Nes was fist gen 2d that got improved by snes. SNES 2d holds up way better
N64 was first gen 3d that got improve by GC. Gamecube 3d holds up way better

The reality is that the SNES will likely never be topped as a home console simply because Dev cycles were so incredibly short back then that you just had more of everything. More dogshit games. More masterpieces. With the benefit of hindsight you can look back on the console and ignore the massive piles of atrocious shovelware and just get the good stuff, of which there is a lot.
