Learn stamina management
If u want smooth experience prioritize a melee weapon skill immediately. At least 40 pts to start off or you'll just miss constantly
Starting with spear is good since spear is endurance so u can up your hp
don't bother, it's too late

Hahah, look at this absolute melee pleb faggot. REAL nerevarines go pure caster and own everything with PWNAGE custom spells.
before you go to caius, kill every mudcrab, slaughterfish, rat, kwama forager and scrib in seyda neen with your preferred choice of weapon
Use OpenMW
(you)
Not him but why is this necessary?
Even if you don't plan to play a wizard, invest some skills into some magic. Not only is pure melee awfully boring, but you will also miss out on some of the most fun ways to break the game. Medium armor is rather weak compared to heavy or light armor, but it got style points.
Do the quests around Seyda Neen. They can really help you out early on. You will need silver weapons to hit ghosts. Or magic. Yes, walking is slow at the start. Invest some into agility and watch your stamina, or else you will miss constantly. At least 40 AGI at the start and a prefered weapon should be enough to not constantly miss.
Also if you have Tribunal installed you might get attacked early on when sleeping. Have fun, I wish I could play this for the first time again.
all you need to morrowind code patch and maybe mge xe if you want nicer graphics. i recommend the quick loot mod though, saves a lot of fiddling with the dog shit inventory system
skillgaining. if you want to be using a specific weapon, take that weapon and do all that. or use magic instead, or unarmed, whatever you wanna do.
Stamina affects accuracy. Don't sprint to near exhaustion and expect to swing a weapon effectively right after.
There are some basic mods you should get, but only get bugfixes and some conservative graphics related mods. Too many mods out there that don't stay true to the aesthetic.
I removed the download links for Morrowind GOTY Edition because I am so fucking tired of everyone talking about how great your old retarded RPG is. I've been preaching and preaching for three god damn years about why Bethesda is a fucking shitty company and flat-out evidence that they do not give any shits about their fanbase anymore.
If you hate new Bethesda like I do, get Outer Worlds like I did, and don't buy Skyrim. If you disagree, then I'm not going to help you anymore and you can show yourself out and neck yourself. I can no longer stand any further discussion about Morrowind, and pretty much Bethesda as a whole. I'm on the fucking verge of banning people on my main server for discussing Morrowind and it's super fucking awesome triple A, critically acclaimed, award winning, OLD DELUX game.
If you like Morrowind, you can buy your own games your god damn self and later realize how empty your faggot wallets are. Literally every one of my close friends is getting Morrowind and it's pissing me the hell off because they have been through several of my rants on why they should not ever get it.
They didn't listen, and neither do a lot of you.
If you hate the idea of action looking combat being decided by invisible dice rolls, you're going to hate it.
And I'm talking getting in their face and seeing your sword swing into them, but missing and doing nothing because Todd's invisible dice says you missed.
>people who honestly thought Outer Worlds was going to be the thing to take down TES
lol
>morrowind
Don't bother.
why would you need to do it before talking to him?
>Medium armor is rather weak compared to heavy or light armor, but it got style points.
No kidding huh
the royal guard armor is the best looking armor in the entire series and nobody has ever remade it
To assert dominance
i did download daggerfall gog version but it doesn't run properly, the mouse feels fucked and it keeps freezing, might give it another look tomorrow
I'm getting the urge to replay this (last time I played was 2009) but I want to wait until Tear from Tamriel Rebuilt is done, how much longer do you guys think it will take?
You want to be skilled in a weapon before you try going to balmora, lest some mob or NPC push your shit in because you can't hurt it or run away fast enough. You've also gotta get your skills up anyway so you might as well do it there so you have a head start. The dwemer dungeon is a dangerous place to get lost in when you're sent there.
see which races & classes raises the stats that interest you, you want at least a way to attack, long blade, medium blade, axe ect...it's nice to have a good stock
Restoration is pretty nice
spam jump, travel by foot as much as possible
have fun
>Tear
A long, long time. You can have Old Ebonheart right now though.
Pic is the state half a year ago.
Don't.
>people expected some in-depth RPG that hits the same notes as a Bethesda game
>it's a poorly animated slightly less linear bioshock clone with less skills than Fallout 4
Lol
What does OpenMW change?
