Here's a suggestion.

Everyone starts off with an empty minimap upon spawn that fills out as you explore a map respective to individual party members. Locating chests, shrines/ items and teles will note them on the map but only pinging them will allow you to share their locations locations with others. Do you think it would be a universally useful addition to people or is it throwing too much of a bone?

I think something might have gone wrong with decompiling, because I don't see how it's supposed to work in vanilla. Since it works in honor, I'll just make it pick a random index for every single monster as it currently does for honor

I didn't make sacrifice, that's how base game does it.
I think it's the best way to do it, since I can't think of any other way that keeps track of
a) how far you are in the game (unless you think that should be irrelevant)
b) whether they're elite or not
c) how "strong" the monster's base type is (for example beetle vs imp vs greater wisp vs overloading wurm)

if the general consensus is that that is too strong, I guess I could also do other amounts, but I'm not sure exactly how the scaling would work out

since it's x5 damage but x0.1 hp, that doesn't have a direct correlation to x1 damage x1 hp

doing x1 damage x0.5 hp is stupid, so is x2 damage x0.25hp
if I ignore the offset from similar game (for example x5 damage x0.2 hp) I think people would definitely call it easy mode

Out of the 3 kinds of elites (overloading, frost and fire) that normally spawn, only fire elites spawn (whenever it does spawn an elite). So I just straight up never see overloading or frost enemies ever. If there's something in the console that I fucked up, then feel free to let me know.

sniper's utility is just commando's, so it' slikely a placeholder
the R just reloads the gun (not even any timing interaction or whatever, just reloads it), whereas bandit has it happen automatically when he doesn't fire for however long it takes to reload.

as far as I can tell, in the vanilla game it only calculates what affix to give when the character card is null.
I changed it so that it refreshes it when it's honor or when the character card is 0. This would allow different elite types in the same "pack" during honor, which I felt like made more sense for honor artifact.

but it turns out charactercard is never null, so it never sets it & always uses the default, which is 0 which correlates to red affix (burning)

Big shift from 2d to 3d. Teleporters now only require boss(es) are killed, but also that you remain within a certain radius of the teleporter for X amount of time. There's a greater emphasis on mobility with everyone able to move and shoot. While it's still in its early stages, the groundwork that has been laid out has been very solid and has plenty of challenges that will take some time.

Have you never seen the worm AI get stuck? It happens alot, particularly on Abyssal Depths if the tele is near a wall or if the player moves near one.
The Worm will essentially never move and infinitely cycle in the same way where it hides itself in the wall almost permanently.
Its really annoying and can kill a run regardless of class because the boss becomes almost unhittable

Merc gameplay is very fun and incredibly visceral but you're right that he falls off quickly later on.

i've literally played this game for 50 hours and i haven't seen this once. it's certainly not common enough of a bug to just say "the AI is bad, worm doesn't translate to 3d!"

based on what you're saying, it sounds like avoiding this glitch is really simple, just don't hug walls when a worm is spawned. it's certainly not a crippling enough bug that it should be regularly ruining runs

The Engineer stands in a weird spot. He either counts as 3 characters in one if you get a good build or he's borderline useless. Without the right items your turrets get one shot by half the enemies in the game and you can't kill anything in a timely manner. On the other hand, if you get those items you can plop your boys down and sprint in a circle and win

Why is it so difficult to admit the boss AI in an EARLY ACCESS game is retarded?

I can't go back to kbm anymore. I tried Doom on mouse and it felt stupid, like I was just clicking on monsters heads while with gamepad I felt much more involved even if a bit less precise. Rumble also a huge difference. RoR2 plays great on pad maybe with exception of Merc.

