Medicore all around, but I guess I had some fun with it. First KH game I didn't even bother grinding for the Ultima Weapon, because there's no point in doing so.

As a fan of Kingdom Hearts I'll tell you that game only sold because it was the much theorized Kingdom Hearts THREE.

From this point on I don't expect the Kingdom Hearts series to sell as much. There will never be as much hype for Kingdom Hearts ever again, especially since new generations of gamers see the series as embarrassing/unappealing.

KH3 also had the novelty of Pixar iconic films like Toy Story. The only iconic film from Pixar left is Incredibles. And that's another thing without interesting worlds there's no hook to getting a KH game since most of these games are Disney filler. They've already used up the seriously iconic majorly popular films up to the current era. They got nothing else at all. This is why I think KH is about to decrease in it's ability to sell to gamers.

I agree with this. It's clear even Nomura doesn't know what the fuck he wants this series to be anymore. My own interest in the series took a nose dive after 3, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. Yes, we're all older now than when most of us started playing this series, but that's still no excuse for shitty storytelling and hit or miss game mechanics.
I wouldn't mind if they just soft rebooted the series entirely, and reign it all in.

I never cared to begin with because the series was garbage from the very beginning and they had to whore out famous Final Fantasy Characters to get square RPG fans to even try it. It served its purpose in helping rebuild the companies funds after the disaster the FF movie turned out to be. The art style early on was pretty garbage with all the belts and zippers but I guess they needed to make Goofy etc look edgy to increase sales.

Hell no. Backloading everything into the last four hours of the game was a terrible idea in KH2 and DDD. Doing it again is just an indication that Nomura didn't learn from his mistakes.

The game by itself is fine if not counting the retarded plot, dialogues and pacing (but it's nothing new for KH games)

The thing is, compared to KH II (FM especially), it's way worse overall, and that was a PS2 game. Still it's cool, great to know that Critical mode will be a proper rebalancing with new abilities.

KH is a one-trick pony that every so often provides new and exciting developments in the everlasting battle between its tail and the flies around its ass. KH3 was still a milestone, between shutting up the tongue chewers excited for it and finally putting the FFVII Remake back in the forefront.

Here's hoping 3FM is as significant a jump from the base game as 2FM was.
