When will companies realize the issue with Premium isn't if the F2P player gets less contnt or the P2W more than the standard one, the problem is that they create such gap between the 2 that makes everyone not want to play.
The F2P won't play if he's much weaker than the premiun one, and the latter won't pay if there's nobody to show their higher status.

Do people really think you can have a healthy community where money has such an impact on player performance?

It becomes slightly less ridiculous if you see it like runescape's f2p system where members is the way the game is supposed to be played and f2p is basically just a demo.

After playing through the tutorial, this game is reminding me a lot of archeage.
That probably isn't a good thing.

Ocean combat made the business practices of Archeage tolerable for awhile, but it doesn't look like this game has anything like that.

crowfall isn't even out. people aren't realy playing crowfall betas because they keep wyping progress with ever new build.

how is plex p2w? the only thing that plex can give you is either ISK or game time. anyone can buy skill injections and I have seen people pulling absolutely insane dps on shitty destroyers. the only thing that a f2p player really cant fight are strategic cruisers or battlecruisers and above.

It really bothers me that a lot of the utility abilities are on long cooldowns. I can understand for abilities that let you move faster. but heals?

When I read about Albion years ago I thought it might be a proper successor to UO, but since germans (especially mobile devs) have to ruin fucking everything of course that wasn't the case.

What about Legend of Aria though? (originally kickstarted as shards online)

It has this weird shard system (which is essentially copying the custom server rules the runUO emulator made possible).

Is that game any good? One of the few kickstarter MMORPGs that actually came close to release/had a beta and everything.

Online was a neat comfy title originally adopted by MMORPGs that had an established setting, so you immediately knew what the fuck it was about.

MMO is basically facebook for people without friends. It even has grinding like Candy Crusher. MMO is dead because social media replaced it.
