Obviously this isnt the reason most people love the game (mods are for the masterrace) but it's why I love skyrim despite its many faults. The mod community for skyrim is just so fucking big that whatever issues you have with the game can be fixed if you look hard enough. And the amount of content available through mods is just ridiculous, no other rpg is comparable in that sense.

Nothing in that image says "Skyrim is good".
It says "Skyrim still has players and is discussed after 8 years and is single player". That is objectively true.
It also says "Not many games are still relevant after 8 years", which is also true. You can probably name some of them - DOOM, Brood War, CS 1.6, Garry's Mod, TF2, Terraria, Minecraft. Probably others on console too. But that still leaves literally thousands of games that are #ded.
Now, what do these long-lasting games have in common? They're user-customisable.
What do most games nowadays have in common? They are locked RIGHT THE FUCK DOWN so you can be sold DLC, optional content, and pay-per-play instances of bonus games (with +200% lootbox drops).
It makes money. Good lord does it make money. But it sure doesn't have lasting appeal.
