I could not stealth deathblow on the first phase for the life of me, regardless of how quick I was, I never got the deathblow icon.

The cheese strats in this game are absolutely disgusting.

You don't even have to be that quick. You might even be too quick.

I tried waiting til the last possible moment too, and all moment's in between.
I saw the red circle ONCE, for all of literally one eighth of a second, over like 20 or so attempts.

Just make sure you stand slightly off to the right on the last branch from where you land, the Monk still detected me once when I stood still after the reaching the last branch.

Its was the second toughest fight after Isshin for me, but very enjoyable. I didnt know about the retarded deathblow exploit and didnt use the firecracker though. Last phase is the easiest, its probably the pressure getting to you

Go to another area and come back it will reset his awareness.

To be fair, her first two phases are pretty much the exact same thing you already fought with the illusion fight, only easier, because she doesn't have nearly instant posture regen on the first two levels of vitality damage. You shouldn't really be dying outside of the actual illusions attack in phase 2.

You can actually stealth kill Monk in village as well.
