wow it's black
What's the point of hacking NASA anyway?
its goatse newfags
Thats a distorted image of a glory hole
Too small
>anything NASA puts out
>real
I wanna fuck it.
please just end earth already Im tired as hell
>Black hole
>Visible to the human eye
It's not the blackness that is visible.

So scientists are happy cause the black hole theory has been proven?
You still didnt describe what this is about. We already know theyre releasing an image.
So what is it about?
They've been proven for a long time, but never directly imaged
black holes are bullshit and we never went to the moon, get over it.
Data miners ruined this too? When will the police do something about these spoiling criminals??
So at most they'll confirm what weve already theorized, time is weird around black holes?
Captain America dies in Endgame.
So how did those white flags appear on the moon then?

Impressive, truly impressive. Why do these hacks get millions of dollars again?
who gives a fuck
where's my FULL DIVE
Because niggers take the billions
For those that don't know, there is an object so big in space that all of immediate known space is being slowly dragged towards it. Scientists call this phenomenon The Great Attractor.
That's a great name for my dick, and your mom.
>The Great Attractor
Is it going to be the factor that results in the inevitable Big Crunch?
lies
We don't know. We don't even know what in particular it is. It's possible that it's a super-supermassive black hole but there's literally supercluster in the way of viewing it. Horrifying to think about. The whole black hole OP post made me think about it. Never forget just how insignificant humans are.
in english, doc!
I was gonna make that joke myself but I wanted to make a serious post about a serious thing.
Whatever gets your rocks off, my guy.
I mean, every spiral galaxy is theorized to have a super massive blackhole at their center. Thats what the one in OP's pic is, the super massive for the Milky Way.
Its also theorized that the center of the universe itself, ground zero for the big bang as it were, is filled with several blackholes, to the point that space and time is distorted to fucking hell and back
>NASA
>EHT
good thread
kill yourself pop sci faggot, the great attractor is galactic cluster obscured by our own
>The Great Attractor
> X-ray observations have revealed that the region of space is dominated by the Norma cluster (ACO 3627),[5][6] a massive cluster of galaxies containing a preponderance of large, old galaxies, many of which are colliding with their neighbours and radiating large amounts of radio waves.
It's "just" an unusually large collision of neighbouring galaxies which drives the total mass up. Didn't read anything about "immediate known space is being slowly dragged towards it" though.
Daily reminder that the Event Horizon Telescope is an interferometery array. Aka, these are not real pictures but computer generated images based off computer models that use the “interference pattern” of various radio wave signals captured by various antennas throughout the world that are part of this array. They take the data and they look at how the signal differs at each angle and work backwards to deduce the shape of the object they’re measuring. The reason why they are using interferometry is due to the fact that there is a lot of matter surrounding the supermassive black holes at the galactic centre and it’s basically impossible to see through that fog of dust and stars. The only way is to find the faint signature of it within the radio wave static that comes out of there.
So it is fake, i knew it

>some blurry image
>"groundbreaking result"
yaaaaaaaaawn.
it's gonna be groundbreaking shit when some numale incel brings a humanoid AI to the stage
The Big Crunch theory posits that super clusters like those making up and surrounding the Great Attractor will pull each other in and combine, just as the Great Attactor's nature suggests. Which will inevitably result in other clusters being pulled into THAT, followed by galactic cluster, followed by galaxies
you dumb subhuman plebeian, this has been explained a gorrillion times for you pigdogs.
it's not the event horizon that is visible, it's the gas in the accretion disk.
Good post and informative post, but don't expect contrarian incels to understand half of it.

Fuck you, no one plays video games on Yea Forums
OP is fag confirmed
I wanna cage her(male) cock and fill his(female) guts with my hate paste.
Looks like my bf's bussy when I take the plug out he's been wearing all day at his college.
Isn't the big crunch the most hopeful theory? Everything combining once again into a singularity and (hopefully) making a new big bang eventually?
It sure beats "the big chill" which is just everything extinguishing and even atoms breaking down in the foreverness.
DO I need to fucking slap you?
LOOK. AROUND. This is where video games have brought us. It's time to wake up.
I have never heard that called the big chill before, why do people keep making up new terms for established theories?
i will shit down your throat, the """"big crunch"""" has been disproven since the 90s stop reading numale articles
>The most hopeful
Mate, there IS no hopeful theory, because no matter how the universe dies, all known creation is dead
You wont have any descendants surviving into the next universe, there wont be any resemblance to our current universe. Shits fucked no matter how you view it
what is this?
the great attractor?
Do you mean the "observations" that the universe expansion is accelerating? Something they disproved yet again 5 years later?
The black hole in the center of our galaxy
Woah, the same fucking image i'm pretty sure we've seen dozens of times in the past already. A grainy shit blurry photo of nothingness and swirls. Wow! Thanks NASA!
OMG THIS! SO MUCH THIS! I FUCKING LOVE SCIENCE!
Who's the girl?
then what's up with the galaxies flying around it?
Seems like there are few synonyms:
>Perhaps the most likely possibility, however, based on current knowledge, is a long, slow decline known as the "Big Freeze" (or the “Big Chill” or “Heat Death”). In this scenario, the universe continues expanding and gradually “runs down” to a state of zero thermodynamic free energy in which it is unable to sustain motion or life.
That's a given but the universe possibly continuing in a cycle is still a more pleasant thought than going on forever without anything "happening" after x years drifting apart.
I'm not sure how implosion would even be possible, given that the universe is still expanding outward from every single point of reference within said universe; even supermassive black holes don't have the power to pull it back in, from our point of reference the far edges of the universe are likely moving at thousands of times the speed of light, because the expansion occurs everywhere. absolute entropy is the final stop, folks.
Not a spoiler. We all already knew that.
it's a tranny. One of my favourites.
Not gonna tell you the name, it's time to learn how to google. It's like knowing how to count to 3 at this point.
it's cool
Nature, deep sea threads and space engine threads are the most comfy on Yea Forums
The universe doesn't have a center. It expanded from a point. It's like saying a blown baloon has a center on its surface.
That's just the current most plausible theory done by observing shit from earth and orbit mostly. Hardly a limit we're unable to overcome in a "near" future.
What's the story here? Is this a real photo?
