I’m not sure if you’re saying it’s good or bad.
But I like it.

It is very bad.

I feel like something's missing.

All this time, Sally was a chubbychaser. No wonder Sonic could never seal the deal.

bump

Sorry Cucknic, but you're too slow.

Attached: Dae0xfFVAAAP5DX.jpg (1200x527, 133K)

Semi-unrelated, but I'll never not be mad as fuck that Flynn & co were never allowed to finish Sonic Mega Drive.

I heard bad things about it.

He doesn't look chubby at all. Bearmode.

I read the available issues, it was great, basically a Sonic 4 in terms of plot, it has an equivalent to Chaos Emeralds the heroes and Eggman were fighting over and they traversed a set of original zones in the style of the classic games.

More like fatmode. His waistline is like 4 times that of Sally's.

>Amy in the center

Disgusting. She knew her place in the old comic.

Attached: 1375176472180.jpg (1500x2270, 628K)

That is cool maybe I will check it out. I have no idea how Flynn fell so far with IDW. I guess he is only in for the paycheck now.

Seems like Penders leaving was a double-edged sword for Archie and the comic fans.

Attached: penders_.png (611x367, 54K)

It's enjoyable but also frustrating to read because they were one issue away from the end when the Archie license got canned.

I miss sonic boom comic and cartoon

This, closest we have to it are the promotional animations.

It's still pretty good, especially for something related to Sonic. I think IDW just shackled Ian "furry-slayer" Flynn so they woukdn't get into legal issues.

You know you really need a woman, G

It is really really boring, i heavily disagree.

The writing for this show was too good for this universe. I'm no sonic fan and even I admit this shits funny as hell.

twitter.com/PAMaster2/status/1113997899996598273

It is mostly people who want to believe Archie isn't dead defending it. IDW is a far cry from anything like Archie.

both are fucking kino
youtube.com/watch?v=j6mzBjFtcBc

Archie is worse than people remember. Most of Ian's issues were setup or boring.

It desperately needs a new head writer. Flynn needs to go.

The fact that people are still even talking about archie shows what a juggernaut it was. Most comics are completely forgotten before even the final issue.

Spotted the ADD kid.

What do you mean? IDW Sonic or liking Sonic comics in general like back during The Ride?

The truth is, for a lot of "people" on Yea Forums today, these are their actual childhood games.
Horrifying, I know. We're surrounded by shit-tasted late teenagers, you and me, user with good taste.

IDW Sonic

Totally agree

ken fucking penders. the comics were a mistake holy shit

Attached: 1533787632031.jpg (327x319, 18K)

But I played that two years ago for the first time and thought it was pretty decent outside of the horrendous framerate.

It doens't bother me with Sonic, but it bothers me with Mega Man so I understand the feeling.

Mega Man 1-3 is sacred. Stop shoving in your zoomer OCs like Oilman.

Oil Man was not a creation of the comics.

Not going to deny that, I think Ian was able to cover his faults by tapping more into the lore already established even if a lot of it had to be dropped. Also the art was far better during that time.

IDW Sonic is boring as hell because Sega don't allow them to anything with it other than advertise upcoming games. The only good that came out of it is Whisper because she is a top cutie.

Attached: Whisper.png (1409x1990, 1.33M)

IDW Sonic isn't anything to write home about, but it's not awful. It feels more awkward than anything.

I want /sthg/ to go and stay go

Attached: 1553613902804.png (550x652, 62K)

It is pretty awful.

Occasionally. But when the character drama is good you can overlook some pretty henious art.

Attached: 0 (2).jpg (500x247, 60K)

It is so bland and poorly paced that I stopped caring about it.

I mistakenly thought this might be a cool character, but then someone said she wasn't actually blind. Bunnie had half her body incinerated but you can't have a blind person in IDW?

Sonic fans cling hard on to anything. Even so, Archie fans are still pretty small in comparison to the greater Sonic fanbase.

I miss them

Attached: 1500587454167.jpg (600x910, 143K)

I sure don't.

They're big fish in a small pond. While in the realms of gaming Sonic is equvalient to Zool nowadays the comic is still the best-selling video game comic of all time, and not even Mario-kun or Pokémon Special can beat that.

I want Sonic to fight Eggman already.

Soul

Soulless

>pretty small
End this repetitive meme. Ken Penders, just a few moments ago, went to the trending section on Twitter. By no means we can deduce Archie fans and its quantity are "pretty small".

