Even though this seems fun in concept I can't even think where a fight with a huge monster became remotely fun. It's always boss fights that just end looking like you're fighting against a stage with "defeat these four glowing parts first and then you can go for the head!". It's always something very gimmicky and unpleasant

Metro has some great designs but most encounters are against Nosalis and rats. I think OP wants something more like Skull Island as a game which would be pretty cool.

Also OP the reason we don’t see that is it’s probably a lot of effort to create such enemies and do so with diversity and good design choices/A.I./etc when zombies and other easy as fuck shit is much more popular.

Why bother making Skull Island when you can make Zombie Island and just have some of the zombies spit and some explode but they all share the exact same A.I. and models?

I mean EVEN IF you only play AAA trash you still got D44m and Prey and I don't know Apex Legends. That's better than anything I can remember since Bioshock. You'd be able to kill a monster in one shot if you line it perfectly on their particular weak spot - but will you be able to do that in the heat of the moment? So maybe you'll opt to magdump it instead, expending a lot of ammo for a single monster. But what if it's not dead yet? You need to reload; typically take out the magazine, put a full one in place (without mixing it up with an empty one), rack the bolt back and fire. And of course you'd need to refill the empty magazine later.
