How would you make him challenging?
When I saw e3 trailer I thought this guy gonna be tough as fuck. In reality he’s one of the easiest bosses - almost everyone 1st tries him. Wtf, From soft?
How would you make him challenging?
Just leave him. He's fun and you don't know shit about game design.
I'd have him and the horse attack separately at times, so on the one hand you have to deal with a boss that fights similarly (if not even more aggressively) to the other samurai generals while also having to dodge a horse that would attack you like the bull.
Why would you need to make him especially challenging? He's the first boss. Literally start of the tutorial.
first phase you kill the hourse
second phase he becomes 7 spears 2.0
Based
Cringe
So Nameless 2.0? No wonder they refused this one. sounds interesting
It's true. He's fine and you don't know shit about game design.
This, he's a really cool boss and he should be the first boss you face, he's there to get you used to:
>Deflecting bosses, and things that you wouldn't think you should traditionally block
>How useful certain prosthetics will be vs certain kinds of enemies
>His name is Gyoubu Masataka Oniwa
The only poor game design here is letting you get the bell charm to face Butterfly before him. I guess they expected you to leave Butterfly since she's so hard, and it's fairly obvious that the area isn't the main story path.
I died to him 20 times...
the only poor game design in this boss is the sculptor not giving you the prosthetic skill tree right away. i knew that you must do something since the boss allows you to fly to him but i couldn't do any skills in the air till i bought a skill in the prosthetic skill tree. i had to watch videos on beating him and in one of the videos the guy said you should have the prosthetic skill tree and i noticed that i didn't have it.
I think this is fine, the prosthetic skill tree isn't even close to necessary, and the grapple still stuns him for long enough to get a hit in.
How.
He's like the easiest boss to avoid.
If you didn't kill him in one go you're a scrub.
Does everything really need to take hours to memorize? This boss is fine, plus people still lose to him sometimes
I agree that it sometimes felt a little odd to not be able to do some attacks that you are clearly meant to, but they're not that essential to beating any enemy or boss

HOW THE NIGGER DO I BEAT DEMON OF HATRED AHHHHH
>tfw had a much easier time with guardian ape than him
you gotta pull that trigger cause you're a crazy nigger
he's the first real boss in the game, he should be easy
I got killed by him once or twice but killed the ape first try, both the first and the second encounter with mama ape. It's subjective
sprint northeast
always sprint northeast
Evade charge, when he backs off instantly sprint after him, you will always evade his fire balls that way or the long vertical slash. Parry his basic attack string: Right-Left-Stomp-Right. When he jumps into the air, run away and grapple to him, it's one of his best easiest moves to get in hits. Phase two he will always start with the long flame wall, sprint and jump timely to evade and grapple to him. Always stay on his ass.
I died to him countless times
Literally exists to shove your first attack boost into you. If he's your second boss even the shittiest of players would one shot him.
give him infinite range grabs like chained ogre.
Aren’t you a bad ass.
Make him able to counter grapple attacks.
If you hit him too late, he grabs your grapple, and yanks you towards him for an exploitable sweep attack
That’s Genichiro. Gyobu too weak and slow to teach deflecting.
You don’t know shit too, faggot
Uhhh I totally had prosthetic arts when I fought this guy
Make it harder to close distance with him.
>he now has attacks that punish you for sprinting directly at him
>he now has a couple of counterattacks to the grappling hook
>the horse can kick you
i did too but only after realizing that i have to start another dialogue with the sculptor after i install the 3rd prosthetic weapon. what i'm saying is, the sculptor should give it to u right away after installing the 3rd prosthetic weapon instead of having to start dialogue with him again.
He's just trying his best for his motherland. I legit felt bad for killing him, even now. Also looking at the horse when I executed him left a bad taste in my mouth.
I learned from previous From games that sometimes side quests must be activated or continued by exhausting an NPCs dialogue options so I just talk to everyone until they repeat themselves
i only played ds3 and i didn't do a single quest/mission in it. so i didn't know
He was a mad dog that had to be put down, no regrets
DS3 was actually when I learned that, I fucked up my Fat Knight quest by not talking to him several times and he didn’t show up for the next part of his quest because of it
most of the time i had to be over leveled to beat the bosses in ds3. i suck at dodging
> long flame wall
>charge
Just use feather
But, this is good guide, did same things.
If you get the fully upgraded finger whistle prosthetic (Malcontent) you can stun him 3 times. Best used in phase 3, where you spam it.
Also the fire umbrella helps a lot in this fight. Look up a vid on how to use it properly if you dont already know.
Not him but I didn't understand parrying and timing well enough to beat him without dying a ton. 4 days later I had all the endings done, the Platinum unlocked, and I was boss rushing Owl 2, DoH, and SSI without any deaths.
Don't listen to the people who tell you to always stay close. He's not a parry boss. He has 3 health bars, longer recovery windows than the Ape, and the biggest arena in the game. He's meant for hit and run.
I beat him by deflecting and wailing on him, using the fire shield when he jumps in the air to negate the fire/knock back and getting a shit tonne of dmg. Got him done pretty fast on my final run.