People STILL think Ian Flynn is a good writer?

Being better than Penders is not a feat.

That is because Tangle and Whisper are primarily marketing gimmicks over characters added to enhance the story or provide new material.

Wait, why did you assume she was blind? Because her character design has her eyes closed?

I'd like to know who the fuck enjoys the Sonic comic at all. It's literall worse than those furry webcomics that AT LEAST throw some tits at you every 10 panels
Even by furry standards it's pretty shit

You will when this comes out

Attached: C2BF5AF0-2347-4EBB-B590-08694A2D45ED.jpg (530x308, 37K)

He may have completely botched IDW, but he did a great job fixing up Penders' mess and handled the move over to Post-Reboot pretty well.

I think, alongside the SEGA mandates, Ian Flynn lost the passion and is just doing it for a paycheck now.

>he is not watching the real Saviour of Sonic the Hedgehog

Attached: mad sonic.jpg (1280x720, 93K)

The british sonic comic was better.

I miss The Freedom Fighters, the new series is absolutely garbage

Attached: 1554547683914.png (1092x1200, 1.1M)

Maybe it would be better if Sonic just didn't have a comic at all?

Apparently according to the IDW sales numbers, while it is doing much better than Archie was during the end of its run, the sales numbers are dropping constantly.

His episodes in Boom were pretty good too. And his run in Sonic X was better than what came before. I think the people who hate Ian are the same people going SONIC AND EGGMAN ONLY, NO PLOT, NO DRAMA, GREEN HILL ZONE

>implying the movie won't be kino
cringe and group outrage pilled

At this point there wouldn't be anything lost given how pointless IDW is.

Yeah because Alvin and the chipmunks was kino too.

Bardonic OTP

SOUL

Attached: 0.jpg (500x387, 75K)

His Sonic X stuff really makes me think he lost something, since those comics had a lot of mandates and were episodic stories of Sonic fighting Eggman.

The issue with Sonic taking Amy on a date was the best.

/sthg/ has become a fancomic central at this point, so yeah.

I miss him

Attached: quickie_fini_by_herms85-datf1sp.jpg (491x800, 137K)

Champions was the last decent Sonic comic arc desu.

These comics started off super bland. It was just Sonic running into a town, meeting a buddy, beating up robots with buddy, then Sonic leaves for the next town in the next comic. This went on for how long? Is it still like that because I stopped reading after Shadow signed in.

Eggman is turning people into metallic zombie goo right now.

BRING UNIVERSE BACK

Because it was simple, used the cast effectively, and most importantly had great pacing.

It has gotten slightly better, but not enough to say that those problems are close to being resolved.

>Forgetting Universe

Universe never had a bad arc. Prove me wrong.

Flynn still wants to have drawn out, year long arcs so yes.

Metal Sonic got an arc for a bit, and now Eggman made a disease that infects people and turns them into Zombie robots, and Sonic got infected in the latest issue. He's probably gonna turn back in the next issue knowing IDW, but it might be interesting.

It still is, you would be better off reading a shitty fancomic as at least it would be entertaining.

I really hope that's the case, because then we might look back at this travasty and know that something good came out of it. Like how Scourge went from greaser Sonic to a true odyssey of kingship, godhood and redemption.

Attached: 1501436721548.jpg (845x1024, 205K)

Would Nicole be a good wife?

They should've just tried to be completely different for the new comic. Trying to base things off the games and still trying to keep Archie Sonic's style is a bad idea because of how poorly Sonic Team has built the world and mandates hurt a lot when it comes to trying build anything with the characters since it needs constant approval.

It should've been something new and unconnected like Boom was or the movie is going to be.

Well you sure are optimistic.

Many have suggested the comic should have tried to be more episodic and try more zany ideas rather than slowly build up a world like Flynn is doing now.

Hell no. If they had half a brain they would've tried to carry over the momentum archie had built up over the last two decades.

Instead the comic went with Forces as its starting shot. Like, it was fucked before it even began. That's like if archie started as an adaption of '06.

SEGA is forcing the comics to be like the games. It certainly is a problem, but given Ian Flynn was able to make something fun out of Sonic X and Unleashed adaptations he most certainly could have made something fun here.

Okay so I'm currently at the part after Sonic came back from space and they're rescuing the Echidnas. However I skipped all the Knuckles spin offs because I thought it was boring. Can someone explain everything that happened with him?

