>Y-YOU WEREN'T THERE
Is this the worst defense for a game that has aged poorly?
Y-YOU WEREN'T THERE

Game plays the same as it did when it came out. It was fun then, still fun now.
Did this really need a thread you stupid faggot?
Shit sorry, wrong image.
I played the 3D remake and it was fine
inb4 the nintendo preschool hijacks this thread with cringe
it's not a defense, what the fuck are you even talking about.
fpbp
oot has aged pretty well actually
even if you want to say it didnt, the 3ds remake is superb
>defense

The worst argument for games aging poorly is that games literally can't age, it's the same now as it ever was.
Just the sheer amount of fucking stupidity someone has to have to put forward that argument is staggering.
And quite ironically this is the only cringe post itt.
>plays one of the best games of 1998
>criticizes it with modern standards
to achieve what exactly?
Should we criticize Caesar as a general because he didn't use tanks in land warfare?
Yes because you could use elephants as tanks.
Idk man, I think it's aged damn well. I played it for the first time a year ago and had a blast. Atmosphere's great, gameplay is tight, dungeons are fun. The time travel mechanic is also pretty cool. Only thing you could really have against it is the N64-era graphics, but I'm fond of those too because muh nostalgia.
why wouldn't you judge a game objectively by current date?
he did use tanks though
you stupid bitch
Posts like these make me appreciate my time here.
>he wasn't there
Sorry for you
No one says that. Instead they say "this is the best game of all time", which is factually and objectively true. Picture related.

how the hell did people complete rpg games as a kid? was i retarded?

It has kind of aged, and considering a lot of games nowadays use innovations on top of tropes spurred by Ocarina, OoT feels primitive in comparison. But, it's still good fun.
1. There should be either a semicolon or a full stop after "4channel" in the first sentence. Not a comma.
2. "Racism", "Sexism" etc. should not have capital letters. This isn't German, this is English. Nouns are not capitalised unless they're proper nouns, like "London", "Google", "Donald Trump", etc.
i love these posts
this except the game was garbage in 1998 and it is still garbage in 2019
1. It's not an RPG, it's an action-adventure game.
2. It came out when I was 7 and I think I did complete it within the next few years. I think I relied on information from my brother playing it though (he's 18 months older than me).
>correcting grammer on 4channel
>I'm taking this quote but instead I'm rewriting it with the opposite meaning. T-that'll show them!
Yep, I don't understand the hate, I never got the chance to play it on 64 but played it a while later on GC. I replayed it recently on DS and it held up, then my nephew played it when I was done and he loved it.
It hasn't though, considering all 3D action adventure games still copy OOT. The Souls games are literally OOT combat plus rpg stats. OOT's only problem is how empty and easy it is compared to LTTP.
>I can't form my own opinion so I require "journalists" to tell me what to think
yikes
>The Souls games are literally OOT combat plus rpg stats
Have you even played either of these games or are you just pretending?
Fuck off
>people still preferring OoT over MM
I wasn't there and it's one of the best games I've ever played

Stop the presses!
It's here, you motherfuckers: youtube.com

You are one dumb motherfucker
why did it take so long for someone to post this?
Because Yea Forums is realizing ironic contrarianism isn't funny anymore

Fromsoft & Rockstar said that every 3D game is a clone of Mario 64 & Ocarina in some way
That doesn't mean that the combat is the same or even similar
Has it really aged poorly? I played it two years ago, start-to-finish, and the only controls I had issues with were the manual first-person aiming which feels inaccurate and imprecise. The actual combat controls feel pretty good even to this day. The puzzles are still good too, certainly not more dated than LTTP or any of the gameboy games are.
>Has it really aged poorly?
No. It's still good
reminder that a game capped at 20fps WITH DROPS on the original hardware is not acceptable
I didn't play this game as a kid and only recently beat it and thought it was amazing. Fuck you OP
It's not a defense.
The game is perfectly playable and good now, decades after it was released.
But if you didn't play it when it came out, there is something that is forever lost.
Same thing with playing Mario 64 when it came out, or Soul Calibur 2 on the Dreamcast.
The only difference is that this really is the best game of all time, and if you didn't play it in its time you will never understand. The moment has passed. Hopefully if a game ever tops it, you will play it in time.
Reminder that it's STILL the highest rated game of all time.
>hey look guise xD i'm so cool and alternative for pretending to dislike critically acclaimed video games guise xD
I've only played ever played the 3ds version, and I wasn't impressed with it. Pretty boring compared to windwaker.
Mario 64 DS was less memorable than the original to me, too though, so some day I want to play the 64 version of OOT on a TV screen, and see if it's a better experience.
It's not about playing OOT on a crt, the moment has passed.
The full experience was playing it in its time and getting your mind absolutely blown by how amazing and innovative it was.
Honestly there are people posting here who literally weren't even alive when OoT came out, that's disgusting and their opinions are worth less than shit. If I EVER see one of those little zoomer cucks posting I will break their fucking necks.
It was a different era, in order to get high framerates you had to look like a jaguar game
OoT has aged faaaaar better than a lot of famous old games, it's just almost all of it's 3D Zelda successors are superior games so OoT's flaws stand out. I would still enjoy it if I replayed it right now, which is more than I can say for something like Super Mario 64, but given the chance, I'd always pick something like Majora's Mask or Twilight Princess to replay instead of Ocarina.
>Fromsoft
when
I played it in like 2014, on glitchy emulator and with chinkshit controller, and I still think it's great
>my opinion is worth more because i was born earlier
okay grandpa, take your medicine
THE FUTURE IS NOW BOOMER
