comfy mines is comfy user. i loved mines 2 so much. we can't go back unless he hop on an unofficial with whack weird rates and shit its so stupid. i can't believe my time in pso is gone. it was quite possibly the absolute funnest ive had in online gaming, period. from 10th prestige in mw2, halo 2 shenanigans, marvel vs capcom 1 from kaillera to ggpo to fightcade for 1000s of hours, literally nothing beats pso. its sad. a whole time and generation of special experimental gaming gone, from when there were limitations on hardware so devs had to make actual original ideas and make things fun and rewarding, feelings such as satisfaction used to be a thing. its all gone.

no fucking thanks. i played jp server with the janky translation patch a few years ago, it got very fucking dull, all the game is about is waiting for the emergency quests, everything else is fucking worthless. partying with people hardly happens, and the farming required is bananas.
i got to about level 70 or some shit as a force, the game was fun for the first while, but it gets real old. i'd rather play pso1 or psou because it's 100% a game you need to play with friends or other regulars

Game was good at open beta/release. I don't know how long it was until it became EQ/gachabait. That was an amazing summer spent grinding monsters in different maps with a /jp/ shell or just randos in general.

The Dreamcast servers were closed 15 years ago, you play on a private server on PC now.

they did, the sea server is in english i'm sure. but it's also miles behind content wise, so who the fuck in their right mind is gonna play that shit.

this was years ago, i probably did, but there were still plenty of non english names around and people still barely spoke.

not surprising. i've got a couple of memorable moments from it, like fighting that big fucking tiger cunt or double tigers, or figuring out how to get my first not dogshit armor set from the like achievement rewards system or whatever. the first time i joined an emergency quest in the forest and the place was full of people and huge monsters and was lots of fun even if everything died before i could do jack shit because force is slow as fuck and everyones op as shit for the content.
conversely, the first dark falz emergency quest i done was boring as shit, no challenge at all everyone just raped everything with no risk.
too much grinding of recycled content over and over honestly that ultimately isn't even worth your time cause emergency quests are better

Only Phantasy Star games I played were 0 and Portables 1 and 2. SEGA doesn't seem keen on bringing the series stateside, so I'm more or less calling it a day on my experience with the series.

Already got one, been playing since it came out. Nice seeing some more love for the game. Or any love at all, really.

Read this shit, user. PSO has a lot of really weird little intricacies that the game doesn't tell you unless you do some sidequests, and it's pretty fucking important (namely, MAGs, timed hits, and combo progression/accuracy.)

Once you figure out your MAG (there are feeding charts out there, I highly recommend looking one up), keep it simple until you're more comfortable and go for the stats: 5/145/50/0. Defense on a MAG is a waste of a stat. Newbie trap.

i initially got into pc gaming for it because HOLY SHIT PSO WITH MORE SKILLS AND YOU CAN BE ANY CLASS AS ANY RACE OH FUCK but when i actually got it the game was nothing more than soulless waifu garbage wehere you speedrun the same 3 missions over and over and all the fun quests are locked behind an arbitrary timer