I'm pretty sure Archie Sonic was losing momentum towards the end. I remember quite a bit of complaining about it and how the SWC arc was going and people wanting it to be over with.

The new sonic comics needs an autistic mastermind to write them. Pender stuff was great for a long time but his autistic side started to bleed into the work in later years.

To save sonic get a autistic head writer every 2 to 3 years. No longer as they either loose passion or go fucking ape shit autistic.

The comics have a management problem that needs fixing.

It really wasn't, but it was just getting overshadowed by the far more exciting Universe. With that evil shadow clone and the egg boss arc getting shit done faster.

Penders was bad from day 1.

The Great Battle Kukku was the only memorable one from that group. What's cool though is that he's an official Sonic character so he'll probably show up again at some point, assuming Iizuka's "Classic vs. Modern character allowance" autism doesn't flare up again, that is.

Attached: 1392444746687.jpg (1920x1080, 549K)

Oh please. Daily reminder that thunderbolt outsmarted and defeated sonic and if not for the werehog ex machina she would be serving his head on a platter.

Attached: 281.png (652x478, 584K)

Haven't characters done that in the past though? Eh, that doesn't seem all that special. You're gonna have to give me more than that. What else is interesting about this character besides her design and her one sided romance towards Eggman?

How does this work if her lower half is completely roboticized?

Fuck, his design reeks of ow the edge but goddamn was it cool. Finitevus was a pretty chill villain

What else is interesting about Sonic besides his design and speed? Being an eggboss in itself entails a lot of crap.

Attached: 1463906275224.jpg (1988x3056, 1.69M)

I notice you didn't really answer the question.

I don't feed trolls.

Eh, been getting better since Eggman got his memories back.

Not now, Boco.

It is still not worth reading.

The same way Forces has a better story than Lost World.

There is nothing salvageable about Nu-Sonic for good comic material. If this was still the Adventure era we probably would have something to work with.

boring comic

Why can't the comic draw more from the Adventure era?

Hey, as much as I hate attempts to make Sonic serious, Archie/IDW Eggman is such a manipulative, psychotic sicko its almost impossible to not like him.

Plus no Freedom Fighters.

Fuck off Ken

This

I like it when Sonic fights Eggman, something that doesn't happen in IDW.

After forces the door should be open for an OC bonanza. And genocide. And torture. In fact, how did they fuck it up so bad? They're literally allowed to do anything at this point.

Attached: p.png (632x409, 387K)

IDW loves its slow burns.

>They're literally allowed to do anything at this point.
Not after the two worlds, forcing an alien language onto Sonic ,restricting all continuities except the games, no more classic characters, etc.

I said NOT NOW BOCO.

Attached: what.png (167x161, 53K)

Well I don't.

Sega wants to move on from that era. You're only allowed Post-Colors material.

Uh, okay. Good talk, I guess.

Attached: 1500672618550.jpg (486x400, 82K)

Alright already!

You think this is bad, read TMNT or the new Transformers.

I prefer Eggman being a semi-goofy hands on villain, so I don't like how he is handled in IDW.

Ian is trying to emulate Archie Eggman and very poorly, too.

He doesn't work as a manipulative behind-the-scenes guy because his entire force is (supposed to) consist of mindless robots. If he needs something done with finesse he has to go do it himself.

Attached: Eggman.jpg (1500x2307, 654K)

But in most other mediums Eggman likes to take Sonic on himself.
Eggman is delegating too much work and the comic is suffering as a result.

This
>take beloved 90s videogame icon known for being a both a good videogame and an appealing character
>give it a mouth and inject a lot of soap opera drama
I feel like the only reason why Sonic kinda gets a pass on this is because it appeals to furries, people would laugh their asses off if you saw Mario doing shit like this

No they wouldn't. Didn't you play TTYD? That's basically what archie did for sonic.

Attached: 79fec274e758beadffa5786a5db70ebd.png (1215x966, 1.3M)

Is IDW Sticker Star then?

At least it is a game

That's a perfect comparison, if I must say.

There is something so hillarious to see Sonic characters in these serious situations such as being a prisoner in jail. I swear to god this is some abstract kind of cringe i cannot comprehend people like

You ain't seen shit, son.

