So I ordered some parts to build my first PC and they just got here early. Watching build guides now I'm seeing people use thermal paste? I didn't know i needed this for the build. One video said you can use just about any "paste" like substance as long as you don't use too much (i.e. toothpaste or mayonnaise or such like that) Is this true? I don't want to ruin my expensive i9 by doing this wrong

Cum is a good heat conductor.
>toothpaste
>mayonaise
don't be fucking stupid, go to best buy or something similar and get some god damn thermal paste retard.
toothpaste is fine, go on op have fun.
Hey buddy I think you're lost /g/ is two blocks down.
>Is this true?
no
i assume you bought a fan for the cpu. they sometimes come with a thermal pad. they're less efficient than paste but they'll work.
>he doesn't know about the mayo trick
LMAO
Mayonnaise is what you want OP.
use toothpaste.
if you've got baking soda lying around the house, mix in a small amount with the toothpaste.
if not, just add some salt.
Nah just throw it on there without any thermal paste. While your at it don't put a heatsink on either it just causes extra noise, make sure you delete system32 after you get your PC up and running.
Even if it did work, it wouldn't last. Stop being dumb.
Fuck you
Fuck you
I just use elmer's stick glue because I don't like the squirting one.
Get out, consoletard.
Smell eggs cooking?
Reapply the mayo. It's that simple.
Remember to add some drops of superglue to secure the heatsink to the cpu, friend!
Your stock CPU cooler probably has some thermal paste on it.
what the fuck is this real
how do i confirm that my watercooler pump has died?
redpilled
The mayo was in a fridge for a week before application.
when the water cooler stops functioning
is the inside of your computer wet?
it lights up but its not detected by any component program (corsair link). the cpu mount, both hoses, and radiator get wicked hot. motherboard too.
its still all sealed in there
h80i
>its still all sealed in there
dismantle it and check. since you need to do it anyway since your pc is hot and needs fixings.
nigger if the cooler stops cooling the computer then it's already dead
the fear the hose nipples will crack or the hoses wont seal again at the nipple after reassembly. i hear fluid sloshing in there.
>i9
>stock cooler
Inteljeets have to pay extra to delay their housefires, user.
Why the fuck would you get an i9 lmao
I hope this is bait or a hypothetical, because what moron spends hundreds on their hardware but won't pay $5 for thermal paste.
>Arctic MX-4
>One of the worst
This bait is more rancid than a FFX in God Tier FF Tier list image.
A difference of 35* is good. Here is the source. Claims to be a PHD from Brazil.

i thought the caveat of this was you could use pretty much anything like mayo but that it degrades way faster tham actual thermal paste and what you're really paying for is longevity and consistency, as in one little smear of 5 dollar paste will last for years and years keeping your cpu withing the same temperature the whole time.
Every single intel cpu comes with stock cooler and thermal compound already.
lmaoing@yourlife amnigger
My i5 gets noisy as hell though despite never getting that hot. Worth upgrading just for that.
mines a i5 8400, quiet as fuck, would only upgrade for 8700k
> video said you can use mayonnaise
imagine the smell.
apply moar paste
Mmm, mustard thermal paste
