Best difficulty thread

What's the best difficulty for certain games in your opinion.

My question is about AC Odyssey. I tried nightmare. It's not hard, it's fucking time consuming. Its 80 repetitions of dodge and combo. What's the best difficulty for AC Odyssey? A balance of difficulty and at least not having to pretend it's more of a bullshit dark souls. Hell I can kill sekiro bosses faster than some enemies in this game.

lulz

"It's not hard. I swear. It's just tedious."

Every. Fucking. Time.

Because it is. I dont want to spend 30 min on some damage sponge. It's not rocket surgery.

If a game has difficulty selection is best to just go normal as that's what it's usually balanced around and higher difficultes are just going to be tedious shit most of the time. Better for games not to have a difficulty option in the first place

>Its 80 repetitions of dodge and combo
so Dark Souls?

Hes right though, asscreed difficulty just makes the enemies damage sponges especially in the most recent games. You litterally just spend more time killing them, they dont become harder or anything.

>female protagonist is canon
shit game

Outside of games like stalker
What game did difficulty aettting right?

Dark souls at least makes it moderately difficult by switching up the patterns. There's also windows in which to parry and score the big hits. AC is just roll and hit a few time then roll and hit a few times. It's not hard, it's boring.

Wrong. Normal is for normalfags. The kinda dude that's a father with a career. It's a matter of pride since most gamers aren't very skilled at all.

There's very few action games that don't play best on the highest setting. There's no excuse for someone like you.

The hilarious part is that Yea Forums is fucking plagued with casual shitters. Literal DSP tier cucks.

Except dark souls actually has variety in fights, ass creed is the same fight over and over.

sounds to me you just suck

Not the thread topic.
The new god of war game made the hardest difficulty fun and rewarding at least. Even if it was a horrible slog. Sekiro added a bunch of ways to make the game more difficult. Stalker is good but it's not the only rewardingly tough game out there.

default or one step up is best for odyssey/origins

most of the time you should be assassinating anyways and combat isn't as fun if you turn it up to max (damage sponges).

It's impossible to suck at an asscreed game, what drugs are you on? It's almost impossible to die in them they are so repetitive and easy even on hard.

>It's impossible to suck at an asscreed game
you obviously proved that theory wrong

Usually the game get balanced around the hardest difficulty. The lower ones just reduce the enemy stats.

Sounds to me like you dont know the difference between difficulty and tedium.

i do

Dark Souls = tedium
Sekiro = difficulty
(you) = a shitter

It's not hard to beat, it's time consuming and the whole point of this thread is finding the right in game balance. Something being hard and something being easy but having to repeat the same fucking action over and over and over and over again to simulate difficulty are two very different things.

Normal mode is the best difficulty on all games.

Sekiro=fucking easy until new game+
Dark souls=Difficult with a tinge of bullshit
(You)=equals stupid faggot

I would agree but this is the processing plant of video games, ubisoft. They package processed meat made of pig lips and horse assholes to sell as an actual product.

I want to believe this.
I believe this more.

If youre not playing Ys on Nightmare you're not truly playing at all

>it's fucking time consuming
This is what Time Savers™ are for.

also make sure to have a glass jar up your ass

Sekiro NG+ doesnt increase difficutly dear retard

I just go normal. It feels like they balanced it around normal.

Enemy behavior and attacks don't change from level 1 humans with a sword, to level 50 humans with a sword. They don't gain new attacks, they don't learn where the player likes to hide or if they like fleeing when losing the guards or if they wait in ambush etc

This. I used to always pick the hardest difficulty out of dumb masochism. Now I usually pick normal and only pick the harder difficulties if I know that the game actually makes them meaningful instead of just jacking up the health and damage of the enemies.