Attached: Masterplan.jpg (992x2936, 1.32M)

I think that is my main problem with this shit of a comic they want to have drama but it's like what a 14 year old think drama is

You can have Sonic be serious and mature without resorting to shit like the comic or cringe levels of edge like Shadow the Hedgehog you just need to not be a fucking shit writer

Why is he so downplayed in IDW?

Attached: Cyatmx_VEAA-3Z9.jpg large.jpg (2048x1319, 492K)

I don't even understand what he's saying. Was speed the factor in which one gets the girl?

Because him being gone was a source of conflict for the first year. Now that he's back, he's taking his time for a big debut. After that, it'll be back to usual.

So what does a 14 year old like you think drama is?

Attached: 1492796125045.jpg (1987x3056, 1.42M)

Why make us wait for something we expect to see from the comic?

He wanted to make a sex joke about Sonic's speed, and he's a moron. That's all there is to it.

>making people wait for the main character to fight the main bad guy

Because it gave us Metal Sonic in charge for a change of pace.

DRUUUUUMPFFFFFFF!!!!

Yeah, it was a bad decision.

Ian Flynn thinks that giving us shit we expect from Sonic is somehow a reward.

Me too

Attached: like this.gif (220x169, 427K)

Ian can only work when he has a large canon to establish off of.

When he doesn't you get things like IDW Sonic and Mega Man.

That was a bad decision. Mr. Tinker should have remained instead already turning to Eggman, a few issues later.

Bunnie's robotics were upgraded at least a couple of times before then. Plenty of opportunities for installing the best robofleshlight Mobian technology could give her.

But what does she get out of it? Does antoine rub her ears or something? I saw a french movie where they did that once.

Attached: movie_review1-1.jpg (600x424, 61K)

Bunnie's high tech robovagánia can probably do and feel things you can't even imagine.

Attached: 1525294145453.jpg (840x1098, 171K)

Comics are tween drama at worse, bland as paper at best
Games are constant shit, even a game made by "fans" wasn't all that great
Absolutely the worst third party character in Smash bros with shitty stages, moveset and awful music selection

Just put this franchise to bed already,Sega. the 30 year old boomers who do like it don't even pay for it, they always pirate it and then say "Until they meet my standards I'll never give Sega my money" it's over already, be a good business for once and shelf this franchise or sell it to the chinese like everybody else who needs quick cash and needs to unload something useless.

Can a human impregnate a robo rabbit?

Man, it sucks you didn't get to experience the 90's.

The boom episodes he did were pretty good.

Probably because he was forced to work with what was available.

Yeah. Nothing.

If Ian Flynn was forced into shorter stories he might make something better.

>Until they meet my standards I'll never give Sega my money
That's completely justified though

Attached: RCO024_w.jpg (349x627, 98K)

Sally was never good.

I don't know why Ian Flynn is even brought up. He didn't even work for IDW until recently. How was he able to plan a story from scratch when he had nothing to with it?

True
But she was hot and that makes her 1% ok but still bad

He is the main writer for the IDW Sonic comic.

He wasn't always. Do we blame him for the dark age too?

He was always the writer for IDW Sonic.

Does anyone else want to fuck Sally or Nicole?

I liked it when I was a kid. Stories of Sonic and his pals kicking the shit out of robots that weren't videogames were pretty cool. They're mediocre looking back on them, but it's a nice nostalgia trip.

Pretty underrated character. Would read a stand alone series based on him fighting crime across a bunch of different Zones.

WOOOOOOOW fucking bullshit. But it does prove my theory that you can avoid getting wet in both S2 and S3.

That classic embargo is still going so no chance of him appearing unless Sega does it themselves.

Sonic Colors DS is good, but the Wii version is meh.

>People are just now starting to comain about Flynn
I told you fucks this was going to happen. The IDW reboot needed new blood, not old blood trying to keep a corpse alive. Without their establish Archie lore, they have nothing to work with and are flopping aimlessly like a fish out of water and hoping they find something that comes close. From day one IDW Sonic felt like it wanted to continue to be Archie when it had no chance of becoming it.
>BUT SEGA!
>BUT MUH MANDATES!
>BUT SEGA WANTS IT TO BE TIED TO THE GAMES!
So? It's not difficult to work with those restrictions in mind. You make it sound like a fucking curse. Mega Drive had no problems delivering a fun little comic with said restrictions outside of cancellation lol. You can bring up the point that it was simplified kitty shit, but that's how you fucking build your world. Introduce small concepts and expand on their complexity. Now were all stuck in this mediocre comic where it took fucking forever for one thing to happen, and it's something that should have fucking happened 2-3 fucking issues in.