Make sure your major skills include at least one weapon skill and Athletics. If you get frustrated by a low hit rate at the start take The Warrior as your sign and start as a Redguard with Long Blade major or a Wood elf with Short Blade and Marksman major. If low speed pisses you off, take The Steed as your sign instead. If you dont mind missing a lot at level 1-2 then take The Lady as your sign for boosted HP. Learn how to use all the different types of fast travel properly (silt striders, boats, mages guild porters, propylon indices, jump spells). Dont ever try to fight with low fatigue; carry around restore fatigue potions and scrolls or spells with you. Look at the lineware platter on the bookshelf in the census and excise office during character gen, open your inventory, then pick it up and drop it, then close your inventory. This will cause the guard to yell at you bit since it's the tutorial you wont get arrested and the platter will then be marked as "yours" so you can pick it up and sell it for a good stack of gold. Do the quest to get Fargoth his ring back for lower prices in the shop.
Imperial is the best race.
The lover is a great birth sign.
Iron saber you can find in Adamasartus is the best for practice.
Crusader is a fun class.
0. Go mage.
Don't even bother with melee or ranged combat.
1. Use teachers.
Learn how level up works so you can pump one stat up 5 points per level. There are quite a few things to spend gold to.
2. Master Mark, Recall and Intervention spells.
Whenever you are running low on anything, cast mark and Intervention.
2a. Better yet, make enchanted items to use Mark and Intervention.
2b. Never mark your "home". Mark the place you've just been.
3. Search all the boxes on the streets. It's ok.
4. Better not break the law. It's bothersome in one way or another.
5. Pretty much every direction in the game is precise. If one tells you to go west untill you see a sign you may walk miles before you see that sign.
Bonus.
You can move twice as fast if you move diagonaly.
Gemabreaking bonus.
Choose Atronach sign; whenever low on mana cast intervention and prey to restore attributes - some effects will be absorbed and your magic will be fully restored.
whole new engine that runs way better on the modern PCs than the .exe from 2002
It makes things more stable and can have higher draw distance.
Mods work with it, but not the ones that require MWSE.
You can buy an iron saber from Seyda Neen's shop too.
>prey
I sincerely appologise for that typo.
*pray
>Native support for macOS, Linux, and Windows
>Improved physics and AI
>Distant terrain
>Save/Load dialogs organized by character
>Quality of life UI improvements, such as being able to search for spells
>Multiple quicksaves
>World map adjusts automatically to fit new landmass from mods such as Tamriel Rebuilt
>Support for up to 2147483646 loaded mods (up from 255 in the original Morrowind engine)
>Since it was made from scratch, virtually no engine bugs from the original Morrowind
And more
I never buy something I can get for free, without too much of a hassle.
Not much in gameplay, but it makes Morrowind run much more smoothly and at modern resolutions. Near-zero load times toom
sounds good. thanks
Get a levelling mod, pick redguard male, then any class with long blade as major skill. Bards have Long Blade and Athletics. You shouldn't have any problems.
how the framerate? i can't get morrowind to go higher than like 70frames in towns on a decent modern pc i should be getting hundreds. this is with the code patch
You need decent agility to not be slapped onto your knees, baby please.
It costs like 5 gp
do people seriously pick premade classes in TES?
HOW DO I BEAT THIS ASSHOLE
Started a new game and for some reason my spam attacks do practically no damage. Even after console commanding my stats up and over 100 I have to hold the mouse for a second to hurt anyone. Is this OpenMW? I have several hundred hours logged on this game, no clue what this is about.
Oh shit, it's so cool seeing all the mods combined like that, really puts things into perspective. Quite a bit of progress on Skyrim, I see.
I'm finally biting the bullet and learning to mod.
Can I transfer my save from Morrowind over to this port?
Running uncapped 1600x900 fullscreen in Vivec with farthest view distance, minimal mods, and a shitty laptop nvidia card. 90-110 fps
It's really amazing how far the project has come, looks like Morrowind is over 50% done
Nigga why aren't you killing the witch?
What. I didn’t really see any mobs or anything to do in the beginner area so I left for balmor on the silt strider
What the FUCK was his problem?
I need to fight him anyways for the Cloudcleaver, right? Unless it's not that good?
Play vanilla, don't touch any mod until you finish the main quest.
die, fetcher
go find a gf instead idiot
it's not that good
