndb.org/g709
Visual novels are basically "choose your adventure" books, while kinectic are just comics with music sometimes voice acting
Not that kinetic novels are bad, Umineko is fucking fantastic

Attached: screen02.jpg (1920x1080, 453K)

First game is the easiest (though the final two cases are definitely when things start to get noticeably tougher). Second and third game step up the difficulty in general relative to the first game.

Though not HD, the sprites looked good on the Wii.
I really do wish they'd give us something as close to the middle art as possible.

The second game is by far the "hardest" one (although in the VN case it doesn't really amount to much), because you can present the profiles in addition to evidence. And you have to do this a lot during the investigations. The courtroom sessions are more or less the same throughout the series though.

What. Making sure some you hit some arbitrary flags isn't puzzle solving. Kinetic novels are those that don't have any choices.

Circus case has one of the worst asspulls of the series for the last twist of the case how was I supposed to know the cripple had a blanket on his lap?
>godot is a poorly written character

Using logic to make to pick the correct/best option is litterally the difinition of puzzle solving

Attached: lyjazltnuqmz.gif (266x192, 92K)

Some fag has a massive stick up his ass lately over what is and isn't a video game even though regardless of his opinion games like DR and AA will always be considered video games and VNs are considered video games regardless of how angry he gets about it.

>greentext

>there is some puzzle sovling you have to do to progress.
There is, but it's in an extreme minority. 99% of Ace Attorney games is spent clicking through non-interactive dialogue, like in any visual novel. What few puzzles there are restricted to the court room phase.

This is in contrast to actual adventure games, which have less of en emphasis on non-interactive dialogue and place more of an emphasis on exploration and puzzle solving with some degree of non-linearity.

That makes faulty assumption that those options are always logical.

Not that user. I just hate when people call games that have VN elements (Even if it's stuff like AA that have them pretty strong) VN's.

>Not that user. I just hate when people call games that have VN elements (Even if it's stuff like AA that have them pretty strong) VN's.
How does that apply here? Ace Attorney doesn't just have VN elements, it's a VN with adventure elements.

Attached: 1549152541649.jpg (1200x1386, 118K)

Don't be a fag.
Stated evidence is the cause of death: gunshot. The autopsy has already been made. The last frame is clearly at the police station or crime scene too, so nobody has been indicted yet either.

>That makes faulty assumption that those options are always logical.
Not every visual novel is a good one, you're right

Because it's not a fucking visual NOVEL anymore then, is it?

I think you're the one misinterpreting what's going on here.

f

No. It has just enough gameplay to be classified a real game, therefore not a visual novel.

Always take little steps during trials.
Sometimes the evidence that would proof who the murderer is isn´t always the right evidence you are supposed to show at that time even if it is actually logical to show it at that point.

Someone attached the first panel to the stolen bike comic. I would but fuck that because I am lazy

Is this a joke about 4Kids

No it's a joke about the Capcom localization team

Obviously a ____ladder

Not my real ladder.

it's funny because the localization killed the franchise in the West

Actual translation in PW games.
They changed everything to be more "american".
Ramen are hamburgers in the translation.

That's dumb. The localization unironically made AA better.

That's literally the plot of oldboy though

>leaving your mauser C96 at the scene of the crime like it's some disposable hi-point

In AA anything that happens to a victim is an instant death unless it's useful for them not to die instantly like writing the suspect's name in blood even though that's also a red flag because he did die instantly and let's not forget the deadliest instant-kill weapon of all, a butter knife.

with every game selling less and less and relegated to digital only.

Also the whole skipping games here and there

what is it with anime and writing teenagers with supernatural talent and adult qualities? I know American YA novels do it too but anime often really emphasizes the character trait.

who wants a glass of grape juice?

Is the "grape juice" fermented?

>visual novel
Not really. It's just good old point-and-click with courtroom gimmick. You just don't see your character slowly walking through levels.

Ace Attorney best Husbando

1. Miles Edgeworth because he is rich
2. Phoenix Wright because he is cute
3. Godot because he is hot

Worst Husbando

1.Larry because he is a poor loser
2.Gumshoe because he gets a low salary
3. Kristoph Gavin

First game has best music

Second game has best prosecutor

Third game has best cases

>Franny
>best prosecutor
At least it waas Edgeworth in the last case

but edgeworth is troubled and flawed while von karma is perfect.

I heard this game had denuvo, is it true?
People don't just lie on the internet do they?

>I heard
All you have to do is go to the store page and check for Denuvo EULA. Which isn't there.