People have been upset since it was clear year 1 was a poorly pace, bland piece of garbage.

People stopped complaining about the mandates on /sthg/ after people started writing their own story ideas that fit easily with the mandates.

>pretty pictures and funny faces is world building

That being said you're right in that IDW needs some fresh talent.

I don't know what the mandates are, but I don't see why IDW couldn't start off with shorter, simpler stories to build its world.

Why do people act like they know what mandates there are?

We know several of them from interviews.

How come Sonic is only handled by incompetent people?

Do you think Sally and Nicole have a sexual relationship?

>Introduce small concepts and expand on their complexity.
I still don't get how this guy understands this when he's asked to write a comic about something like Sonic Boom, but he's failed to do this twice in a row with the core Sonic book. Like god damn, it isn't hard, write a few cute stories that are different from each other and then tie them up in a nice little bow before moving on, bringing forward little bits and pieces as you go. Dedicating entire issues to "introducing" ideas/characters is always the worst way to do this.

You haven't experienced true autism until you actually start liking fan characters.

Everytime I expressed my dislike that Ian Flynn was back on board and would prefer a new guy take a shot, I got called a shit poster and the only thing I was doing was encouraging a Ken Penders 2.0 to take the reigns. It's like these people worship Flynn and anything not Flynn is immediately a Penders in the making. Don't ask me what the logic behind those defenders, I don't know. What I do know is that there were many back when this shit was announced and into the first few issues. Whether that tied change afterwards I don't know. I got hired of the comic and the community that hovered around it.
>>pretty pictures and funny faces is world building
You're dumb as shit if that's all you took from my posr. It's a fun little adventure story showing you the world of Sonic the Hedgehog. In that short 3 issue story, it establishes the relationships with his friends, the bizarre locations his world is made up of, and the kinds of dangerous that exist. It's not complex, it's incredibly simple, and the pacing is quick enough that it doesn't bore you with mundane details and concepts that simply don't matter this early in the story. It's a perfect starting off point to build more stories out of later and for audiences to jump in.
"BUT SEGA'S MANDATES!" is the go to defense line whenever someone criticizes Flynn's work. I don't even know what they are. I am certain they exist, it is a licensed product after all, and given the history if the comic, I'm not surprised they are a thing. But most people make it out to be as this super restrictive thing that's impossible to get around. Sonic not going completely off model in expressions or is not something I would consider a horrible mandate.

The pay isn't good enough for competent people to bother. No, for real, that's the main problem. In the games, all the good programmers and designers abandon ship and work at Nintendo. In the comics, only mediocre writers and diehard fan artists even bother because the pay is complete shit.

I always called Flynn a hack and I, without fail, got attacked by his defense force. IDW has really made it so even his fanboys are having a hard time defending him.

Too bad she's a mary sue

Ask /sthg/ how long people have been complaining about the comic in the thread.

I pretty much gave up on interacting with any Archie Mega Man threads because how defensive people got about any criticism of the writing or pacing.

Less a hack, more perpetually stuck behind beginner writing blocks. The man seems perfectly capable of writing good stories and has written a good dozen or two in his time, but he has some strange need to fill out a checklist first for his "serious" stuff. It's weird. Like, if it's a goofy spinoff book he can write perfectly competent stuff, but the second it's the MAIN Sonic book or the MAIN plotline in Mega Man, oh shit, now it's time to rehash the same outline for six months while ticking off the boxes for video game elements.

His dialogue's always been bad, though.

At least Proto Type was good, and 2/3 of the final issues. I'll never understand why he thought jerking off coulda-woulda-shouldas for an entire issue was a great idea for the finale. He could have just done a little art jam with one of the illustrators on the side afterwards.

Do you seriously thinking the userbase of Twitter even comes close to the likes of Facebook? Trending means most traffic, not most people.

Why the fuck would I ask the same people that told me to fuck off that? That's basically me telling them I told you so and them lying that they always agreed with me. Go fuck yourself.

What, you guys didn't enjoy how he practically recycled his Mega Man turns evil plotline from his MM1 adaption during the MM2 adaption? Complete with the terrible pacing, shit dialogue and complete lack of tension?

Because /sthg/ has grown to hate Flynn. Check the archive or go there again and ask.

This same thread is on Yea Forums ....

