Did anyone else lose all will to play this after hearing about all the additions to the switch version? Hopefully they release it as DLC on steam.

>release as DLC
you fucking wish buddy. you either get on the switch train or get hit by it, your choice.
Pretty much. Too many games right now anyway, putting this one off helps.
no because there's barely anything new in it
It's just way too fucking long. I loved the relative quickness of DQ5 but 11 is like 5x longer
Yes. I am mostly annoyed about the orchestrated soundtrack.
DLC is unlikely, a full rerelease is possible though.
Knowing how Square deals with nier automata I doubt it
I see people complaining about XI having a midi soundtrack, but I don't understand. My game has an orchestrated ost right off the bat. I'm playing on PC, got it on Steam and am europoor. Did amerifats get a different (midi) version or something? What am I missing here?
Nintendo is publishing S in the west so good luck with that
you modded it and forgot
My bad. Looked up some videos with the actual orchestra version, and only now I noticed the difference. I played through the entire game with the regular soundtrack and it didn't really bother me, except for the overworld theme, which was just blasting repeatedly throughout the game, regardless of which part of the world you are in, and annoyed the shit out of me.
I honestly don't get why people would want to play a Dragon Quest game on anything but a handheld. They're the ultimate "pick up and play for an hour pr so" JRPG given the near episodic nature of their design, unless DQXI has something different going for it.
It is the all time worst overworld theme in any JRPG.
I don't want to play anything on a handheld.
I figure most people that played it finished it before we got switch details.
nah, it's just that when people say midi, I literally imagined the nes-tier dragon quest 1 music or something. The soundtrack definitely didn't sound like that, but it also didn'y bother me. Just now I looked up the orchestral version and noticed the significant difference. Didn't bother me before, but now it does kek.
The OST is awful in these games. It's not even the midi vs orchestral argument, the compositions themselves are just crap. The composer should have fucked off years ago, he's a hindrance
there were some tracks i liked but now i realize that every single one of them (except maybe the sylvando music and the world tree music) was from earlier entries
Agreed.
DQ2 has the best ending theme in JRPG history
DQXI made me realize how important music is to jrpgs.
Not really. I lost the will by playing the said game.
At first, I was disappointed because SquareEnix decided to keep the 3DS version in Japan. Fuck it, I liked the retro look. Downloaded the PC version, pirated, and gave up after 10 hours; I was just not in the mood to play it. Then, SquareEnix announced Switch S version, with all those nice bonuses while, at the same time, reducing the price of Steam version to 30 euros.
Hm... I said fuck it, I will buy it. Why not? I have nothing to play atm, 30 euros in not much. I mean, if the game is good I will buy it twice. Why not? I have Steam version for best graphics, orchestra mod, and Switch version for portability and ''SNES'' graphics. It won't be the first time I bought 2 or more versions of the same game.
Nope. The game is just as bad as it was when I played pirated version. Starts meh, becomes really good when you get the ship, and then chapter 2 starts. At least the game was challenging with those dragovian challenges, I guess that's a pros. I just want my 60 hours back.
Nope. Played the PC version with the music mod and it was fantastic.
