Nintendo produced this to a handful of dentists across the US. It never took off because it was expensive and probably because of how ridiculous and cheap it looks.
Anyway, the point of this was to calm children down before a cavity procedure. Laughing Gas would connect to the device and while they play their gameboy / gameboy color, the gas would kick it and calm their nerves down.
I'm a dentist that's been in practice for 24 years.