/sthg/ is so burned by IDW that they have now become a fancomic appreciation general.

And that's a good thing!

cringe as fuck.

The Flynn defenders have either left or changed their tune.

I thought people considered Archie Mega Man shit?

Most of the Archiefags are gone bro. The only ones left all ran away to cripplechan /sthg/.

They've GROWN to hate Flynn. That's the key word here. They were kissing his ass and shitting on opposers back when the rumors of IDW picking it up were a thing. You absolutely will not convince me that this wasn't the case back then and that people always vocally hated Flynn. You won't fool me and I won't let you forget. Just throw up your hands and admit you were fucking wrong.
No, I'm still sober enough to shit post on the clock.

Not that user, but what is so bad about it to make that happen? I was planning on reading it eventually.

>Spends three issues building up to the evil Mega Man plot line to the point the robot masters have like two pages each if they aren't named Quick Man.
>Resolve it in 3 pages in issue 4.

Attached: 1553796497449.gif (500x580, 644K)

I don't even care about that, I'm still pissed that Wily Alien was two pages and like ten whole issues are the exact same story repeated over and over. Every single robot master was done exactly the same way.

No you are right, sorry.

Is he actually genuine or just trolling? I thought he was joking but he pulled out a huge stack of sonic comics he made as a kid with similar shit in it.

It's more boring than bad. You can read it and feel nothing.

No, people only turned on Archie Mega Man after it got cancelled and they realized the comic faffed about for almost 5 years and still didn't get to Mega Man 4.

They should have done a time skip for fucks sake.

Archiefags are still on /sthg/ but most hate IDW.
Even /fast/ does not think IDW is anything above mediocre.

The complete lack of content and variation. It's 15 issues deep and about 12 of them follow the same outline. Sonic and a pal beat up a bunch of robots and we tease a future issue, the end. It's so vanilla it makes advercomics look ambitious, and at $4 a pop people are starting to get sick of it.

I forgot my James Woods reaction image.
That's great and all, but I am speaking about his dick sucking defenders of the past. You must at least agree those days were filled with obnoxious blind defenders who had no interest in pushing the comic further, but to keep the status quo. That's a dangerous train of thought in anything really, especially in my children comic books that I enjoy as a wage slave adult. I'm sure you can all at least agree on that front.

Attached: hqdefault (1).jpg (480x360, 16K)

In hindsight.
There's good parts of it, but man is most of it just bad fluff. Dr. Light has the exact same debate three damn times for no good reason.

Remember when everything that was wrong with the comic was never not Ian's fault.

Oh it was the artist, oh it was the editor, oh it was SEGA/Capcom/Archie Corporate, oh it was the lawyers.

That was "fun".

There's still people defending him, and the problem with this frustrated "I-told-you-so"-ism is that it's just going to lead to things swinging back in the opposite direction, with people lambasting him on principle instead of actually assessing his work and figuring out what parts actually have merit and where his problems lie.

We can't have a decent discussion, especially with Sonic fans. It's either all dick sucking or all seething hatred.

you'd think a guy that's literally sonic but evil and green wouldn't get bullied by a bunch of goobers

You sound like a sad sack of shit.

I remember the times I always got into fights with them. Every time a character acted wrong, they'd say it's because the character was better written. When the dialog got bad, they'd say there was nothing wrong with it. When a story was clearly rushed or badly executed, they'd mention a few decent parts or post a panel of a "cool" moment and say that makes up for the entire thing. This could derail an entire thread.

I hated it from its initial issues. Maybe it's a bit unfair, but I had a bias to Ariga's Megamix series. Archie's Mega Man was just so poorly paced with adaptions going too fast because it crammed in useless concepts and filler stories being so boring because the world building it did was uninteresting as they focused on useless original characters that don't really blend in with the game cast. I still don't like Quake Woman and never will. Shit character, and shit design. In a series with a wide variety of robot master designs, they decide to give us a generic reploid body (yeah I know Reploids are X territory, piss off) with pony tails and a boring drill hand.

Everyone in the prison was wearing power dampening collars.

And he had a haircut.

Reminder that sally is a dead slut

One of the worst things about the comic. You have all these useless panels and pages centered on a shitty plot point that's not that interesting to begin with or was ever a thing from the games. This shit takes center stage and development time away from the other relevant characters that Mega Man could interact with, but no, check out this edgy so cool Murder Man page layout I planned that will certainly be reposted out of context on Twitter.

