I'd like to play modded FF7 but I don't want to use 7th Heaven. It's buggy and unreliable as fuck, I've had to uninstall and reinstall 3 times already. Are there any alternatives?

Both. I liked being able to keep Aeris alive in New Threat and there's some very nice re-textures on the Nexus

lots of the stupidity in the games story is the fault of the translation, the translators literally fucking put the "whatever...." meme in when they were too lazy to actually translate squalls insights. Obviously the stupid shit with the GFs and orphanage still exist, but a lot of the games bad rep comes from a bunch of stuff that was the fault of the translators.

Also all the hatred of the drawing system was so overblown its actually unreal, the very idea of FF8 being bad is a meme, the game is actually excellent in a lot of ways, perhaps has the strongest soundtrack in the series, the best pacing of nearly every game in the franchise, and the most addicting mini game known to man. It's pros far outweigh its cons

I could never jive with those difficulty mods. They always add a bunch of brand new fanon shit. All they need to do is make enemies do more damage and have more health, that's it.

Imo, the story was fucky, the draw system was tedious but manageable but worst of all the main cast was boring and unlikable. The game would have been infinitely better if we had had Laguna and his bros for the bigger part of the game.

Japan loves its melodrama and exaggerated theatrics. All of it looks endearing in 2D or early 3D, but if you look at the mocap in FFXV you get an unsettling feeling. FFXV's hyperrealistic artistic direction doesn't gel with anime zaniness.

I mean, the whole game is a badly coded mess. Making the jump from 2d->3d and a new storage system that necessitated multiple discs just means that naturally there'll be a lot more leftover, forgotten, or broken bits like that.

For all this game does that makes it memorable from world building, characters, story, there's an altogether unique vibe just in how it uses vertex shading and that distinct string MIDI font. Aesthetic as fuck.

Got this game on Xbone last week and had a load of fun. All the glitches are still in it, and triple speed is a God send. Honestly don't think they'll be able to remake it, but tempted to get 9 afterwards. Had 10 for years but couldn't get into it. Is 15 still trash?