If you get a good build he can count as 2.5 characters on his own, turrets (when their AI doesn't fucking break and get you killed) endlessly shoot with perfectly acuracy which allows you to simply drop them down, drop your bubble and run away and they sit in there for 20 seconds spraying everything to death. However, if you don't get TONS of specific items your turrets die in one or two hits from bosses and you're stuck running away for 40 seconds

i assumed your first point meant that his damage is excessive and getting hit gets you killed too quickly or something; in any case, artificer and her lack of mobility, and engie with his largely stationary playstyle make them easy targets for worm so you're still wrong. on the fourth point, you're implying that it takes a long time to kill the worm which is wrong; unless your build is bad, he shouldn't take any longer to kill than imp. if your build is bad, all bosses are tanky, big whoop

2.5x / 0.2x? so one glass pickup would get you back to the current modifier assuming the multipliers work like that. glass runs for me usually have enemies dying on spawn until 10-15 minutes when a elite lesser wisp snipes and infusion/personal shield don't help enough. maybe we'll get new good defensive item options like transcendence stacks

Yeah watched a couple skilled runs on yt and that helped a bit. And i switched to drizzle, thought you can't unlock items on it but it seems like you can (that misleading note saying progress is not saved duh).

I dont know if the shield works like this or not but it should tank any amount of damage and not "bleed" over to your actual health. So lets say you have 500 health and 300 shields. If you take 400 damage it should deplete your shields but still tank that extra 100 damage, leaving your actual health unchanged. This would buff it against single hard hitting attacks but still keeps you vuneralable to any rapid fire attacks.

1 press of R nukes the entire map, Not that I even needed to press a button at this point. Then practically every blazing enemy turns into a phantom because of four 57 leafs.

If you're not used to roguelike/lites then one of the bigger hurdles is learning not to get too attached to a run. The whole point is to play it hundreds or thousands of times and you're going to get overpowered in most of those. Don't worry too much about having one good run and having to abandon it. It kinda hurts cuz you're having fun, but it's no big. You'll get hundreds more.

some thoughts on current items. if it's impossible to do these from a modding standpoint just let me know

maybe early on it's nothing to scoff at. but as the game drags on it quickly becomes pointless to stack them because the benefit is so minor. same with medkit and monster tooth. you need like 50 of those to be worth it, and at that point why even bother getting them in the first place. the only way they are good is in glass mode because overall health is much lower so they have a much larger impact.

Also the chat is quite difficult to notice when there's action going on and stopping to type can get you fucked, as is pinging (which is also ambiguous as to who you are pointing an item out to) so the in-game options for pug coordination are limited. Taking more than your share of boss loot is crossing the line though and makes you an omninigger.

I feel like Monster Tooth was a bit of a kneejerk reaction to how good it was in RoR1.

More attack speed -> more attacks -> more procs. Syringe literally buffs all of your on hit items.
Mags also good on him, in late game you can just fly around throwing bombs like B-52.

Drizzle is good for a laugh, even if it is too easy.

I got one, but I have no idea what it did, probably some burn damage.
It leaves a trail of fire, which is the best part.

They're useful but not a priority, once your rebar puncher is attacking without needing to be charged you have enough attack speed (but more doesn't hurt just don't sacrifice too many on-hits if you can help it).
Magazines are good and daggers are good.

Honestly the game feels like it went EA too early, if there were like 3 more enemy types and 3 more items I feel it would be 100% better.

Just my speculation but since it was reported above that Wake of Vultures give you fire immunity if you steal fire aspect from elite it's only natural to assume you get same result with actual fire aspect item.

MUL-T main here, I think the damage need was too far (requiring double the amount of rebar shots on lemurians and beetles at level 2 is a huge nerf) but his movespeed absolutely needed to be dropped to be in line. Early game was absolutely braindead since dodging was incredibly easy even while shooting

There's a huge difference between easy and being unable to beat, everything needs to be possible with every class at least with the right items.

wait to charge your M2s until it's in peak jump so you can hit it on the way down, then flamethrower the bitch as it comes up and on the way down as well. using the max range of flamethower allows you to poke at it while keeping yourself from being burnt. getting up to a higher part of the map can help also.

Solo drizzle to learn the layout of the stages one or two times, then do whatever you want.

the best way to deal with it is to get him to dive near a group of enemies and abuse aoe shit like ukes and wisps
without a big stack of that shit theres no fast way to do it, his jump arc is way too high and he spends Z E R O time underground so its pretty much impossible to predict where hes gonna surface