>not sideways
You had one job

What were you even trying to say? This such a poorly worded OP

>Too fast.
If anything I felt it was too slow. Instead it should have blown right the hell through game stories by slamming all the Robot Masters into big free-for-all brawls so they're established in an issue or two and free to use and continue developing later. Get your ass through Mega Man 7 by issue 20, you know? Then slow it down a bit and really soak in those characters, let them build dynamics and such.

It's funny you mention Tempo's design, Ian and Leah got real pissy back on +Yea Forums when people brought up how her design conventions and placement in the story didn't make any sense. She has reploid design qualities (aka, she's designed like Bass or X) despite having apparently been designed in that form before Rock ever was, and her naming conventions don't make much sense either. That and the Ice Man incest thing really peeved them.

I'd take fifty Quake Women over Xander if we're talking Mega Man OCs.

Gimme Greenleaf. He'd be a great excuse to introduce MM9's plot.

Archie Mega man had a ton of shit art during the filler stories. I would have preferred reading fucking fan comics at that point if they were going to give us terrible artist.

My only gripe with Flynn is that he can't close an arc to save his life. All the way back since Hedgehog Havoc. He has great build up but then prematurely blows his load and just sputters out conclusions

Actually, Hedgehog Havoc is a GREAT example.
>build up scourge as a planet level threat
>to the point where he goes super from negative chaos emeralds
>beats the absolute fuck out of everyone
>Sonic goads him into powering down and only then is it revealed that there is a major drawback to his powers based on a concept we had literally never seen established in game or comic
Since when the FUCK was there ever a small energy boost from powering down from Super Sonic? Back then, most of the time you fucking DIED because the atmosphere killed you. He didn't even bother to explain that bullshit til it happened

What the fuck

I'm absolutely sure you're talking shit about Chad Thomas, but he had some of the best layouts and composition in the entire book despite having a weird, "flat" art style.

>clang

A mistake. This is a fucking mistake. Sonic has gone through enough, but now we have a canon fuck scene because of Kek Penders. The comics are a fucking mistake. Holy shit, hahahaha, it's terrible.

Please don't sexualize my husband ever again.

Step aside for the king of all Mega Man OCs.
>That's Mega Man X! It doesn't count!
Piss off

Scourge's super form was supposed to be the opposite of Sonic's.

Super Sonic: Has a limited time, but Sonic is still full of energy after he powers down.

Super Scourge: Can last as long as he wants it to, but if he powers down after an extended time has past it will tire him out or kill him.

>but Sonic is still full of energy after he powers down.
But he isn't, which is user's point. Sonic just goes back to normal after being heightened in strength. Why would Scourge's somehow make him tired when Sonic doesn't have any after effect? If we're going on "it's opposite" rules, why doesn't the super form make him weaker?

An actual good resolution would be to have Scourge make an offhand remark early on ("Why did I never think to do this before?!"), and follow it up with Sonic tricking him into dropping it and revealing a different reason for why he can't just turn it back on, like that he can only do it once, ever, compared to Sonic's "whenever the hell I feel like it".

Man you've really hit the bottom when you're being bullied by Rocksteady and Bebop.

>I hate doing different things, I hate trying anything new, I want everything to be the exact same in everything or else it's so goddamned bad and awful

Rian Johnson, please.

I recall several Sonic games where they barely ever interacted and those games are considered good to amazing. Why is it so horrible when a comic does it?

>Why would Scourge's somehow make him tired when Sonic doesn't have any after effect? If we're going on "it's opposite" rules, why doesn't the super form make him weaker?
It's not literal + and - opposite to the T; If that was the case, Scourge would be slow and have a completely different personality.

It goes simply: Sonic uses his super form and keeps his energy, Scourge uses his super form and loses his energy. Mostly because one has a limit, while the other doesn't, so one has to take more energy from the user than the other.

>I recall several Sonic games where they barely ever interacted and those games are considered good to amazing.
Name five.

If you're going to try something new, make sure the thing you're replacing it with is comparable or exceeds what came before it. Also, pick up the fucking pace.

I applauded it for being different!

Must be hard to have people disagree with you.