Thanks. I remember some games added Denuvo stealthily in there, so I wanted to be sure. I'm glad people complained enough to stop that at least.

>kay and emma have cute asses
nice

spoiler: it actually was grape juice even in the original japanese

I hope the collection sells well because I'll be pissed if we don't get other three games. I do not want to play Dual Destinies on my phone

I wish we could have had a case with loli Fran

So, how is the game compared to the old ones? Is it exactly the same or did they change it and made it shittier?

Attached: 1554755599461.png (480x280, 79K)

Same game, worse sprites
If you don't have a way to play Ds games go for it

What is THE best Ace Attorney

we did you retard. play AAI

How much has Phoenix earned as a lawyer?

How could Phoenix adopt a child as a single?
Poor Trucy she had to go to work because Hobo Phoenix is unemployed

I wish I could make a meme that rose to corporate status 6_6

Ahh it's out on skidrow

It's literally a VN.

It a reference to this video game comic parody that has become quite popular.
>I've said this before, but one of my favorite things that happens to media during localization is when the studio tries to pass it off as taking place in the United States when it very clearly does not. They got away with it pretty easily in the first Ace Attorney game, which just took place in "the city", but as the games got more involved in Japanese mythology they started digging a pretty deep hole for themselves and it was too late to say "just kidding, we're actually in Japan".

>So sure, Nine-Tales Vale is totally inhabited by "Japanese immigrants", and also some thousand-year-old Japanese youkai spirits immigrated with them.

ok I actually lol'd

>Like in every visual novel
No, not every.

Still one of Katie's best comics.

Japan is obsessed with youth and how perfect being young is because once they age, they just become another slave to the Japanese work system and can't do anything else for the rest of their lives unlike anywhere else. So they romanticize the teenage age as the perfect time of life when you can do no wrong before you become another corporate monkey.

Private defense attornies make quite a lot of money. Easily the most in the criminal legal profession. And he had been working for some very rich and high profile clients like Will Powers and Matt Engarde. So I imagine that he wasn't that poor in actuality during AJ. Trucy probably just worked because she wanted to and Phoenix was supporting her.

Attached: 0.jpg (500x500, 46K)

maybe AA is set in an Axis occupied America after a US defeat in WW2, like that tv show.

Attached: Trucy_and_Mr._Hat_1.gif (256x192, 166K)

Fun fact about the first Ace Attorney game: Takumi intentionally wrote it without a heavy focus on Japanese concepts because he figured the game would be localized. At some point he asked Shinji Mikami, who was one of the producers, when the localization would be happening and his answer was basically "haha fuck no". So he decided to go heavier on Japanese folklore elements in the second and third games since he thought the series would be stuck in Japan forever.

>Phoenix gets bamboozeled
>loses badge, suddenly everyone doesn't believe the system

It's a stepladder retard

According to Janet Hsu the American version of Ace Attorney takes place in a universe where anti-Japanese sentiments and internment during WW2 never happened, so Japanese immigrants were able to take root more firmly in the country.

Attached: 1554554463914.gif (256x192, 2.22M)

Correct. Or to put it in other words, it's a visual novel.

Why couldn't they just localise it so it takes place in Japan
Fuck, they could make the protagonist Phoenix Wright, American lawyer in Japan if they wanted to.

FUCK JAPS AND FUCK JAPAN

This was like 2001 user, localisation wasn't out of the 4kids era yet

I know why Oldbag likes Edgeworth ..
He has gray hair and looks old

Apparently it's Takumi's favorite beverage

The concept art of the characters are cool

>Playing DGS
>HOW COULD THIS GUY GET INTO THE CRIME SCENE WITHOUT USING THE MAIN DOOR!?
>Victim clearly was put in through the roof and the huge fucking blood stain under the skylight proves it.
>Witness demands evidence of this being possible
>Try to present the Omnibus itself as proof
>FUCK YOU PLAYER, THAT'S WRONG! PENALTY!
I hate AA's way of making you take the long way around to present obvious proof sometimes.

In Apollo, I remember seeing a way to prove something in the flashback case without using the blatantly obviously forged evidence, and getting incredibly mad that the game wouldn't let me present anything but the forged evidence.

But who cares about that, let's watch that video one more time.

>He died of a gunshot wound
You know, that's literally what autopsies are for. To determine, you know, the cause of death

Is T&T the hardest game in the series or JFA?

Well yea, we wouldnt wanna encourage underage drinking in a game about MURDER

>Takes lollipop out of his mouth
