Never played it, I wanted to play the soulsborne series in release order but had to restart ds2 three times and lost interest.

Barely even knew about it before release and then the ridiculous praise just put me off even more. So I never cared about avoiding spoilers, and now it's just not interesting. Great music tho, keep getting surprised how much of the awesome music I hear in random youtube videos is from undertale.

>#1 - P5, some the the story pacing wasn't so good, aside from that loved it. Fun capturing personas, fusing for fun shit, etc.
>#2 - Nier Automata, flawed (combat can be lacking challenge at times, story can be taken as pretentious) but the multiple endings, decent characters, cool lore and amazing soundtrack all make it great
>#3 - Bloodborne, why did they regress to farming for healing? Still an amazing game but being able to stock up heals was a bummer. Still amazing, I just prefer the estus system and build variety of DS.
>#4 - Undertale, fanbase is ass, anti-fanbase is ass, game is decent. Some jokes hit, others totally miss. Enjoyed it overall

I strongly prefer narrative-driven games, especially ones that reinforce narrative themes/direction with the gameplay, but found Undertale unbearable. The sense of humor really wasn't my style and it led to a lot of dialogue and gags falling pretty flat. I think this is affected my connection to the story quite a bit - I wasn't into the dialogue or the characters at all so the ending really didn't click at all.

I can see why people would love BoTW, but I can't do open-world at all.

TW3 and Persona 5 were close. I burned out on P5 before the final palace, but I think the first 80% of the game is strong enough, just drags on too long after the shitty 'twist'. TW3 almost gets up based on Hearts of Stone DLC, but overall the game has some serious flaws that I think are well-documented.

I felt about Nier for a long time after beating it. Excellent, excellent game, but Bloodborne is my all-time favorite. Perfect, cohesive blend of atmosphere, combat and level exploration. Only thing I disliked about BB is how a lot of the impact from the mood is lost on a second playthrough, which is almost necessary if you want to piece together the story yourself.
