Why aren't you playing one of the Sakura Taisen games right now?
Why aren't you playing one of the Sakura Taisen games right now?
I'm in the process of learning Japanese currently. When I consider myself fluent (not native level) then I'll consume. I'd like to be able to understand what I hear.
Wow, pretty shocking to see someone with this correct mindset on Yea Forums.
Of course consuming content is a good way to learn, but most faggots in DJT can't phantom the idea of waiting and ruin everything for themselves.
DJT is just eceleb shit on /jp/ idk about /int/. I just study when I can during the day while still maintaining a full time work schedule so I go about it with tempered and slow expectations.
They are bad games I regret playing.
You're a bad game.
see you in 10 years
But this delays the hugs for years.
Because I already played them on Dreamcast but someone moved my Dreamcast so I've got to look that up first.
kys ankidrones
Lmaoooo I dont use anki you fucking idiot. 2 of your replies are to me and I don't use anki for shit.
Are you braindead?
Reading stuff where you have to spend ten minuts on one sentence, plus anki is the DJT way. My post makes fun of DJT faggots. Make the connection, you ankidrone.
Dreamcast is gay. Play the PC versions.
Because the only one worth playing hasn't been released yet.
>Spends years studying Japanese abroad
>A decade later, he realizes how much of a pain in the ass it is
Imagine if you put that much effort into medical science, you would at least benefit in some meaningful way.
>Reading stuff where you have to spend ten minuts on one sentence
How the hell are you going to learn to read otherwise, by reading shonen manga and picture books for kids forever? You're going to have to learn to read real texts at some point, so you might as well get it out of the way right at the beginning.
Step by step. Graded readers exist for a reason.
That's not how children develop language skills. You're better suited to learn speaking fluently first then all of your vocab and grammar skills will transfer to reading skills naturally. Youre going about learning language backwards with the only really benefit being that you can consume VNs right away.
I learned japanese the same way I did english, by playing a shit ton of video games and reading comics. Of course I didn't understand everything the first time through, but it's not like there's anything stopping me from reading stuff multiple times and discovering the things that I didn't understand/thought I understood the first time through.
The point is to not do that prematurely and overwhelm yourself.
Children develop language skills by getting overwhelmed by speech and text everywhere around them that they can't understand for years. They get used to it soon enough.
Language is spoken not written. A language is considered dead if it is only written and not spoken. If you want to learn a language you should learn a language first and then its written representation sometime later, like natives do. Of course you can read and move on and go back but I find this backwards and only mildly productive. You could make major strides in listening and speaking and then later reading will come incredibly incredibly easy.
You're not a child.
But it worked at the time.
Luckily, a lot of lines in Sakura Taisen are both written on screen and spoken by the VAs.
Wow, peak soul.