Attached: a bloo bloo bloo.jpg (540x403, 48K)

Sonic Adventure 2 (Sonic never even fights Eggman and was in the same room as him twice)
Sonic Colors (only fought at the very end and only two moments of interaction beforehand)
Sonic and the Black Knight (Eggman's not even in it)
Sonic Rush Adventure (Eggman's only at the very end)
Sonic Rivals (Sonic's after Eggman Nega)

Oh man, I forgot about this guy. His stuff was really cool. Is he still around at all?

The salt over Tempo and Greenleaf is still funny.

>Sonic Rivals
>Good to Amazing
Try again. I don't even like half of those but I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt here. Just one more.

Explain for people who don't know.

/fast/ is like 10 people max.

/sthg/ liked Ian because their whole general for 2 and half years were pretty much dedicated to the Archie comics (mostly because /sthg/ only exists because of the ride) AND that he showed up there quite often and answered questions and shit, so they treated him like a god since he acknowledged them. There were people who didn't like the direction of the post-reboot and his writing, though. Especially towards the end where I constantly saw the opinion of wanting the Unleashed arc to end already and how poorly the second Mega Man crossover was handled.

Nowadays (or rather the past 2 and half years) I haven't taken anything they say or do seriously anymore since after Forces/Mania's announcement that place's activity tripled, focus shifted, and has been filled with nothing but shitposting and baiting since.

Not that user, but the first Sonic Riders.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sonic_Rivals#Reception

You not liking it doesn't mean it wasn't good or well-received.

I mean I guess.

His website is still up. He's never made anything past Apogee. It's a shame, I enjoyed his take of the world of 21XX and would love an ongoing anthology series by him.

Attached: Screenshot_20190409-203256_Chrome.jpg (768x1323, 354K)

Critical reception isn't the same as fan reception or even public perception. Just look at Bioshock Infinite and Mass Effect Andromeda.

Rivals has always been kind of a joke.

>tfw Battle Lord Kukku XV will never show how perfect he is in the comics again

Attached: RCO007_1464243855.jpg (1988x3056, 1.99M)

Sonic Rivals was good. Fuck off.

>or be smooth with the lady birds

Even as a kid with nothing but a PSP in the mid-00s, I know you're full of shit. That game is fucking ass. 2's much better at least.

Personally, I thought it was awful. The entire series. I don't miss them. Screwed up Eggman Nega's origins, too.

Rivals 2 has one of THE best songs in all of Sonic.

youtube.com/watch?v=fZOzTdzqHv8&t

Anyone who disagrees can fight me. Right now.

I'm sure you enjoyed making AMVs with this, user.

The interaction with the powers is logical. The problem was that it was literally never established until that very point at which it became an asspull.

A bit off topic, but weren't Rocksteady and Bebop actually really fucking dangerous in the Turtles comics? I remember a bit where they tried to join up with some mutant gang, who turned on them because R&B were mutated humans instead of animals like the rest of the group. The two of them ripped the rest of the gang to bloody chunks without much effort. Their mutations are apparently top tier in-universe.

Sonic Rivals was the shit though

What's an AMV?

They were a lot smarter and a lot better at fighting in the comics. I can't remember what issue it was but they were both at a restaurant or something having a quiet dinner and a gang picked a fight with them to the point they both went berserk, and the Turtles showed up to see what was happening and said "Nope, not getting involved in this".

And yeah, I remember that arc, the leader of the group was a mutant cat who despised humans and humans who were mutated into animals.

Basically people bitching for years over Tempo’s design like here and being mad that Greenleaf, a purposefully dumb antagonist, was upstaged by a more active villain.

I want to FUCK Amy

Attached: 20190321_131006.jpg (818x818, 260K)

Those both seem pretty justified.
Tempo's design is trash.

What's wrong with her design?

Attached: tumblr_ouou6dXJv91qf7yhjo1_400.png (400x399, 96K)

In a series where every robot design reflects the aspects of that robot, she's a drilling/wavelength robot with no visual indication of that. You can make a case for how she's supposed to be Tempo first and foremost, but that just raises the question of why she didn't have tacked on components when she went by the name Quake Woman to reinforce this idea. Her design is also an anachronism, having several elements taken from Bass despite his design being Wily's attempt to improve Mega Man's design.

dragon's dogshitma
final fantasy 7
kingdom hearts 1
pokemon black and white and sequels
hollow knight
ftl
the last of us
uncharted
mass effect 2
far cry
diablo

So she's like Blues, Rock, and Roll, designed to be as human as possible first and tools and weapons second. I fail to see how that's so terrible.
>having several elements taken from Bass
What?
